Hi loves! Welcome back to my youtube channel! #christianyoutuber
If you are new here….WELCOME TO THE #happysoultribe !! Don’t forget to hit the SUBSCRIBE button before you leave :)
Today’s video is another #faithfriday !! I just finished up reading the book of Job and decided that I wanted to share some of what God revealed to me with you guys. You have asked for a while for me to do an in depth study on this book, and unfortunately I don’t feel super comfortable or prepared for that yet…so here is my compromise! I talk about 5 things that I learned from this book and give a brief summary of the story for those who may not have read it before! I hope you enjoy it but most importantly, I hope that God speaks to you and uses this video for His glory.
#biblestudywithme #bookofjobstudy
Thank you for watching!!

Why does God let bad things happen to good people? -To teach us to rely on God -To remind us that he is sufficient -To bring glory to his name -To be used as a means of showing others Christ Loved this video. Truly a great reminder of how sufficient God is.❤️

Also to humble us. I mean when God talks about how the eagles fly to Job because of His understanding, when being compared to humans, we can't literally fly like we are considered the best of His creation yet we are below the eagles that can fly. The birds can literally shit on us haha. Edit: Also there is no 'good' people. Only God is good.

I think bad thing happen to us cause God wants us to learn and become the best version of ourselves. When you said one could potentially die from alcoholism I had to swallow cuz that's exactly what happened to my Dad and I love and miss him everyday but I think God takes good care of him now even though he did things wrong, he also did a lot of things right.

@@britneykimball7492 That is awesome! I've tried several times to read any book in the Bible and I've failed. I couldn't understand a word of it, but a few weeks ago God called me to minister. I've felt His call before, but I was stuck in this world and didn't want to. Well, I can no longer, and no longer want to, ignore His call. Two weeks ago I prayed and told Him I will answer the call and when I opened the Bible I could understand! I've been shown more in the last 2 weeks than in my entire life. It truly is miraculous. I just pray that you keep going. I feel like dancing when I hear the word and that others want to hear it too! God bless you, Britney!

I love what you said about the toxic views. The church i belonged to wasn’t right for me so i decided to study from home with the help of my bible and online resources. The people at that church had no idea what i was doing behind closed doors but because I wasn’t attending church every Sunday, they assumed my difficulties were due to that. At the end of the day everyone’s relationship with God is personal and no one is entitled to knowing the details. Thank you for this video. Job was the first full book of the bible i read and i go back to it often. My favourite part is 5:18 ‘for He crushes but also binds up; He strikes, but His hands also heal.

My father read the book of Job to me when I was a little boy and I have just recently reread it now as an adult. My father explained to me that this book teaches that sometimes bad things happen to good people, but you need to learn how to heal and move on. It is truly sad that Job’s children and livestock died, and that he was plagued by a disease, but he recovered and God blessed him with another family. The most important lesson in this book is that faith in God above all else will lead to prosperity in life, and salvation!

I came across this video because I was looking to see what people thought of the book of Job on RU-vid. I see you have different answers in your comment section in regards to their understanding of the scriptures. Well...!!!!. As I have said to many who have asked me about Job. The reason the Most High allowed Satan to do what he did to Job was to teach Job a lesson. It is true he ( Job ) did not sin. But he ( Job ) was self-righteous in his ways and in his thoughts. Job felt that because he was faithful and always gave praised to the Most high that nothing bad should come upon him. But the Most High had to show Job who is Boss and that He the Most High is the creator and that he ( Job ) is the created. You see we have a lot of people in our life that are very self righteous about themselves. This is why so many fail at so many things because of this attitude of self righteousness. Be bless...!!!!!.

The whole book was God’s work. Even in the beginning it was the Lord who brought Job’s name up to Satan.

