she's absolutely right, because EVERYONE, IF U WANT TO MAJOR IN ART BUT THINK THAT IT'S AN UNRELIABLE CAREER, DON'T GIVE UP JUST BECAUSE OF THAT, because i did, i followed what my parents wanted me to do and now i'm studying international law, i'm a sophomore in college and i've been suffering from major depression for more than a year already because i've zero interest in law, and basically lost my way now. SO PEOPLE, DO WHAT MAKES U HAPPY AND KEEPS U INTERESTED, U ONLY LIVE ONCE, DON'T LIVE UR LIFE REGRETTING UR CHOICES💖💖

Vatsala Singh i understand you so well but to some it is easy really, a bunch of people around, including my few friends had it easy because their family was supportive, but eh, i guess it is for some people only :( i, on the other hand, decided to continue studying whatever i had taken up already because indeed making money with that is much easier, but i’m doing whatever i wanted to do with art as a side-thing. if whatever you’re studying now is totally unbearable to you, now that’s the worst, because you won’t be able to concentrate on it and study it either. i hope things get better for you💜🌱

im not even kidding ur story is pretty much the same as me. my mom thought i was going to go for engineering but i decided for arts and trust me, its not easy knowing how many people degrade me just because i want to pursue something i love. i cried many times but im very determined to prove to them that people who take arts can be successful too.

My god you literally put my thoughts into words. My mom always says that i can do art as a side thing but like.. i don‘t want to do that. The only thing that‘s keeping me from studying art are my crippling self doubts and the fact that i have nothing to put in a portfolio to apply... but your video was very encouraging so i might think this through another time. I've always wanted to go to Art Uni. but none of my relatives supported me, I am taking Accounting, and in second year now. I love this course too, but Art is what I really love. Guys, if you love something, do it. You'll regret it in the end. Hopefully, im not regretting my course so much, since I like accounting too. But really, No course can beat my love from arts. Im doing art as a hobby now.

I have been watching your videos for quite a while. It is so interesting because I am in 3rd year of med school. But my dad always wanted me to study art and become an art teacher, instead of going into medicine. But when I was younger, I have a super talented friend who made me realize I don’t get talent in art. I am very passionate abt medicine, so I am regretting nothing. But lately since I started drawing again, I realized I have become a much happier person:)

I am currently in the first year of my fine art degree and it was actually my mom that encouraged me to go study fine art because she saw that I loved to draw and create. I agree with you in the aspect of not leaving things until the last minute because it can be quite daunting to come up with an entire concept at the last minute. Being the only African person in my course and also being the youngest, i find it hard to make friends with my coursemates and I always get this feeling that my work is not good enough.

I wish I had seen this video two years ago. I went to study in London but got cold feet and came back three weeks later and only this year I applied again for uni but in Portugal. Thank you for this video. It was very reassuring as I'll be going to Leeds Arts uni this September. I finally decided to pursue what I love as well after a year of studying in uni in my country and then another one of working a job. And my application story is similar to yours in that I also applied past the official deadlines. I still got accepted but not in the foundation year, as all spaces were filled already, I'll be doing an access to higher education in art and design this year and I'm sooo excited! Also, lovely panting! The way you did the skin tone is just sooo good.

I am almost in the same place as you were. I wanna study art, I don't know exactly what kind of art, but I think I would like animation/illustration. Unfortunately in my country isn't this specific specialization and going to uni in another country seems impossible, especially for my family because of the enormous price and they think that I can't handle this all by myself. They are like: you don't speak english properly, how you will pay back all the money, how you can study and work at the same time and they just think I'm not made for the uni, like it's some paradise and I'm too small for it. I, aswell, went to the same school since I was 7 only beacuse I was familiar with it and I was really struggling with socializing. I still am but not that much, like if there are keen people I integrate super fast if they don't think I'm weird :)) I try to improve myself as a person and in my art but noone is motivating me. I will not give up because always when I want something with all my heart and soul I acheive it. I am very ambitious when I really want something and I hope the future will bring some positive things for me! I found your channel few weeks ago and I absolutely love your art style and videos. I subscribed of course. AND ALSO THAT WASHI TAPE IS ADORABLE. I WANT ONE.

Just a little comment to help you improve your art : The face was stunning, i could not help to stare at it the whole time but i feel like her body part was a little flat (no much 3d or the orientation was'nt the same as the face) and a little small which seems unnatural to me. What about financial matters? I've been thinking about studying abroad ever since I can remember (especially in Leeds, been looking at uni there ever since I was in 6th grade!) but my parents aren't keen on that and really want me to study here in Portugal because it's going to cost quite a lot... so how was your experience on that matter?

Thankfully i managed to get my student finance from the government in the uk as they give financial support to EU students - you should have a look into that at gov.uk ! Idk what the student financial help is like in Portugal but it’s amazing in the UK!

Im in loveeee with your art it looks amazing. Also your advices were very useful thank you so much. But I have a question. I want to study animation in Florence Fine Arts Academia but Im not really sure if it will be the best choice and I still have dobuts about studying animation. So when you mentioned about the foundation year I thought this is exactly what I need. the question is can I study this foundation year in Leeds University to figure out what I want to do and then transfer to another school?
