Million Student March national organizer Keely Mullen on protesting for free college and debt forgiveness. Watch Neil Cavuto talk about College Planning and Tuition Costs on Cavuto.
See. The difference between the 1970s and 2015 is that back then, Keely would not even be on a short list of coffee makers/janitors for a TV station. Let alone actually take up minutes of valuable time on air.
Hey Keely... I worked a full time job while pursuing a degree in Pre-Med Microbiology. My employer offered tuition reimbursement up to 50% for full time employees. I went to a trade school after high school and before entering University so that I would be qualified to obtain a job that gave me a full time paycheck and tuition reimbursement. Its called hard work and planning. You really aught to try it. Its awesome.
And that's the way it is. Humans raised solely on government $$$ who don't see parents get up at 5 a.m. to work, who don't see parents who worry about unplanned budget expenses, these are the sort that expect lifelong handouts. And it's getting worse
It doesn’t seem like she can because when I was growing up my income and my Dads income couldn’t afford to finish paying for me to get through community college BUT we were also told by the state I live in that my Dad gross income alone was too much money for him and my two younger siblings to qualify for food stamps what good does his gross income do when that’s before taxes…so before taxes my Dad made $11 dollars too much for them to qualify for food stamps which is insane. My sister are next to nothing and you can’t feed her off $11 dollars a month and that was back in 2007 my little brother could literally eat 5 cheese burgers in one sitting and be hungry a hour later. He could eat $11 every time he sat at the dinner table. I chose to stay home instead of moving out so that I could help but if I hadn’t been there what would have happened?and then some how this girls parents are able to pay for her to go through a university college (I assume) plus it sounds like there’s two of them. Yet they qualified for all kinds of government support? I just don’t understand.
trha2222 i think not going to lectures isnt that bad if they are able to pass exams, i mean if you think you know what to do in diffirential equations class but you struggle in complex analysis go ahead and study in library, Yet if youmare going to baseball matches during diffirential equations class, be ready to fail spectacularly.
I cant believe her parents are letting her get on and letting her spout nonsense which makes her look stupid, and naïve. Looks like her parents didn't teach her that you don't get anything for free, and stealing is wrong.
true but the system is all about licensing, insurance, and legalities. thats where school has its place. so basically insurance company A won't insure company X if company x doesn't have certain employees who have 130 hours of topic b and a license in topic b... I hope this makes sense
AbdulAzeem Omotosho Huh? There’s a lot of people living and studying in Europe. A lot of Americans too btw Either way, people travel. Travel is good for everybody - new perspectives, new experiences.
AbdulAzeem Omotosho yes there is competition. We have private universities too. And they charge like maybe $5000 a year. One of the biggest problems with American education is government backed student loans. You are absolutely right about that. There’s other factors that make American education expensive too, like the fact that everybody wants to go to America because everybody wants to speak English. So you have your average Joe competing with Arab sheikhs. So a university in a totally free market will usually favor the Arab Sheikh willing to pay $50,000. But the quality of education is great in European free colleges. Sure, we don’t have city-sized campuses, but we also don’t need to go into debt to get an education 🤷♂️
she is a picture perfect showing of a college girl in todays age. Virtue signaling morons. They say the best things ever, things no one disagree with. Wanting lower poverty rates, world peace ect. The second you try and speak reality into the situation and why things aren't always as easy as "some one will do it for me" , you must be inferring you WANT said injustice in society. When the reality is life aint fair. They will realize the second they hit the real world though.
Since it’s now 6 years since this interview, I’m assuming she has graduated and is now working full time. Just wondering how she is liking paying income tax and how she’s volunteering to pay even more to fund current students
I very much enjoy watching these people fall on their faces after tripping on their words as they are given facts and asked to explain the vast discrepancies between their claims and allegations vs the facts presented. Don`t be embarrassed. Every generation has worth. You might have to wait 20 years to find out what that worth really is. There will come a time when you can be prowd of what your gen has done.
You're not part of the millennial generation if you're currently 20 years old. Millennials are people born between 1980 and 1994 and are aged between 25 and 39 years of age. You are generation Z, born 1995-2015. And your generation is known for cutting their dicks off.
And also other people to blame for "society's woes". Just look at how all the variants of Marxist socialism ran out of "others" to blame things on and started preying upon their own as "enemies of the state".

