not ginny of course, but i just finished my degree in molecular bio/chemistry and i'd say you probably don't need to splurge for the pro, if you don't want to-- especially if you're not planning to do heavy bioinformatics or anything that would require a comparable level of computing power

@@cpilaf thank you for the input!! i'm definitely not using any heavy bioinformatics databases, so i think i will go for the air!

I personally recommend the pro! Many of my colleagues who has/had an air loved it the first 1-2 years, then complain it slows down way too much and can't handle research writing by year 3-4 (ie when you need to have a million tabs open). The pro is guaranteed to work really well beyond 4 years and colleagues who invested in a pro have never regretted their decision!

fellow bio undergrad, i have the pro and it suits me very well. It seems more reliable and it has a fan which really helps
