Stump Master Magicians With This Card Trick 

My wife now thinks I did a miracle. I tried this trick on my wife. It failed. I restacked the cards and let her shuffle the cards again and cut the cards again. She picked the exact same card. The best card force I have ever done.

For those still watching this, the hidden beauty of this video is the technique he uses for a new deck to Stacked was perfected by Darwin Ortiz called the SI Stebbins Secret that he published in 1988. Once it’s practiced, it can be done really well just like it’s shown in the video. It’s great if you open a fresh deck of USPCC NDO cards and want to go straight into a Chased routine or two! I highly recommend hunting it down, it opens you to a world of possibilities!

The most impressive is Michael getting the deck in order in front of their faces without them calling it out!

All I can say is that after watching them explain how they do it, I am more impressed than had it been actual magic. You have to be smart, dexterous and quick minded.

i actually did this yesterday, totally bc these guys asked if they could shuffle while I wasplaying with si stebbins. I said sure and they overhand shuffled! my mind went… wait… i think I’m still ok… so I kept going… worked every time,...

Saw you first on P&T and was BLOWN AWAY by how much better of a “natural showman” you are then most who come on their show. You didn’t fool them but you were extremely entertaining. Congrats on bringing that same quality to ScamSchool. This is a GREAT RU-vid show and you are a really great showman.

Whenever anything goes wrong, you could just end with the invisable deck. He or she tells you the card and you say you have it reversed in another deck.

Me:give the cards a little mix. Spectator:sure! (starts riffle shuffling) Me:Fuck this shit!!!am out

I recognized how the trick worked purely because I watched the devils picturebook, and derren talked about how an OH shuffle can retain an order to a degree. This is such a creative way to utilize that principle though!

There was a mention when you put the rest of the cards away and the top and the bottom cards are different, chances are then 50/50. In this case, take both cards in the second deck, move one on the top of the second deck and place the other card next to the card on the table. That way even if it is the wrong card, you can save it by asking someone else to check the top card on the second deck. Or palm the card when you take the other one from the second deck and produce it from somewhere.

After watching for several years, I find this video to be possibly the most important, and best video on Scam Nation. The idea of taking risks with your magic is just a game changer. This video almost shouldn't be available for free.

Three of my favorite things in life in this video...Beer, Good Company (friends) and Magic. Awesome trick, can't wait to try it out.

Best reveal ever on Scam School in this episode! You can find public domain magic books on the internet. I haven't ever even thought about that. I have a brand new ink cartridge on my printer and plan on wearing it out quickly!

Last guy to shuffle was a total bro. If you look, he did a series of cuts and picked up the entire deck each time instead of an actual shuffle. There were only cuts, so he didn't mess up the order If you can get a friend to false shuffle for you, along with someone actually stuffing, it'll look even better.

i can perform a miracle i can predict any card from a random shuffled deck not looking at the cards unfortunately only works 1/52 times.

somehow I always end up in the 10% where the trick doesn't work

After 6 years of watching Scam School (and Sam Shoo!) I went from first time handling a deck to instantly figuring out the method and I felt like such a beast when I saw that my guess was correct. Thank you Brian Brushwood! Also, I think it's about time you had me on your show. :D

I used to use that deck formation when i was a little boy. Its been 30yrs since i have even heard of that. Thanks for the nostalgia. There is so many tricks you can do with that. Great vid.

Just as general info: Annemann says that he found the idea "mentioned in one of Ellis Stanyon's magazines back around 1907" so we can safely assume that this is not one of Annemann's original tricks. I guess.

This man is a business genius. I remember a long time ago posting on his scam school videos that I thought they were boring. He did one of the following Did he; (A) Get angry and insult me (B) Ignore me (C) Ask me exactly what I didn't like as to get more Information for his channel It was (C). I learned an important lesson that day. I learned that all lessons should be about what's important.

If you fall into the 10%, you can equally try to get a read in when proposing colours or numbers. It makes the trick around 80% instead of 50/50 if you end up in the 10%.

Well... it works... if not the first time, the second time will (as mentioned in the book of Annemann)... but... the "real" trick here is the method (or the routine) to stack the deck, from new deck order to SiStebbins.