@john kendall interestingly, most universities also off free online courses through Coursera. One can take them free, or pay to get the credits. Funny thing, you can actually learn the skills for free, and use them to make money on your own.
That's a good idea! She should have all professors who think education should be free sign a petition. Then she can tell them all to educate her for free. Let's see how many professors want that petition in the shredder.
I understand that the number of school administrators has ballooned in both public and private schools from kindergarten through universities to the point that they now take around 20-30% of school budgets without contributing to teaching. In fact, the growth of that group is one of the main reasons that the cost of an education has increased so much over the last 30 years. But I don't think they should be allowed to administrate for free, they should be fired and their buildings given away or shuttered up. Since 20-30% of student debt is from the cost of those administrators, then that much debt should be wiped clean from students. But somebody has to pay for it, and one way is to lower taxpayer-funded school budgets to pay it back to the banks over 20 years or so. Or maybe the banks should eat it, because it's only 20-30% of $1 trillion over 20 years. What do you think?
I cannot believe my ears. She literally just said her family is already on federal assistance and right after that said there’s a population that is not contributing to society... She literally explained herself and her family.. They are the ones that is not contributing... smh 🤦♂️

STUDY SHOWS COLLEGES HAVE THEIR TUITION OVERPRICED and inflated BY UP TO 80 %. COLLEGES WERE FOUND To BE WORTH Billions of dollars and assetS and spending money like water. Democrats never stopped or held colleges accountable to show proof for why they raised tuition and getting the government to raise the student loans, grants and aid. DEMOCRATS began the government and the Dep4artment of Education to have taxpayers pay for and take on the student payments to college and their debt for grants, scholarships, and all the financial aid. This without making colleges show income need and proof and then just pay the colleges without any proof of need. Colleges raised tuition at an alarming rate every year without needing it. Colleges scammed students and their parents and all American taxpayers with their high tuition. IF COLLEGES had to take on the debt their tuition would be up to 80% less because they then would have to pay for it and fund the debt. This false tuition costs put students and parents and the taxpayers in debt to the tune of over 2.7 Trillion dollars along with scamming students and parents and the taxpayers out of billions paid to them PUTTING THEM IN DEBT. STUDENTS NEED TO REVOLT AND PICKET DEMOCRATS AND COLLEGES AND EXPOSE THIS YEARS OF THIS SCAM. OVER PAYING FOR AN EDUCATION.

Great job to the reporter. He wasn't sugarcoating he wasn't brutal he was clear and patient yet very straight forward & down to statistics/facts / probabilities
Actually they're right in a way too. Student loan buries students in debt and it just starts a debt trap most people hardly get out of. What they really should've fought for is reduced costs and increased efficiency in public colleges along with some lucrative work-and-study programs. But since colleges brainwash kids with socialism you get "make the 1% bleed" funny how educational institutions are harboring dangerously radical ideas
Why do millionaires think they're entitled to move to the front of a line? Or to get a restaurant order correct. Or to tell someone how to raise their child? Or to not get a traffic ticket? Or to not pay taxes in the first place? Or to disobey federal orders? Cmon man, even the rich are entitled and you can't say they earned it.
Well that is only true to some extent because unless you are an anarcho-capitalist you have to to agree with some taxes to run basic functions of a state, the next question is to which extent should we allow it?
Nobody "earns" a billion dollars. No one can work 10,000 times harder than someone who brings in a 6 digit salary. They get it through luck, inheritance, and/or exploitation. We as a society have created a system that allows this to happen, and we can alter the system to help balance wealth by taxing more on disposable income rather than income that is needed to survive.
@Truth Seeker is right. Overall, the USA compared to other nations has a more balanced "distribution of wealth" compared to other countries. The tragic reality is that the USA has a double digit percentage of the population of nearly 30% earning less than $10k/yr. I was one of them. But I earned my way into the working/class middle class bracket. I paid back my loan in less than 10 years. And it was hard.

@Givi Mchedlishvili yes of course. The point I'm trying to make is that hoarding money isn't good for the economy, just how doing drugs or eating fatty foods isn't good for your body; that is not to say that people shouldn't have the freedom to do what they want with their money or bodies
Getting a college education is a choice and not a right. It's a choice to try to get into a college. There are entrance exams that have to be taken. There is nothing automatic about getting in college. Much like starting a business. Going to college has always been one person investing in their own future. No one owes that to you.

And this is all because the Federal government got involved in student loans . When the feds guarantees a loan and the college has zero incentive ( responsibility) to produce a quality education this is what you get . Used to also be when you were looking at an institution , where to go to college , they would boast about their employment rate ( We have 97% employment rate for our students ) for their graduates , no more .
