Question 8: I am struggling with player A1 still getting the FT based on language in 9.1 Penalties 1 and 1a. Foul occurs during the FT which is second of two 1. Says no point can be scored on that throw. While it says violation, 1a defines a personal fouls as a FT violation 1. If the first or only violation is by the free thrower or a teammate, the ball becomes dead when the violation occurs, and no point can be scored by that throw. The following out-of-bounds provisions apply if no further free throws are to be administered: a. If the violation occurs during a free throw for a personal foul, other than intentional or flagrant, the ball is awarded to the opponents for a throw-in from the designated out-of-bounds spot nearest the violation.

thanks for this! for #3, would it be double technical without free throws in NCAAW?

With regards to the "2nd most missed question" you gave an example of the table holding up 5 fingers...this happened in my foundation game just last night. Player committed a player control foul. Table held up 5 fingers and this just so happened to be the team's 5th foul, but since it was player control we weren't shooting free throws...but...the table meant that was his 5th foul. As the new trail and far away from the table I simply administered the throw in until they buzzed the horn and said that's his 5th foul. Thank you for the tip on pre-gaming with the table about what to do if/when this happens again.

Re: Question #1. If team control exists on a throw-in only for adjudicating fouls, wouldn't there be no team control on a deflected or muffed inbounds pass? If so, it seems only the game clock should start on the touch. Then the shot clock should start when team control is established on the court. If either team has recovered the loose ball in their back court, a 10-second count starts then. It seems this would apply everywhere, with or without a shot clock.

I thought that in NFHS rules, a technical foul by both teams would offset and you would not shoot any foul shots
