Watch as Stephanie Sersich demonstrates for her class, Beadmaking: Jewelry Components, Pendants, Buttons and Beyond, which will focus on making many different kinds of jewelry components-pendants, buttons, focal, and accent beads-using traditional and nontraditional flameworking techniques.
Stephanie Sersich has been making her own glass beads, which are the focal point of her jewelry designs, for more than 15 years. For inspiration, she draws on varied sources, including textiles, ancient art, and the natural world. Her unique approach to beadmaking and contemporary jewelry design has led her to teach at craft schools and glass studios around the world, and to lecture at many conferences and societies. She has sold her work in many well-respected venues, including the annual Craft Show at the Philadelphia Museum of Art and SOFA, both Chicago and New York. Sersich's jewelry and beads have been highlighted in many publications, including The History of Beads, Beads of Glass, Formed of Fire, Contemporary Lampworking, Beading for the Soul, and her own book, Designing Jewelry with Glass Beads, by Interweave Press. www.cmog.org/bi...

Thank you for this wonderful video. I just ordered some stainless steel chopsticks for my tool box! I am looking forward to trying out some of the techniques that were demonstrated at my next open torch time. :)

The Corning series are wonderful. I love to watch these artists demonstrate their art. It would be really nice if they would show the finished product at the end of the video, all cooled down and colourful.

Stephanie does a really good job of explaining her work, and turning this demo into a tutorial. This was great! An entertaining demo to watch but also like a mini-class.

I also used to make glass animals in the early sixties at Sidcup and Dartford. Mr S R Beckhurst was my boss and we were based at the Sidcup Station Approach.