I feel Job's complaint every time I read the story. The ways his friends turned on him is a nightmare scenario. Discussions I've had about Job revealed that it's hard to understand righteous individuals in the Bible when everyone is born into original sin. I Don't have any answers, but it reminds me of Luke 13:1-5 where Jesus addressed the suffering of Galileans under Pilate, and the falling of the tower of Siloam. His concern was if they were sinners above other people to receive the suffering they got, and his answer was no. Not all suffering is caused by sin according to this passage. As echoed in the book of Job.
@chevychelios4672
@chevychelios4672 4 года назад
All suffering is caused by sin. Sin literally means miss the mark/point. Sin is not God's will because it's against God's will. Remember that first humans could choose NOT to eat the forbidden fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil? According to Genesis God's will is to give the earth to rule as command for humans. God's will is to create the universe and to multiply and to enjoy everything in it and to warn Adam/Eve not to eat the forbidden fruit. We are supposed to live forever in God's presence, but because the curse of sin, we now live with sickness in our mind and body and heart to death. We're supposed not to know the concept of good and evil. But then Adam/Eve disobeyed the Lord by listening to the devil. Remember God's warned them, they could choose NOT to eat the fruit, but they chose to eat it. They've sinned, they're against God's will. Still God is good, He planned the salvation from sin since the beginning and to put enmity to the devil so humans know how God loves us all.
@warden835
@warden835 4 года назад
@@chevychelios4672 you are right. The first sin was disobeying God by eating from the tree God said not to. After that was the sin of murder with Cain and Abel. Before long much of the world was given over to sin so that God sent a flood, making a covenant with Noah to never do the same again. What I was concerned about is as a Christian in daily life, can we look at people who are clearly suffering and say that it's caused by sin, therefore they deserve it? As a Christian wholly committed to following the Lord and feeling persecuted in the world, would we first look to see if we sinned, and deserve It? Job in the beginning of the story was concerned that one of his sons may have sinned, so he offered burnt offerings to God. Does this match the Christian life, or do we not all fall short at times? To take it a step further, Jesus entered the world free from sin because he never sinned. Yet he was crucified and suffered more than can be imagined. Unless you believe Jesus deserved to be crucified, A sin and suffering cause and effect model isn't a reliable way to explain why some people suffer and other people dont. If we believe Jesus had no sin, then what caused his suffering? We literally have God's gace, and what a wonderful God we have.
@LightSeekers777
@LightSeekers777 4 года назад
@@chevychelios4672 Then did Paul end up in jail for sinning? Or how about Joseph, was it for his own sins? Maybe they and Job were being tested? God says it is righteous if when we DON'T sin and are punished, we endure. But if we suffer, FOR DOING GOOD, we are pleasing Him. Isn't this what Job did? He endured!

Honestly speaking...I'm having serious difficulty in understanding the fact that his kids died and his properties destroyed. I understand he gave him twice as much but the thing is humans actually died ie kids maybe his properties wasnt necessary but his kids. Job later asked a question and God was all over demonstrating his power when he just wanted an answer. Im a Christian and have found hurdles in studying the Bible and by Grace I've being able to overcome but Job is one book that is just confusing me especially now that I'm writing a script on it. I'm just losing it I need help☹
@ColleenDavis22
@ColleenDavis22 4 года назад
In the beginning of the book of Job God is boasting to Satan about how great Job is. He was righteous and a servant to the Lord. There was no need for God to take away anything from him. But Satan wanted to question Job, and he thought he only served God because God blessed him with all those things including health. And in the End Job never cursed God, even after losing his family and Health. I believe the point of this story being in the Bible is to show us that the Battle against Sin and Satan and our Flesh has nothing to do with what’s in our physical world. It’s about the spiritual realm that all the fighting is happening. Jobs primary Focus was on God and that’s what the Bible says, if we keep our focus on God and serve him all our battles are won. Even if everything around you is falling if you keep your eyes on him and do what he desires of you, You will be standing at the end. So again I believe this is to show us that our battles are in the spirit, and the strength we gain from God is to win the spiritual battles. Satan also thought Job should give in since he lost everyone he cares for and cares about. And obviously Job was in pure agony because he lost his family. He had every right to be. But he still never cursed God. *One Last Thing* Yes those were people that had to lose their lives so one man could get tested. God allowed Satan to go that far. This is the only reason why God showed his power. To show us that we don’t and cannot see the full picture. Us as humans cannot fully understand why God allows and does what he does. He allows disease and war and just bad people to roam this earth and it’s all ultimately the plan of God regardless of how we see it. God asks us to have faith in him. And all day it’s easy to have faith that it’s his will to give us the strength to get through a tough day but then it’s really hard to have faith that it his will when a family member is in a car accident and holding on to stay alive. We have no idea what battle is going on in the spiritual realm. We have no idea what God is protecting us from and what our Guardian angels are fighting off for us. We just have to trust Gods will. And God will always provide for us in the end. That’s what this book is talking about

I remember Job in the bible. It was very good to learn from his example. Job had a strong faith in Jehovah and Jehovah had blessed him with everything. However, Satan wasn’t happy about that. Satan had told Jehovah God that he’ll destroy Job’s faith to Jah by destroy Job’s daughters and sons, his animals, etc. Jehovah had allowed that because, to see that Job is truly faithful to Jehovah no matter how bad the situation is. When everything that happened, Job managed to keep his faith in Jehovah and he suffer a lot. Then Jehovah noticed Job was continue to have his faith in him. Then Jehovah told Satan that there an prove that there are some people are very faithful and trust in Jehovah God. Satan wasn’t happy about that. However, this is an good example for us to be aware if anyone serve Jehovah with all their heart, mind, soul, and strength. It doesn’t mean that we finish reading the bible, no, we must continue to read for the rest of our life and meditate his words. Always pray to Jehovah for wisdom and knowledge of everything. xoxo

