I bought a can of potted meat at the gas station because I wanted something quick and easy. I ate it with cheese crackers then ate it on a piece of bread. My grandmother passed away 8 years ago and she introduced me to potted meat on crackers. I miss her very much and really enjoyed your video brother, brought back some good memories. I just bought some and had it on mini toast in memory of my mother who just passed away. When I was a child we’d often snack on canned pâté but the rural area I live pâté is impossible to find so I settled for potted meat. It was just as delicious!
I've been known to eat a sleeve of saltines with a can of potted meat for dinner. My husband just shakes his head at the sight of the table, his "normal" looking dinner and my dinner! 🤣
Mr. Stump; You're a good man. My American Grandaddy (a real Southern Gentleman), introduced me to Potted Meat when I was about seven years old, and I've never looked back. It was (and is) the very thing for hiking, camping, a day on the river bank, or a quiet night watching movies at home. My wife didn't much care for it, but my daughter was like me, and couldn't get enough. I'm about to turn 71 here in a few days, and it STILL hits the spot. Thankee much for the little demonstration. Saw it last night, and went into town this AM, and got some Armour Potted Meat, and sittin' here now, indulging in pleasant memories, with you, Grandaddy, and my little girl. Many thanks.
your welcome..i'm 72 and still eat it..even the way i do in the video.. i ate it when i was young...i was once 240 pounds many years ago, and i started eating potted meat and tuna straight out of the cans with crackers,and lost weight..i love the stuff...if you haven't tried Great Value Brand its pretty good also
@@RT-qd8yl losing weight is not easy i'll give you that..for me the potted meat helped me lose weight by eating only it at lunch..i also started working a part time job where i walked a good bit..lol....not eating everyday can't be good tho...you need to trigger your metabolism every day
Same here although I’m 52yo now lol. I can’t tell how many times my supper was a small bowl with Armour brand pm in it and a sleeve of Ritz crackers and maybe a big dill pickle cut up. You just did what you had to do. But even today I still eat it especially at night for a snack!
Thanks for sharing your lunch with us. Grew up on potted meat sandwiches, my mother made them for my school lunch. Old school, potted meat on white bread, American cheese, yellow mustard. Right up there with a peanut butter and mayonnaise sandwich. Keep it rolling my man.
Hello from Alabama, Stump!!!! I am eating some potted meat as we speak 😅 yummmm. Makes me think of going fishing with my mom & dad as a kid. We always brought saltine crackers, potted meat and/or vienna sausages and of course hot sauce & sardines!!! Big part of my childhood :) thanks for the vid!!!
I haven't tasted potted meat since I was a teenager living in WV, fifty years ago! . I remembered how much I liked it so I bought some recently and tried it today. Yep ..I still like it. I'll be buying more a quick lunch.

I am going to be 37 this year and my Korean war veteran grandfather introduced me to potted meat when I was about seven or eight. And every once in a while I'll go on a Kick where I eat it with saltines. We were out of saltines one night and I had Doritos and I thought I would give it a try and boy I'm glad I did. I don't eat it very often as the salt content will cause my ankles to swell and I always drink water with it. But man those Doritos and potted meat are good.
Back in the 70's when we'd visit Mamaw she'd make us grandkids potted meat and cheese sandwiches..when she could get us to come inside lol...just straight out of the can and slap a piece of cheese on white bread...man they were good
when i gave up sandwiches at work i'd bring potted meat and crackers..also ate it straight out of can..eating that and tuna out of can ,i lost about 10 pounds in 6 to 8 months...lol
Looks tasty. My dad and I would take a few cans of potted meat and the canned winnies with us fishing when I was just a weed stock. Heck of a meal. Going down to the dollar tree to get me a stack of cans. Thanks for sharing.

Stump, you forgot the minced celery. Ah well. When I get a craving I just toss in a spoonful of mayo which makes it too messy for a sandvich. Just slurp up that stuff right out of the bowl. Slice or two of bread to wash it down with optional. Takes me about 30 seconds for a good healthful Alabama luncheon.
I ate it spread on saltine crackers all my life until about 10 years ago when I stopped after discovering the incredible amount of sodium in one little can. Ditto for Vienna Sausages.

try a small taste..example..alittle potted meat on a ritz cracker with peanut butter..if u like it then try a flap over...peanut butter goes with alot.. lettuce...onions..many other things...i ate peanut butter andhamburger long before it became popular
