Learn a very simple golf swing key to improve your golf ball striking ability instantly. This is a fantastic golf tip to help you compress the golf ball and hit the ball then turf with your irons - it is going to improve your golf ball striking. What I love about this golf tip is that it will show you how to hit the golf ball clean and improve your ball striking. It's very simple, meaning it won't take you hours to master - just do this one simple key and you'll instantly become a better ball striker.
This is a golf swing thought that I've used for years and it NEVER FAILS to help me hit pure golf shots. Why is it so effective at hitting pure golf shots? During the golf swing, our main goal is to keep our body's relationship to the golf ball - this is the main secret to hit pure golf shots. If this relationship with the ball is lost, golfers will typically experience inconsistent contact and allow swing flaws to appear in their golf swing.
This golf tip shows you HOW to keep that relationship with the golf ball throughout the swing which will help you to have consistently, clean contact with the ball and hit pure golf shots.
This tip can FIX golf swing issues such as:
1. "Coming Out of the Golf Shot"
2. "Losing Your Spine Angle" during the golf swing
3. FAT/THIN Golf Shot Contact
4. Golf Swing Plane Problems
5. AND TONS MORE GOLF SWING PROBLEMS FIXED HERE!

I am Tom Saguto, PGA Member and founder of SagutoGolf. Thank you for visiting my instructional page where you can find how to get on the fast track to improving your golfing abilities. Whether you are a seasoned golfing veteran looking for a quick swing tune-up after an on-course emergency, or a beginner just looking to get the most out of your golfing experience, I am here to help you achieve your golfing goals.
My mission as your swing doctor is simple, to help you maximize your enjoyment in game of golf. Because, let’s face it, golf is a hard game.
My philosophy is wholly based on the student having a fun, meaningful experience in a frustrating and complicated game where potential lifelong golfers either quit because it is too difficult or that they experience some form of swing-related pain or discomfort. I mitigate these problems by focusing entirely on the student’s needs and goals while teaching a golf swing method that ultimately takes stress off of the common pain areas of the swing.

I am hitting em better with your tips but why am I still only hitting my 7 iron 155 and driver 230?
@SagutoGolf
@SagutoGolf 4 года назад
August Meissner - First of all, I don't see a problem with a 155-yard 7-iron! Increased distance will come - subject to an individual's physical limitations, of course - as you grow more and more comfortable with the swing, thereby releasing any tension that may exist from having various thoughts about new motions that may still feel different to you. Please allow me to suggest something to help you get your game where you want it to be.... If you haven't already done so and would like to get on the fast track towards really owning this swing, then please consider enrolling in the SagutoGolf online school. For just $10 US/month or $99 US/year you'll have unlimited access to a comprehensive members-only learning platform that breaks down and greatly simplifies the entire learning process through succinct, step-by-step videos, and I'm constantly adding new content. Best golf instruction on RU-vid. For years I’ve been worrying about club face. Wrist angles. Fiat left wrist plus a thousand and one others things . But once you concentrate on chest down, they all fall into place. If you don’t keep your chest down and maintain your relationship to the ground, those one thousand and one things can’t happen anyway. You’re always be fighting your golf swing. Fantastic Tom. Thank you.

Tom, I'm a 12.7 handicapper. Been playing for 25 years. Yesterday I played a 72.0/132 course and had one of my worst rounds in recent history...+24 with only 1 GIR. This morning while just relaxing before my round, RU-vid recommended this video from you to me (thank you RU-vid algorithm and thank YOU Tom). This one key swing thought of "chest plate" pointed at the ball was pretty much exactly what I needed to turn things around for me. So I shot the best round I ever shot in my life today...+2 at a 70.3/122 course with 13 GIRs. Did I get some lucky bounces? Yes. Did I putt well today? Yes. Are the courses different? Yes. But even taking the standard variances (luck factor and course conditions) into account, the GIRs tell the story regarding my ball-striking today. Thank you for sharing this amazing tip for a mid-handicapper like myself. Ever in Vegas, hit me up. Let me buy you a drink and a steak!

