The urban development in Tangier is quite fascinating. After a long period of stagnation before the year 2000, the city has grown to become the second economic capital after Casablanca. In less than 20 years, it has turned into a globalized metropolis with heavy industries, a massive port, and ambitious urban projects leading to the emergence of new neighborhoods filled with young and creative energy, unfortunately overlooked ! In the past 8 years, Think Tanger has collaborated with various communities to explore and amplify the incredible voices emanating from neighborhoods that are often stigmatized.
Since 2023, Think Tanger in partnership with Association Chifae has collaborated with the community members of Bir Chifa district to learn and share the unique stories of the youths from there. Six of them were captured on camera by Marouane Beslem, interviewed by Amine Houari, delving into questions about their experiences as young adults living in Tangier. and exploring how creativity and community engagement can positively shape the social and urban fabric of a city in constant evolution
This short-documentary was screened on March the 7th at KIOSK by Think Tanger.