I agree with you and will take it one step further. Job was innocent and praised god. God kills his children and then some (i.e., allows the devil to do so in a bet), when Job did no wrong, but when Job asked 'why,' god shows how powerful he is? Really? He shows Job why he should be afraid and kneel before him? And Christian find this story to be moral and just? "But he got more children afterwards, so Job can forget the children that was killed by the 'awesome power of the all powerful loving god." Give me a break. This is simply nonsense and Christian are forced to do mental gymnastics to explain the murder of innocent children. MURDERING INNOCENT CHILDREN, PEOPLE!!!! How perverted do Christians have to be to find this story good and moral. It's no wonder Catholics remained Catholics even after finding out that their priests, for decades, were raping children, but the church's leaders use their money & power to silence the victims and protect the pedophiles by simply moving them elsewhere where they repeated these heinous crimes. Hmmm, I believe that Christians would go back to sacrificing children on an altar if they believed it was god's will.

His ten sons and his possessions were actually kept safe close by during his trials. His sons, servants and animals were actually driven out of their home and in hiding rather than killed. Life as they knew it died. Like pre and post Covid 19. The separation from his children was a death in itself. G-d agrees with Satan’s requests to test Iyov on multiple occasions after G-d spoke highly of Iyov’s kindness and righteousness but does not allow the Satan to lay a hand on him nor is he permitted to kill him. By killing Iyov’s children, it would intrinsically kill Iyov as well, killing of the soul from being deprived of his life, his children. The Satan is a type of prosecutor and brings challenges to a person for them to overcome, for the person to choose to do good, free will. Satan goes after his possessions, his life and his body. Satan even confronts Iyov face to face while he was in peace and threatens his life while working. Iyov was extremely vigilant, and was not sure that he would come home alive day after day however still trusting G-d. He knew he was destined to the sword, this decree of darkness. Iyov has a relationship and trust in G-d and was ready to use his sword if in danger of being attacked. Iyov would have fought for his life, putting his life in danger by defending G-d. Satan was unsuccessful in his claim that Iyov would give up everything in order to save his own life. G-d becomes upset with Satan telling him that he harmed Iyov for no good reason. Iyov has a great life and Satan wants to see if Iyov will curse G-d if everything is taken away from him and claims man has no real value. Iyov has suffered this extreme pain of losing his children, wife, friends for over a year, under the influence of the Satan. He is even taken to court on false accusations but proved his loyalty by his trust in G-d, G-d was also there for him in this moment by allowing his presence to reveal itself. Iyov saw this as a sign of loyalty from Hashem. Iyov demands an answer from G-d on why he is suffering after such a long time without an answer, Iyov suffered in silence nobody helped him. G-d explains to Iyov that he is a righteous man and no he did not do anything wrong and no he did not deserve this. Everything comes from G-d, G-d put Iyov through this intense pain for the purpose for Iyov to realize that there is nobody to turn to but G-d. Iyov realizes his mistake, his relationship with G-d was based on “deal making”. I do this for you, you do this for me. This is business, not a relationship. Iyov begs G-d for forgiveness and realizes how selfish he was realizing how little he really understands. We are not in control of the things that happen to us however we are in control of how we respond, our choices. Iyov prays for the mercy of his peers that the harmful inevitable decrees be lifted for blaming the victim. Iyov suffered so much that he couldn’t bare to allow his friends and wife to suffer even after all of the pain they caused him. G-d then forgave Iyov when his children and family returned to him and he was blessed. Iyov teaches us that every tear counts, as long as it is used for clarity, it is purposeful.

Im going to be non bias. This comes off as a selfish person wanting credit for the good they do. Why? Because it wasn’t like Job didn’t appreciate God. After all, he was a righteous man. Secondly, God is all knowing. If God knew what Job would do, why let the Devil do this. Sure there could’ve been less intrusive ways to teach a lesson than to kill innocent people. Just so you can replace with others. You can’t replace my dead child with another. I will forever miss my dead child. Lastly, it seems to me that the Devil needed a reminder on who God was not Job. Are you seriously trying to tell me that the devil wasn’t more deserving to die than Job’s family. Yet God just keeps him around. 🤷‍♂️

