I’m 21 and just discovered Larry L last year. This guys does NOT miss. Larry, if you ever see this, I just want to tell you that you might be one of the most gifted guitarists I’ve listened to. 🤝
It's so good to see somebody from the Stealer's Wheels' generation actually singing this song. These were the guys who made some of the most incredible and unforgettable music and they are still appreciated to this day. Beautiful improvisation, Larry.
Whenever I hear your wonderful playing, I remind myself that your both very talented and relaxed. This has come from years of experience. I always learn a lot from you. Thanks for the dropped tuning information very much.
Responding for the first time I've been listening to Larry off and on for years. I play guitar and try to copy his great playing. He's always showed the guitar neck. And with a little research with other covers I usually have no trouble figuring out what he's doing. He's tuned flat with 1rst and 6th strings dropped. Thanks Larry for sharing the best collection of good covers in the world for free. Your the coolest
Larry is always tuned low. But I'm with you. I can usually follow what he's doing and then figure it out myself. Double dropped D is an awesome tuning. Neil Young used it a lot. What a great cover Larry. I'll be working on this shortly! J
Larry~I agree with what debbie said~And, you not only have us enjoying your music, you also have us looking forward to the next song~I am glad you did this one again~A piece like this reminds me why i love 70's music & why i love you doing them even more~Life is too short to not enjoy the priceless everyday moments~And, your music is SO one of those~Of course, you chose a good song that everyone knows, yet you made it your own with that thing you have inside yourself~Life is good~ione marie
OUTSTANDING rendition my friend! I am a performing solo acoustic performer myself and understand the challenges of making a tune sound rich and full with merely ONE instrument while staying true to, what I call, the "soul" of the song. I VERY MUCH appreciate your sharing this tune! I'm definitely using your version as my basis for working it up myself. I am just BLOWN AWAY with the "Double Drop D" tuning! I am a standard drop D NUT! Because, as I'm sure you know, the richness and foundation it gives to a lot of songs. However, I never even considered the possibility of tuning to a DOUBLE drop D. I want you to know that this tuning has just become a regular part of my playing style thanks to you and I'm sure I will use it OFTEN!! Thank you again sir for your time and effort in sharing your rendition of this tune with the world!
Very nice job! I'm sorry to hear Larry passed. I've been watching his renditions for the last 15 years. As a guitar player myself, I can tell you all he is exceptional...
A great rollicking rock and roll song that really got my feet tapping! Super playing and singing (I'm having such fun surfing your great videos!) Big smiles, Clive
I don't speak or write english very well, but, your job and song are great. I love all your perfomer songs. Congratulations from my heart and of the brazil !
Larry, Just LOVE this version and look forward to your new tunes...You have helped me get so much better on guitar and I use some of your renditions when I play out with my female partner. Specifically, Make Me Smile with harmony just blows the crowd away....:-) Thank you for sharing... I'd love to jam with you someday...Rock on Brother!!!
More of this please, plus it seems to make you happy too. Up-beat music chases those hurtin'blues away ! Movin'on'n'movin'up...more, more, more of this side of yr amazing talent please...it's motivatin'n'stimulatin' & encaptivatin' !
Larry, I have to say that I honestly think this is one of your best arrangements, so great job. People don't realize how hard it is to play and sing solo, just you and a guitar, but........it's hard. Good job man. I thought of a great song for you the other day, but I can't remember now what I was going to suggest. I think you would enjoy doing it, but now.......I have to remember, lol
You are such a legend Larry. Thank you for giving this experience and influencing me to practice guitar more. Lot's of respect for you from Moscow, Russia.
This video always puts a smile on my face because my father looks just like you and he loves to play this song on his guitar as well. Its so weird, almost as if he was the one who uploaded this vid. Great performance btw!
Just put your guitar in a double drop d, sit down in front of this video and watching play it a zillion times and you'll get it. Other than his solo riffs it's easy to see what he's doing.
And it was for the better! You have a special talent and a great way of presenting songs. I love when you make that Gibson explode. Did I hear some Stills in there? Great job Larry. I am going to go re-learn the song thanks to you.
Larry does have a separate video lesson of this song. He always tunes guitar down a half step. In this song he also tunes both E's an additional half step.
