I absolutely love the visual nature of your channel; you're so engaging and I love how welcoming you are about education - it makes me feel so much more inspired to revise than a youtube who, for example, might complain about their workload
Scoping the subject is the way of life! I did this recently , I made the entire syllabus in form of questions and actually finished learning the entire subject in two days. Especially for engineering students it's extremely useful. 1. Scope 2. Questions 3. Make diagram , construction, operation and advantage and disadvantage and finally application. Also, always mention formula next to diagram. All theory subjects will need this! For problem papers, solving, making formula sheet through active recall, cos it's the way of life as well and being confident. Makes a whole world of difference. Good luck engineering students!!

Your videos have really helped me with my revision for my final year! I'm studying Investment & Financial Risk Management and for the active recall using google sheets, I included the past year questions instead of my own questions. It helped me identify the key areas of a topic to focus on rather than memorising or studying everything about a topic.
Going from volunteering for a rectal exam straight to lunch was a too fast cut for me... anyway: I love your videos, just recently saw you in my 'recomended' section and am now binging through your videos! Its really helpful!

Great video Ali albeit the thing is in final year it’s there a way to try something new without affecting the GPA. More like a trial test before the finals.
I used to change up my study locations every couple weeks when at uni! It really helped me a lot, I especially liked studying at another college's library - they had a much nicer interior there ;D And say hi to Paul too :) Totally agree on what he said about student supervisors.. unfortunately this kind of system is not common where I live. Hey Ali! You mentioned how you use notes made by older medics, so I was wondering, have/would you consider(ed) passing on your active recall spreadsheets to future students?
My final exams start in a week and a half. To prepare for them I've solely been using active recall and spaced repitipon as well as your retrospective revision timetable and question writing method. The ways to study I had been using in the past weren't nearly as effective and I wasn't getting the marks I wanted despite the amount of effort I felt I put in. So wish me luck and hopefully I'll do well🤞. Love your videos BTW :)

Have you any tips on revision for Tuesday before assessment? I have no access to past papers but we all got to do a practice on during class. Hey Ali could you please give us something like a structure (e.g. step-by-step) for active recall? I get the gist of it but I would now like to know how to start with it. Like how to space out the recall, what method of recall (write it down vs just trying to recall it in your head). How much to put into each recall question. thanks!!
Hi Ali. Thank yoou for all your superb advices! I love watching your suggestions and some have truly inspired me for my studies. I am impressed by your disciplined and yet very positive approach to your academic field. I was wondering about if you knew the headset HALO, which is more for physical exercises. However I have found a way of memorizing easily through repetition the knowledge by virtually "conducting" the content of my notes. It activates parts of the brain which easens the process of memorizing.
@aliabdaal I tend to do a 50 minute pomodoro with a 10 minute break, because just like you, sometimes I feel like taking a break after 25 minutes messes up the flow.
It's absurd to go through past year papers to memorize mark schemes and the "buzz words" when actually the theoretical knowledge of the topic (with or without the buzz words) is much more important 😐😐😐

Sungit Diaries he has a playlist on spotify its study with me (basically instrumentals) And by the way, it is not recommended to listen to music while studying. But he does it to get in the right mood as it is exhausting to get the grades he gets

Esraa Highstar Cambridge: sleep 4 hours a night, still have 5 essays left to write 'Normal' uni: every hour is happy hour JK lmao from what I have gathered (and I'm year 12 looking to apply to unis this year, one of which is Cambridge) there's several differences but I see it as a scale, not 'normal' vs 'oxbridge' 1. Term time is 8 weeks vs normal 12 weeks so really intense term times - time management is required and key 2. Tradition (outdated rules etc etc) 3. Collegiate organisation 4. Campus type - college campus 5. Damn intense interview admissions/ science subjects might require MAT or STEP/ interview assessments usually in October 6. If you're not passionate about your subject, don't even try applying 7. If you're insecure about being the best in the class/ year, stop it before u break ur lil ego 8. Even the best get rejected and by no means is Oxbridge for everyone - some incredibly smart people don't get in because wrong course/ admissions nerves/plain bad luck
Hello there :) I have been trying to decide for so long between the iPad 10.5 Pro and the new 6th generation for taking notes (Physiotherapy course) and I have seen you recently say that you usually recommend more the 2018 one rather than the 10.5 Pro (even if you have the latter). Could you please give me a little more details why? I haven’t gotten to see them in store yet but the only thing I am worried is that so many people complained about the fact that the screen isn’t laminated; which I am not sure if it really is that big of a deal. When you don’t know the answer to a question, why do you refer to google rather than the active recall sheets that you have made already with the answers?