I love this! As a sports and soft tissue therapist I talk to clients about envisioning that spot you've pointed out on your chest as an 'eye'. Examples, when doing a weighted squat in front of a mirror the eye needs to look at itself the entire time, when making an elite throw the eye should look at the target at release to ensure accuracy, etc. You are the first professional in any sport that I have heard make any reference to this same area. I will be incorporating this into my golf game and using it to help others with their own game technique. Well earned like and sub Mr. Saguto! :)

As a new student of Tom's I'd be lying if I didn't say I've been struggling lately with the swing changes. When I implement Tom's concepts on the range I hit the ball fairly well. It's been a challenge to forget 32 years of swing habits on the course. When any doubt creeps in my body desperately wants to revert to lift and chop. When Tom says it's going to feel weird he's not kidding. I feel like I'm swinging around my ankles and standing on my left leg only. So after firing a 49 on the front 9 Sunday I decided to really focus on the concepts and trust the weirdness. I shot a 40 on the back and I've broken through the barrier. I can feel when my practice swing is perfect and when it's reverting. I can't say thank you enough Tom.

Mike Stock - That's fabulous, and I truly appreciate you sharing your success and experiences! Yours is the perfect testimonial for how we should embrace the swing change process while understanding that it is exactly that - a process. Set your expectations, know your fallback tendencies, accept the funky shots that are bound to happen, and continue to work (properly) through it. Do this and the results will follow. Thanks again, and keep up the great work! Tom

Hey Tom, just watched this yesterday and also your humourous video breaking down the 5 things you SHOULD NOT be doing in the swing or in lessons. Hit the Golf course yesterday only thinking of chest down, chest down, chest down, I'm buzzing man. I've never consistently striped every iron flush out the middle as much as yesterday. Hit my best round in around 5 years, I'm a 15hc theses days but in younger years got to a low of 9.2. Shot a 79 and haven't felt that in control of my game in 25 years of playing. Absolutely flushed my irons straight and long and hit quite a few 290 bombs out there. I'm so impressed man, subbed. I'm now off to make a cuppa tea with my chest down, have breakfast with my chest down and continue to everything with my chest down today to see if the results are as incredible :)

Still one of the greatest golf tips of all time. Helps insure: * a proper and continuous tilt * automates covering the ball * helps eliminate swaying. * helps to prevent “spinning out” with the shoulders, hips & CHEST on the backswing and the follow through. * Helps prevent an over the top swing bc it helps keep the swing on a consistent plane. * helps eliminate over swinging. Keep your Chest down & your right arm off the slot machine handle and you’ll have a damn fine golf swing. -Monty H.

Bingo! ... "Chest Down" = center of clubface. Almost every instructor says you have to hit the center of the clubface for pure strike and maximum distance, but I haven't found one that says HOW to get center contact every time. Is it just hand-eye coordination? How do you develop that? 🤔 ... "Chest Down!" I've been reminding myself to, "Stay Down" (because my big miss is "early extension") I'm changing it now to "Chest Down!" Thanks, Tom 🙏🏻

That's a 20-30 shot difference in 3 months. I'm back in love with the game. Is Tom the best I instructor out there? I don't know, I don't care. He just resonates with me. No BS. It's clear, it's just obvious. Thank you

"Chest Down!" I've GOT to remember this. My big miss is coming out of my posture (extending early). 30% of my approach shots are SHORT (per Arccos) primarily because I come out of it. LOL, Gabriel! “We don't make mistakes, just happy little accidents.” That's one of my favorites from Bob Ross! Also: “Talent is a pursued interest." If we put in the necessary time working on the right things in our golf game, "talent" will manifest itself in the form of more consistency and, ultimately, lower scores. Then there's this Rossism: “There's nothing wrong with having a tree as a friend.” I must say that this statement does not fit in very well with golf... The stain on your iron face is an excellent unintended tool. It comes from the black tar like stuff that they treat the nets with. Your golf balls get stained by the stuff and leave a wonderful mark on your iron face telling us how well our impact position is. Another great indicator is from your Tee mat. It leaves a plastic film on the bottom of your club/iron. If the pattern of the plastic film is perpendicular to the club face it indicates a perfect point of impact reminder. If it is at an oblique angle relative to the club face then you need some adjustment.

