I tried using copper mesh, not over weep hole, but over an actual hole in the wall in my home (as kinda like chicken wire) & the rodents chewed right through it.
The problem with stuff it is that it's expensive even for pest controllers to buy, I can go on Amazon and get a similar product for literally 1/3 or 1/4 the price of stuff it
Thank you. 3:40 Should we just leave it like that without securing it? The rat won't be able to chew through it but can they pull it out or push through the hole? It’s also odd looking without anything covering it.
If you're only dealing with insects, then the way the mesh is packed at 3:40 should be enough. If you find it's falling out due to weather or other factors, you can always pack it tighter. If you're dealing with rats, you may want to seal the edges with caulk, or you can cover the area with a foam sealant.
I have a 1950s stucco home. One corner of my house has a 1/2 gap where the stucco overhangs the foundation cinder blocks. I suspect this is the source of my mouse probelm. I read that this is an air gap to allow the stucco to breathe and stay dry. Would it be safe to pack the gap with copper mesh?
