impressive detailing.....but the one thing i think about watching this evolution is that it seems super elaborate considering you don't own the building...as a "lessor", if that is the right word, i would be thinking about your landlord doing something that would affect your lease or you being able to stay in that space, and how elaborate your buildout is and then something happening that affects you staying there in that space.....just something i think about....maybe you should buy the building. :-)
Hello Jon! Did you buy that aluminum with rockwool as it is or did you make it yourself? Btw, is cork better than this, cause I have some neighbors that have little children and they stomp loudly and I proposed them to put something underneath their floor. Please help me with an answer. Many Thanks! :)
@@Jonsine They are above me, so not the ceiling but their floor cause that is the source. Just like you did in your video when you jumped, it is how they sound. I live underneath them.
Dude, I don't want to be annoying (someone's got to do it), but you really should fully increase your safety precautions. I have a strong feeling you don't read the manuals of the saw, etc. You should always wear protective eye glasses when you use a saw, and you should be wearing a breathing mask when you work with (and especially cut) insulation and absorption materials. You really trust laws that just recently went into effect are going to 100% protect your health on breathing insulation particles? Do you think you look stupid with a mask on or sweat too much? No one cares. It is not worth the risk.
Great to see you progressing on your studio, Jon. Better seeing you and Vanessa happy for having the opportunity to hang out with friends again. Stay well.
Don't drink Beer so often man. You become every time tired because Alcohol and you need to have your brain every time fresh. Btw, I bought your Sound Packages, thanks! :)
jon, When we are all back to normal i would really like to come and visit your studio i am based in Bristol UK and i am too trying to build a small production studio for myself. I would really like to come and see what you have been up too and support you in your journey. I am a DJ called KO-Jaxx and producer but at the start of my journey. Been following you for at least 2 years and you are an inspiration too me and i really appreciate all your great advice. Get back to me when you can and keep producing great music brother.
Hi Jon, can you send a link please with the aluminum material used for the flooring? Or at least tell us the name of it so we can search it? Thank you!
Jon, we all love your new studio already. You are very deligent and take a lot of action....it might be a bit stressfull too .... Please try alcohol free beer, it is so much better in every aspect ;-) STAY SAFE and all the best! PS your wife is great and cool!
Love to hear more about your speaker-project. Are you gonna go the DIY way? It is the right way, trust me;) Thanks for all lovely vlogs through the years. I started fallow you 4 yrs ago and so fun to see all your progress. Big Greeting from Finland
Your progress is rather slow. It will take you a lot longer than a month to get your new studio to a state where it will be kind of 'useable'. Get some help mate!
I did notice less boomy ringing in the “thud” sound. That’s amazing. Can you do a before and after video when it’s done? Like show a bit from an old video in the old setup and A:B the two to show the difference. I work for a Calibration laboratory and we do some acoustics, like calibrating sound pressure level mics and the corresponding transducers. I’ve been around the stuff for years. Everything you talk about is real and makes significant differences, in my field for the purposes of testing. But this is the first time I’ve seen the applied physics part of it. Like how calibrating the microphones affect the use of them. How important they are to the customers with critical use cases like yours. So cool to see this stuff. Just got into producing a year ago and have followed you since then. Thanks for doing all this stuff.
his original plan was to put very a shiny reflective (mirror like) black surface over the floor, then changed his mind to flat black, not sure about now, but it prob won't have a wood finish