It's amazing ... I loved when I came across this video .. this exact technique evolved in my mind over last few months !! It works wonders ... Though for me , it applies slightly differently ..for longer irons , I assume a point to the left of the centre of the chest ! You have to visualise that there is a rope tied between the point and the ball ... However it works only for irons... Never the driver :)

Tom I was at the range hitting nice high crispy shots! Then all the sudden everything starts shooting off to the right😮 I got so frustrated. I had to find this video. It's got to be I'm getting tall with my shoulders and not keeping my relationship to the ball.
@SagutoGolf
@SagutoGolf 4 месяца назад
"Relationship issues" are oftentimes the case when we get a bit too comfortable in our crispiness, Shawn. 😎 One problem that can occur after a good round or practice session is when we say to ourselves, "Now I've got this." That's an open invitation to our old swing demons, and they never miss an opportunity to haunt. We get a little too relaxed, a little too loose. We let our guard down. One swing element starts to break down, and then the chain reaction begins. That's why it's so important to practice with a purpose. Always have a plan and be diligent. And always know when to stop so you can avoid SBBS (Senselessly Beating Balls Syndrome). Nice job figuring it out! Tom

@SagutoGolf
@SagutoGolf 4 месяца назад
I'm glad to know that this lesson resonated with you, Eddie! As the spine condition changes from flexion at the start of the downswing to extension through impact, the upper body will naturally release as the belt buckle (hips) move upward. It's a very powerful move that can be likened to the action of a high jumper launching himself over the bar. While there are certainly videos on my channel that address this topic, a better option would be my FREE mini course “The Top 3 Things You Need to Be a Great Ball Striker”: go.saguto.golf/ It's a great way to gain a fundamental understanding of this system as well as an introduction to the instruction style that has thousands of men and women from across the globe - including many accomplished, low-handicap, competitive players and spanning all age ranges from junior to super-senior - enjoying the best golf of their lives: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews Tom

Hi Frank, I appreciate your kind words regarding my instruction! Here's a good lesson video that speaks a bit to what you are referring to regarding my wrists not rolling through impact: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Fe2kQ44azJ4.html. As for maintaining your upper arm connections, a simple drill for this is to stick a tee under each armpit and hit balls while trying to keep the tees from falling out during the entirety of the swing motions. You'll also find some connectivity tips and lessons in my Hogan series of videos which you'll find in this playlist: ru-vid.com/group/PLV62KxT7Mp7IyNDRp0hZK1F1OScdXx-u1 Beyond that it is important to understand that the videos, lessons, and drills on this free channel - while fully aligned with the swing method I teach - address a variety of topics, issues, and common flaws/fixes from one episode to the next. They are certainly not intended to be taken as a sequential learning platform like the structured curriculum of my online school, which I strongly recommend to anyone who truly wishes to get on the proper path towards learning and owning this swing. For just $10 US/month or $99 US/year you'll have unlimited access to a comprehensive members-only system for the full swing, the short game, and much more. Have been working on this for several weeks I have played twice since starting and have trouble taking the system to the course. Easy to get in a groove over the practice mat and felt like I was making progress but alas still shot over 100. Right knee keeps breaking down and I hit 4 to 5" behind the ball, sometimes, when it hurts my round the most. I've taken lessons before and it took at least six months to recover from them. Keep up the good work, thanks.

