Oh wow, I directed this video! I haven't see it since then. Crazy long day in Boston, did two/three? videos the same day I think. Shot on 16mm and my super vhs cameras as 2nd and third. Crazy time, did I mention really long day. What amazing musicians.
One year after being uploaded... less than 2,000 hits? Man... this is awful. One of the cleanest, purest AOR/melodic hard rock albums, and I could upload a video of a penguin takin' a dump and it would get more hits. Sad state of affairs. To the band, if you guys visit this page... absolutely magical album from star to finish. There are still many of us who love this album, and on behalf of all of them- thank you- for this truly elegant piece of music. :)
+TheAorfreak technically Doug Howard released a solo album that it was supposed to be the second Stun Leer album. It's called "Last man standing" and it was released on 2000 on MTM Music too. In fact it was released as "Doug Howard of Stun Leer"...
Damn, the drummer is Derek Blevins from Johanna Wild and Jon Butcher Axis, two old Boston bands. He rocks. When he left the Axis I didn't know he did any more music in bands, let alone a hair band! He left the Rock seen for personal religious reasons and founded a ministry I believe. He has been around the Boston playing here an there on occasion and I was lucky enough to run into him. Nice guy, chill dude!
Derek was a good friend of my late uncle Sandy Higgins, who I believe replaced Charlie Farren in Balloon. I remember growing up and hearing all these bands, not knowing anything about the connections, but it's cool to see all these videos now with the knowledge that my uncle knew and hung out with and played with all these local guys. The guitar he used to play back in those days is a prized possession of mine now and I only play it on occasion.
The video description says this is from 1988 (and the video does look so), but everywhere else I see 1997 or 1998 as the release year. Which one is correct?
