I am pleased to announce that at least one of my channel's followers has secured a place of study at YSAO in Iisalmi. Additionally, two have been accepted into Riveria in Joensuu, and two into Savo Vocational College in Kuopio. I want to encourage all of you to apply for what you dream of, whenever the time is right. It's important to have goals and to dream, and maybe one beautiful day, they will come true for you. 😍🙏🏾🏆

It can be a culture shock for many when a teacher or university lecturer is addressed by their first name. At workplaces, you can also address your colleagues and supervisors by their first names. 😲

Thank you John. Apprecite you taking the time to make this valuable information. I am a 40 year old who transitioned from banking to f&B and am a passionate baker. Do you think this sort if programe would suit me ? I know its a hard question but would love your opionion. Thank you once again
@JohnofFinland291
@JohnofFinland291 Месяц назад
I can only speak in general terms. I believe everyone should be able to do what they truly love and are passionate about. Not even money can replace that. At 40, it’s not too late to study for a new profession. Perhaps experience in banking could be beneficial when starting your own business. You would have a better understanding of finance, billing, accounting, and the value of money. Maybe there has been customer service and sales experience as well. These skills can also be useful in studies, potentially allowing you to get credits towards a new degree. On the other hand, the banking sector is surely hectic and can feel like a rat race. For some, it might be a joy and a blessing to use their creativity in the skills of a pastry chef or baker.

Hello John, Thank you for nice video and information.I have a question.If I got chance on vocatinal college can I move with my family?
@JohnofFinland291
@JohnofFinland291 Месяц назад
Yes, you have the right to move with your family, but you must have sufficient funds in your bank account, and MIGRI will require reliable proof of this. You are allowed to work an average of 30 hours per week while studying. For example, during school holidays, you can work up to 40 hours per week if you have had weeks with fewer or no working hours. Nurmes and Lieksa are small towns where finding a job might be almost impossible if you only speak English and are studying at the same time. However, as your Finnish language skills improve, your chances of finding a job will increase.

That's true, but I think they update the information before the school application starts. It's worth following the page and waiting. Thanks for the message though. ❤ As a reminder, I also inform everyone that I have made a small story about the city of Lieksa in the COMMUNITY section. A couple of my subscribers have asked to tell me what Lieksa is like. I did my best. Lieksa is known in Finland as a city of loss of migration and as a former industrial city, and a movie or maybe a few have been made there. I forgot to mention earlier that there are some great places for tourists to visit in the city, which I have visited myself. There is a chef training in Lieksa and a baker / confectioner training in the neighboring town Nurmes. However, there is still a message for international students visible on the website. Thank you for your request! I encourage you to watch my previous videos on job opportunities in Finland, including roles in the gaming industry and seasonal work in Lapland. I am always on the lookout for suitable job opportunities across different fields. However, it's often necessary to have an existing work permit in Finland or an EU passport. Obtaining a work permit for seasonal work is relatively easier, and certain IT professionals are more likely to secure a work permit.

Is Part time jobs are available in these cities?
@JohnofFinland291
@JohnofFinland291 Месяц назад
There certainly are some opportunities, but very few for English speakers. I recommend contacting the school directly and asking if they have partnerships with companies where you could potentially apply for part-time work while studying. On the other hand, these English-language programs were initiated specifically to attract skilled labor to the companies in these cities. Additionally, the cost of living is significantly lower than in larger cities. Rent and transportation costs are much cheaper, and you can get everywhere by walking or biking. Just 2 km from the city center, you're already deep in the forest.

@FridayAdejo-rp6km You can obtain a residence permit for studying Finnish before your actual studies begin. The requirement is that you have already been accepted as a student at a Finnish educational institution. You cannot get a residence permit solely for language or preparatory courses. A folk high school in Finland is a secondary education institution that provides both general and vocational education, typically for adults, regardless of their prior educational background.

@JohnofFinland291

Sure, you can, but applying for admission and applying for a study permit are two different things. The school decides if you’re admitted, and the immigration authorities decide if you get a study permit. All conditions must be met. You need to have sufficient funds to cover your living expenses, and bringing your family along significantly increases the required amount.