So what, the exact passage says "There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was blameless and upright, and one who feared God and shunned evil." My question to you is how does good works make you faithful to God? doesn't Jesus say and Paul write that good works dont save us? You can a good life and still miss the point of the Gospel. In mathew 7:21-23 it states "Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ 23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness."In ephesians it says "For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast." Just doing good actions doesn't mean that your faithful to God nor doing God's will. If don't believe me that Job is just doing good works then lets compare to another rightous man in Genesis whose name is Noah. In Genesis 6:9 it says that "Noah was a righteous man, blameless in his generation. Noah walked with God. Now lets compare Job 1:1 with Genesis 6:9. If we do that we see that both are blameless men but only one walked with God. Now I am not trying to make the case that Job was doing bad things but I am trying to look pass the action and look at the motive. In Job 1:5 it states"And when the days of the feast had run their course, Job would send and consecrate them, and he would rise early in the morning and offer burnt offerings according to the number of them all. For Job said, “It may be that my children have sinned, and cursed God in their hearts.” Thus Job did continually." Though it gives subtle infrence you must realize that Job is not relying on the realtionship he was walking with God, but instead relying only on works and scrafices he is offering up . The mindset is what if my children die and don't have all their sins paid for. God will not be appeased I better make enough sacrafices and offerings so they can make it into heaven. Now Job wants to follow God but he thinks it is about he does to earn Gods grace and blessings. It is not about walking with God lke Abarham and Noah but more about appeasing God with works and sacrafices which we already went over won't get you into heavan.I mean look at Abarham he barley knows God but believes in God which Paul points out that is the reason that Abarham is righteous, because he has earned faith by grace and not works like Job.Now I guess you may point out the end of Job when it says " Then Job arose and tore his robe and shaved his head and fell on the ground and worshiped. And he said, “Naked I came from my mother's womb, and naked shall I return. The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord. In all this Job did not sin or charge God with wrong.” Now it may seem moral to do this but I would to fight against this because if Job truly is faithful why isn't he asking God what happend, and why he was punished? Another qusetion would be why isn't Job talking to God ? If you look at the text he is only talking about God and not being faithful in talking to God for help and only about God for help.If Job is truly faithful like you proclaim than why not talk to God if he walks with him. Now lets go to chapter 2 of the book of Job. Satan comes back and gives Job sores "Then his wife said to him, “Do you still hold fast your integrity? Curse God and die.” But he said to her, “You speak as one of the foolish women would speak. Shall we receive good from God, and shall we not receive evil?” In all this Job did not sin with his lips" I find quite intresting that it says Job did not sin with his lips. I mean we went from not charging God to not sining with his lips why not repeat the phrase that God didn't charge God with wrong. The reason? something diffrent has happend to Job and this is seen in chapter 3 “Let the day perish on which I was born, and the night that said, ‘A man is conceived.’ Let that day be darkness! May God above not seek it, nor light shine upon it. Let gloom and deep darkness claim it. Let clouds dwell upon it; let the blackness of the day terrify it." In seems Jobs wants death over life wouldn't you say. One might even say that chapter 3 of Job is a love letter to death, and its funny because in Proverbs 8 verse 36 it stats"All who hat me love death." If the bible teaches God is life then to reject life is to accept death. Now this case destroys what your saying because if Job is not faithful and God is all knowing then this is the only way to make Job faithful, and if Job is not faithful than Job needed a lesson not the devil. The devil has no chance because the devil though wants hell understands what it is and wants to stay away from thefore a logical wouldn't waste there time teaching the devil if this God is all knowing. Now you maybe confused on hell then check this video out ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tiYf6ITgWbk.html. My point is Job must be faithful in order for your case to make sense. Also if the devil were destroyed how would that fix anything. It wouldn't you must philosiphical assumption that all evil is in affect because of the devil instead that it is in affect because of love just like how darkness is an affect from light. As a matter of fact the devil was right in saying that Job wasn't loyal to God but only loyal because of the gifts he reiceved read Job again and notice how he falls apart as everything is taken away from him. I hope this helps somehow and nice comment by the way I thought is was cool that you capitialized God.

Even though he was righteous in many of his ways he still wasn’t aware of the true power of God and his supreme rulership and his mysterious ways because he’s only a man, therefore Job later realized I thought I knew your ways and what you require but now I know you in a whole different level and all I can do is trust you and continue to know you through my time on this earth.

We too quickly assume, because we caught the conversation between God and Satan in the opening narrative, that we know why Job was undergoing this trial. We would be wrong, the conversation may have initiated the trials but the purposes that God had behind the trials were much bigger than that, Satan too was just a pawn in the plan. God was bringing to humankind the understanding that trumps the simplistic idea that bad things happen to bad people. Job was right, he was a righteous man and he wasn't being punished for sins, past or future. Amongst the purposes of God in Job's suffering was, Job being brought to an understanding of redemptive suffering, an after-life theology and the need for an intermediary and redeemer. This book is such an amazing prelude to the incarnation, suffering and redeeming work of Jesus. Dr. Duane Garrett
