I have sold my HD600 after many years and bought the new Beyers. I've used both with Reference 4. The Beyer is modern and all, but I still prefer the feel or "adaptiveness" of the HD600. Both are excellent for the money.

The Focal's new Clear MG Professional should absolutely be supported with SoundID Reference! They are much better than the original Clear Professional and have an astonishing potential to be one of the greatest headphones for professional studio use if corrected properly with SoundID. Sonarworks is the industry standard in this businesses, please keep up the great work guys, wish you all well!

Got a pair of these coming and my main reason for wanting them is playback versatility (not needing an amp) coupled with reasonably neutral response. Even though my interface powers higher impedance cans well, quite often I just need to quick critical listen off my phone. Not to mention walk around or lay in bed listening to music for fun away from the desk. The best reference is always the one you know best so I’m hopeful I take to these 🤞🙏. Excellent review!

Hmmm... Just watched another highly reputable headphone review of these and the freq response graph presented looked much superior than what your showing here. Matter of fact the bass extension and flatness was superior to the hd650 and the 880. I watched nearly all their open back reviews and few could match the flatness of the 900pro x from lows to mids. Not saying your tests are wrong but this requires more looking into for sure. May I ask how you tested these?

The video in the article slightly outdated in a sense that the plugin presets are not covered in it, but it is covered in the article. Either way, that doesn't change the general usability (and there is nothing new to the how to use the plugin in DAW). Hmmm,that's really strange ,because all other reviewers said that these are bass bomb and actually good for EDM & mixing low freq.

Hello, Thank you for reaching out! Based on the graph, I can say that the basses might be present but the sub frequencies have a roll-off that was mentioned to be lacking. However, keep in mind that for most open-back headphones it is common and most of them will have this similarity. Hope this helps!

Hello, The DT 900 Pro X will be more flat in the midrange till the low range, but the 700s will have more bass extension. However, when comparing both profiles, there are a few dips to be aware of. You can compare the calibration profiles within the SoundID Reference app by loading the calibration profiles of your choice. Lastly, my suggestion would be to simply test the headphones in a local music store to see which sounds and fits you best as it is quite an important factor as well.

Hello! I have a question regarding headphone impedance. I own the Beyerdynamic DT 900 Pro X, which has an impedance of 48 ohms. I'm considering purchasing the Audient iD4 interface, which has a headphone impedance of 600 ohms. I've heard that using higher impedance headphone amps with lower impedance headphones can affect frequency response and potentially damage the drivers. Can you clarify if this will be an issue, or if it's safe to use the headphones with the interface? Thanks in advance!

Hello, Thank you for reaching out! You should be fully compatible with the interface, just use a lower volume for the lower-impedance headphones themselves. The drivers could be damaged if the volume has been increased way too much. Personally, I have not heard of such an issue, but It should be worth checking in with the interface manufacturer for recommendations. I hope this helps!

You are giving a perfect image of the most linear headphones out there. Would it be possible to do a comparison of the most linear DAC / headphone amp? In combination with let’s say the HD650 of Sennheiser?

Hi! Thanks for reaching out! Here's the short version - build quality is very good, comfort good but the sound is waaaay too bright. When calibrated they are great, but ... HD 650's and ATH-R70x's are two of the best mixing headphones and both cost less. Hence it's hard to recommend Hi-X65's 🤷 Hope this helps!

Hello, please can you cobfirm that 900 pro x will ve good together with amp MAGNAT MR 780? For games,fils and music.This amp have sufficiently power for them. Thx for answer and good job.

Hello, Thank you for the question! It should work with the Beyerdynamic however, I would advise reading the specifications or contacting the manufacturer directly. The headphones only require 48ohm power yet it would be still worthy to check in with the manufacturer. I hope this helps!

Based on the average profiles available within SoundID Reference I can confirm that the 702 will lack bass, however, it has less boost on the high end compared to the 900 Pro X. I would say both options are good and it might be down to the user preference when using uncalibrated. With calibration enabled, it comes down to the clarify and comfort that the headphone brings. You can compare both frequency responses simply by downloading both average headphone profiles within SoundID Reference. Hope this helps!

thank you for that, but i wish this could be a website feature as well of corrected vs non corrected and having 2-3 headphones comparison with enabling correction graph for any of them in any combination, also the build consistency % to know if the sound ID reference is more accurate on some models, because some models might have lower reported build consistency than others, and maybe , you could provide the ability to buy rig that has Foam Block with microphones and a testing usb amp that you plug the headphones in to be able to tune the SOUND ID calibration for each person and each head-set, and to reduce the noise easly you could have a battery in the bottom of the phone block that you can charge while not using the measuring and that battery can provide interference free power while the testing is done, and have the usb only send data to the pc/phone and not get any power that can screw with the measuring.

and several things that make them Much Worse like Much Less Padding on the headband plus different material on headband that makes your head hot second propriety earpads so No 3th party earpads cause Beyerdynamic Dosn't allow any company to make earpads for DT700 and 900 Pro X so anyone that wants Beyerdynamic headphones is better going for DT770, 880, 990 or DT1770 and DT1990 many 3th party earpads that change the sound tuning 3th party headbands but the OG Models have The Best headbands of all models funny how the new models have worse headbands and for the same money you can buy Fully Modded DT770, 880 and 990 with modded drivers and detachable cable even Balanced from how Beyerdynamic is marketing the new headphones it looks like they are a throwaway headphones made for ppl that are just not familiar with these things the Only Great thing the new headphones have is the internal wiring and hiw the drivers are attached with a plug not Soldered meaning easy swap but you can't buy replacements so theres that

Dekoni sells DT700/900 earpads, so your statement is incorrect. And I own several Beyerdynamic classics as well as the new DT900 Pro-X. I can tell you they're not throwaway headphones, but actually quite good. And all parts are replaceable, just like with the older models.

Hi! Make no mistake though, DT 900 Pro X are great and we do really mean it! For work with low power mobile devices where no calibration is available, they're the best. But for work with an audio interface, computer and SoundID Reference, there indeed are even more accurate options available, as discussed in the video.

@@SoundIDCreators I bought it and the same day I bought SoundID Reference and I made my decision after watching almost all youtube videos on 900 pro x. I could easily buy DT880 pro for far more cheaper but I thought this would be a new tech plus SoundID Reference will make it shine. Anyway looks like I will have to make some use of it now.

@@irogers217 Sorry for the kate reply. Frankly, it's not as bad as I got the impression here. But when you see the frequency graph, there is a deep dip in highs which is like cutting off all frequencies in that range. I have never seen this strange type of freq response graph in any other cans so far. That dip is the reason that it's not harsh. What I really don't like about them is they are heavy which makes me tired in longer sessions. I think if you really want to purchase these cans, demo first or visit the store to get the feel if they are suitable for you. I have used a pair of far cheaper cans for years. They were not accurate but they were light enough which made a huge difference in practical life.
