Just an idea: why bother with license keys and all? Since you're starting off, most people who want to access the software won't be looking at pirate websites for this. Once you've made some money with it and launched it, it may make sense to do this. Don't offer a free trial offline, show a demo only. Offer a 15-day cashback guarantee to account for the small percentage of users that regret the purchase.
yep totally agreed. In the long run those would be needed but for the first steps this was a wasted day.. On other hand - now i have it and don't have to worry about it again and come back to this and rework the application structure when people are already using it
I'm making my own little app and delaying backend stuff until I can't anymore lol Such a hassle to integrate all the external services, every single time.
yep that's smart... that's exactly what annoys me so much, all this fragile logic which doesn't even add any "useful" functionality for the user. But necessary part of making production-ready products i guess lol What are you working on?
@@StartupGodsDontRespond The sigh of relief you'll experience when you see it all working well together is going to be one hell of a sigh though. Oh I'm just making a somewhat simple web app to solve my own group scheduling problems. I'd show more but I just started it two weeks ago. You're a big inspiration to me, and I'm so glad you're mentioning the services that you're using for payments, email etc. That info is going to come in very handy. Keep up the good work, it seems to be going great!
Don't worry buddy, I am also trying to build a SAAS but it takes a lot of courage to do as demotivation, self doubt and procrastination comes along the journey. Making videos on RU-vid while recording your journey is a great way to put some responsibility on yourself. Hope to see you live with your product soon. Small Suggestion :- Start accepting payments on your site and put a notification to make the product live on specific date and you could offer some bonus for early-bird access. This way you could make some cashflow.
yep the videos are definitely helping a lot to keep focus even though it's getting messier than i wanted to.. Ah yeas nice idea, waitlist was also an option i thought of.. But perhaps now the product will be there pretty soon anyway! What kind of project are you working on?
@@StartupGodsDontRespond I am actually working on a email warmup tool kind of thing, I am also planning to document my journey to overcome procrastination. I hope to see you succeed and continue your journey.
