Happy birthday Becky! How wonderful you got to spend it with your mom. You all look so happy in the photos, it was nice to see. Beautiful presents, can’t wait to see you test drive your new pen. Legos were always my favorite thing to play with as a child, they’ve come a long way since the sixties! So have concerts. I saw the stones on Mick’s 30th birthday shows I’m older than dirt :) glad those computer gremlins didn’t get wet.
I really hope you get your PC fixed, fingers crossed! what a lovely vid this was, your mum!! oh my gosh she's lovely! and a belated happy birthday to her too! I loved the tulips and all the goodies you got/bought :D them lego builds are lovely too! Beautiful dip pen and sticker book, great video!! :D
Thank you! The fix was easy in the end; it was just the cable and when I switched to a different one, it picked up my device and I could transfer my files, yay!
Happy belated birthday!! Sounds like you had a wonderful visit with your mom; the diamond kits she made for you are beautiful! I've looked at those types of kits in the past and wondered if I'd like doing them. Lovely presents from your family (and yourself lol... I "may" have done that before myself). I love those Loz kits!! I've never heard of them before!! We have so much Lego in our house since my son has enjoyed it for many years. We also have a Lego Christmas village collection in our display cabinet. Sometimes it's nice to do a different type of activity from your regular artwork/hobbies.
Glad your computer issues turned out to be an easy fix :) Fun birthday goodies - I wish you a happy year to come. Catch up on your rest! Happy Halloween
"I'm not onto card making" is something I said about a year ago. Just wanted to try out a couple of things like distress inks. And die cutting... Well, card making is probably what I spent most of 2023 doing and I absolutely love it!
I should have put a "yet" at the end of that sentence! 🤣 Have managed so far to avoid buying a Cricut, but I keep looking at them, lol. It's very relaxing using paper, that's for sure!
@@BeckyTregear Same here, but a Silhouette Portrait is finally on my shopping list for black friday this year! I keep telling myself that I'll use it in my art by cutting masks and stencils etc. But I have a feeling I'm just going to cut out dumb things like bumper stickers as funny gifts for friends lol.
Same when I have stuff on a Saturday afternoon the whole month (my usual drawing day) I have not had a regular schedule for drawing this year and the person who organises the online life drawing has been overseas.
Hey, you made it this time, aw. 😄 I was having my twice-daily 30 minute French lesson at the time it was posted, and I ought not to be watching / replying to this now, as I still things to do before bedtime (eg putting the freshly ironed laundry away...). 😊
I would suggest looking at getting a CamLink by Elgato or one of the cheaper ones. They basically take the HDMI feed from your camera and transfer it to USB and allow you to record straight to the computer through software like OBS. You will never need SD cards again (for anything you do at your desk). It also allows you to film for hours if you want to without needing to stop start like most cameras do. It basically turns your quality 4K camera into a web camera. Although if it is your USB itself on the computer that isn't working, than that wont help. Hopefully you can uninstall and reinstall. I hate those paint seal plastic things. I have just opened 10 new acrylics and have 5 more to go and some of those were so hard to pull off and they left me with very messy fingers. Your colours are so pretty and I love the paper book with the arty designs. :) I need to go on a no buy decade now 😛
I might look into it, but in the meantime I found another transfer cable in the pile of cables and it is working much better than the other one....which also got chewed at some point by Gandalf and may well explain why it's not working! 😬 No buy decade sounds like something I should be doing too, lol.
Hi Becky, My daughter's birthday is the day before my late mom's birthday. So she was a sort of birthday present to my mom. 😅 I am glad you had a good Halloween, and wonderful birthdays with you and your mom. It is still Halloween where i am. And it is cold. It got down to -3 celsius last night and -5 celsius the night before. It was a little bit warmer during the day. My poor heater is struggling when it gets really cold. I want to stay down under for your spring and winter seasons. But i can't afford that.😂 I liked your kitty. Have you tried using solvents with the colored pencils? I like odorless mineral spirits. It fills in the white spots really well. The tulips were lovely. Tulips are some of my favorite flowers. You and your mom look very much like each other. I am glad you were able to have quality time with each other. Oh and it was wonderful to see all the goodies you got from what you purchased to what you received as birthday gifts. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you! I also arrived a few hours before Mum's birthday....and I was two weeks late, haha! I hope you've had a great Halloween, even with the freezing temperatures. 🥶
Hi Becky. I seem to of missed this video? Sounds like October is a Busy month being your birthday ( Happy belted wishes ) you made me giggle! love your videos , Concert looks Awesome, Some years ago I saw Diary of Drams live in London ...they are amazing live. love your luz too they look fun. Really glad you had lots of quality time with your mom. Sorry I missed this. Happy Swatching
@@BeckyTregear yeah this year has gone so fast. as we got keys on the 27th March and moved on 2nd April this year . it has been madness. it has gone crazy fast.
Happy birthday! Distress inks aren't great for stamping, more for creating backgrounds and then doing things like spraying with water to create oxidized effects. But I love your haul!
@@BeckyTregear You may have demonstrated that after I fell asleep while watching (which is actually a tribute to how "relaxing" watching your videos is for me). I'll have to watch the rest later and see if you used the daubers.
Becky, please, please stop apologising for having proper time off to do 'you-time' stuff and special times, like seeing your mother!!! IF anyone has issues with you doing this, hey, they have a very, very real problem - not yours!!! So please do slow down and give yourself time to get back over the fatigue and to get back into a more 'normal' routine. Ok? 🤗 As for the dog-kitty? It was very definitely a kitty! A very adorable kitty! Meanwhile, thankyou for all the pre-visit work you did for us, so that we still had videos. That was a double work-load for most of September, at my guess! Of the many things you've shown us, that dip pen set at the very end was absolutely my favourite, and the second was the kitty. As soon as you opened the box, my response was, "Wow, that is beautiful!". Hopefully, by now, Nick has been able to fix your USB issues? 🫂 I had the intention of having something in the post for you for your birthday, but late September and almost all of October was lost in the foggy world of Covid. I'm now at the stage of re-educating and persuading my unwilling, aching body (especially my legs!!!) and fogged mind back into normal function. And yes, I am making real progress at last!!! I was thankful that two things were still do-able (apart from every-day absolute essentials like food and laundry!), and kept me from going nuts, as my concentration was shot to pieces! Oddly, one was the latest 160 page sketchbook challenge, which I'd just begun, and the other was two daily French quiz programmes. Nothing else would 'stick', even ArtTube videos. Those I did watch were watched in two or tree segments. I am also *mega, mega-thankful* that it was not as bad as I know it could be, and has been,. for so many in the last four years.
I realised after posting that there is more in your comment when I expanded it! Would you believe I actually fixed the USB issue before Nick got home, lol. Took me a while to realise the issue was the cable, which is the easiest problem to fix, yay! I'm so sorry you had a bad bout of Covid; my dad had it too in October and he was really sick for a while there. It's still out in the world, that's for sure, and it can take ages to recover from its lingering effects. 😞 Here's to feeling better and getting past that awful brain fog!
I ended up buying a seperate charging cable I keep at work as putting it in my bag ended up making it not work. I have a card reader I keep on my desk and do not use USB hubs as I do not trust them.
