It's always a good idea to not reuse old head studs - buy a new set of grade 8 studs; cheap insurance that the head nut torques will keep the head on tight.

The oil may look clean, but it will be oxidised after standing a few years. A full laboratory oil test is only a bit over £30 in UK and tells you a lot about the health of your engine as well as the oil. They send you a sample bottle, you fill in a data sheet about the car. You mail it and the sample off to them. A few days later, the test results pop up in your email. The service I use are very helpful over the phone if the results are puzzling. I'm sure similar tests are available where you are. Catching problems early is a lot cheaper than picking up the pieces! Clearly, there are no significant problems with that Ford, though!

Gotta love the old omnidirectional trouble light. Hits everybody and everything full on. I remember you could buy a heavy duty (incandescent) GE bulb called Rough Service that would survive more than a few drops or hits unlike regular bulbs that were always blowing from the slightest impact.

Dear johna 👍👌👏 Yeah, exactly. If I remember correctly, there are shields and glass covers existing for these types of lamps. As an interim solution I once even used kitchen aluminium foil (folded over several times) to direct the light away from my face. Best regards, luck and health in particular.

I think I still have Dad’s “drop light” from the 1940’s with a half shield still tucked away in the garage. He rewired it multiple times during my time with him and it will remain with me as a fond token of our times together. I bet it will light up and shine bright today!

Love your videos. I haven't seen any in a bit so made sure have notifications on. I really love the simplicity of the vehicles you feature and also the tools! Obviously not completely practical in today's world but the idea that something can sit for 70 years and in a few afternoons you could be driving around would seem like complete fiction to alot of people these days. I realize still on smaller size channel but if you guys ever get together like merch stuff some period inspired stuff would be real neat. Look forward to more videos. I watched the races on Curiosity Inc channel! Love that so much. If was do far I'd be at every one.

So how did you repair the water hose housing? Old unrun sitters oil always looks fresh, sediments still in there though. A pal inherited his dads old farm with 50 gallon oil change drum, oil like new with 1" sediments in the bottom, uses the oil in his commuters. First I get an old sitter I release the pressure plate until the cork disk lets go, usually couple of weeks. I never ever stand edge on to old fans, had a few fly off and they will kill, always check for cracks at the bolt holes.