This was such a great episode to watch, seeing four magicians nerd out using terms I do not understand; and yet, however, I feel almost like I'm one of them while watching 🤙

I think I was more fooled by the table of interns sitting RIGHT behind them the whole time (purposefully not being intrigued and looking at what FOUR magicians are talking loudly about)

I love magic that fools magicians by tricking them into eliminating the method they already knew. Years ago, I learned about stacks from Juan Tamariz's excellent book, Mnemonica. By far, the best effect in that book is Mnemonicosis. It's an incredibly strong divination effect where the spectator names a card and the magician gives them some simple directions to locate the card in a deck laying on the table, typically by a cut or count. That description sounds super dry and obvious to anybody who's ever handled a memorized deck but, in practice, it consistently slays people *if* you know how to sell it. Nobody ever suspects a stack because the magician doesn't touch the cards. They try to reconstruct the trick from the improvised directions you give them and they're forced to conclude that it's impossible.

I like a smooth brown ale. It would be great to cover your/my bar tab. I like these tricks(magic). Close up kinda stuff. I don't need to vanish the Statue of Liberty For me, dexterity is a problem. My inept stubby fingers have their difficulties. Much like the piano, typing, or knotting my shoelaces. I do have a couple that has fooled my grandkids (twin eight-year-olds)and three inebriated adults.

the one thing to keep track of of when dissecting a trick is every action the performer does. In this case that is the handling of the cards before giving it off to someone else, which narrows it down a lot.

If you spot the top and bottom cards and you've 'hit a break', you can pull out both options, get them to show their card and then do an equivoce to get the right one of the two. Just an idea guys.

definitely one of my favourite episode of Scam School of all the episodes i’ve seen. :)

I like to carry a deck of cards with me wherever I go. If someone walks into the room, I'll say, "Quick! Name any card in the deck!" They'll name a random card like the Queen of Diamonds. I'll cut to the middle of the deck and say, "BAM!" while I hold up the card that I cut to. 99.99% of the time, it's the wrong card. If that's the case, I'll say, "Dang! One day it will work and it will blow everyone's mind!" The first time it did work, I acted like I knew exactly what I was doing. The person in my group thought I was a wizard. A few months ago, I was meeting up with a group of about 10 people for lunch. The 4 that I was with knew the "trick" and would play along if I got it right. The next guy to show up to our table arrived and I told him to name any card. I cut to that card and he almost fell to the floor! He asked me to do it again and I did because I think explaining the gag is more funny than the actual trick. He named a different card and, "BAM!" I actually cut to it! The other guys at the table were freaking out. I played it cool. A few minutes later, another person showed up and the amazed guy was like, "Show him the trick!!!" So I told the new guy to name a card.... "BAM!" I go it right again! I kid you not! 3 times in a row! I decided not to press my luck anymore and refused to do that trick again.

Every time I get them to give it a quick “mix,” they riffle shuffle about 3 times FML.

a ton of people have been wondering what the quick method for is stebbins is. sry Brian. if you faro a deck 8 times, perfectly, while having the last card on the right on the outside, you will put it back in perfect order. I always start with the six of clubs, but you can use whatever. Take your starting clubs card and get every other clubs depending down and restarting the cycle. so 6 5 4 3 2 A K Q J 10 9 8 7. all clubs. then take hearts, start three up, so in this case 9, and do it again. 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 A K Q J 10. do the same with spades starting at Q, and then diamonds starting at two. Put the four packets ordering clubs hearts spades diamonds, so that the 3 of diamonds is at the bottom. faro twice, with the right end on the outside. this will make is stebbins. with a new deck, simply reverse the order and two of the suits, and then cut and complete on all four to get into the four packets from earlier.

I once performed an impossible trick where I had a friend think of a number, then a colour(black or red) then between clubs or spades, diamonds or hearts if it was black or red. At this point he had a card in his mind then had him say stop whenever as I riffled down the deck and i stopped on his card

The trick is when they name the card they look at their eyes and their eyes give the answer to the card that was picked, I think it has to do with the pupils.. David Blaine does it and that guy from England and the rocker guy from Vegas

Lol, when I saw the title and heard you say it fooled you I was like: "well yeah, it's actually quite easy to fool a magician, it requires no skill at all, literally". 2 minutes into the video: "there are no moves", exactly! All their knowledge works against them. :p

If you have two options. Just keep a backup if the reveal fails.