Another great video, I noticed at time 10:20 and higher that just prior to your take away you slightly moved your weight forward. On the early swings from face on camera it didn't appear that you preloaded left. I thought when you made that simple adjustment your ball striking, contact and ball flight improved. I liked your simple small adjustment!!! Amazing!!!
@SagutoGolf
@SagutoGolf 4 года назад
Very observant, Randy! Sometimes I get so caught up in the actual tip for the video lesson that I'll lose sight of some other key I may have recently been toying with. Though my setup weight was still forward in the earlier swings, lately I've been working on establishing that by slightly nudging my front hip towards the target. I like how this presets a few key things for me. Truth be told, I stumbled on this when re-reading the setup section of the Stack and Tilt book in which Mike Bennett and Andy Plummer state that "your hip center should be slightly forward of your stance center, about an inch". I then re-confirmed this by paying close attention to how Mike Bennett set himself up in a video where he was absolutely striping shot after shot. Nice catch, and thanks for your kind words!! Tom

Many more factors must be playing there than just "chest down", dear Tom. I'm a total beginner, I can't wait to try this on this very weekend. What about the correct distance to the ball? Right elbow glued to the torso, etc, etc. By the way, "experts" say don't focus on the ball, just a little bit in front of the ball, so the ball becomes "incidental" on your swing. It's that accurate?

Tom great swing method. I’m a flicker and can’t seem to not do it .. I have noticed it’s not as extreme with your method . I am hitting more frequent solid shots that feel sooooo good. Could you use a pitching wedge. I can’t seem to make as solid contact with that club.. thanks and again I really enjoy you tips..Jeff

Hi Tom, Should the centre of the chest and hips be just in front of the ball at address ? That way the low point of the downswing will be just in front of the ball , when keeping stacked throughout the swing . Left shoulder down is vital . I notice you tilt your head towards the target when starting the backswing. Is that part of the stack and tilt method ? Thanks again for your informative videos . Stack and tilt is awesome .
@SagutoGolf
@SagutoGolf 4 года назад
Thanks for your kind words about my videos, Tommy!! In discussing ball position, and assuming the golfer has a good setup with the shoulders, hips and knees properly "stacked", I find it best to do so in terms of where it is relative to the front foot. The prescribed neutral mid-iron position for Stack & Tilt is two balls inside the inner part of the front heel; back a little for shorter clubs, and a little more forward for long irons and woods. As one gets more advanced additional positions can be deployed for various shot shapes. As for my head.... *NO* - it is most definitely *NOT* a prescribed S&T move!! It is a crappy residual nuance of mine that I'm slowly working on ridding myself of! DO *NOT* COPY THAT HEAD MOVEMENT LOL!! Cheers! Tom

I put a broom stick across my shoulders, and hold it with my arms crossed, and do a backswing and light follow through, and try and keep the ends of the broom stick inside the ball the entire time

Thanks Tom for the aware of chest top. However, the middle of chest at ball didn't work for me cause I'm pretty short and either my club would need to be shortened or I wouldn't be able to have Gorilla clue arms. So instead I used the Arnold Palmer method of shoulder pointing at ball. Then I discovered, as soon as I was aware my shoulder was on ball, I would shift my attention to my chest on the rest of backswing and follow through. Real good results if I remembered to keep my left arm straight.

Tom Blue Raven - You just hit the nail on the head with regard to how each golfer must personally go about incorporating general instruction in order for it to be effective! We are all different shapes, sizes, etc., and as such there is definitely some work that needs to be done at the individual level so we can figure it out for ourselves and ultimately own it. Well done, and thanks for sharing!!! Tom

I'm glad you enjoyed it, Ian! If we throw away some of our lag in the downswing through early extension, then that will certainly rob us of our full power potential. Should you sense that this may be an issue, please give some serious consideration to the LagShot clubs that I speak about and demonstrate in these videos: - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-oxW_7HjzacY.html - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-bLWekbGl7C8.html - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fZyWXE2oGyo.html - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7KZ7eREvPIY.html I think the Lag Shot clubs are awesome training aids for resolving a host of downswing sins, particularly because you can hit balls with them and receive instant feedback. Simply incorporate the LagShot into your practice routine and it will greatly assist you in grooving the proper motions and downswing path. You can get 15% off Lag Shot using this link: www.lagshotgolf.com/sagutogolf And here is a link to my FREE mini course “The Top 3 Things You Need to Be a Great Ball Striker” where you can learn some key aspects of the swing system I teach in a more structured manner: go.saguto.golf/ Tom
