Thanks Steve, yeah they are a tricky bird and spend so much time high in the canopy on returning lower when the windy wet weather comes in, the wind got up that day and after a splash of rain I was lucky to get a shot down low. Cheers R👍
Once again another array of different birds and the colours are amazing. Great to see you enjoying what Canada has to offer. Look forward to what comes next.👍😁🥰
So nice of you to say Alison, thanks very much indeed, got to make the most of it whilst you are here! Before you know it I'll be back in beautiful Cornwall. x
Another great video. I love seeing the different birds to the UK and you are giving us the opportunity to do that, keep going, you can’t please everyone. I for one can imagine being by the river listening to the birds because I do it here, you bring it all to life. Lucky you…..👍
Thanks a lot Mel, I'm glad you do and it's a shame all aren't as interested but it certainly opens your eyes as a birder and photographer of what other Countries have to offer. Yes, the river is a special place and so relaxing. Thanks again for watching and commenting. R👍
Rich, thank you for another wonderful video of beautiful birds. The Scarlet Tanager! Wow. I'm off of sugar for a year now but please have a piece of carrot cake for me!
Many thanks Mike, they are pretty bright aren't they! I was so lucky with the Tanagers as they rarely come down low unless the weather comes in! Still that European Goldfinch is a beauty and my 7 year old sons favourite bird. Thanks R👍
Another great video today, Richard. Awesome variety of photos of so many different birds. I appreciate that the hide presents some different opportunities, but personally I would rather be on the move or sitting by the stream. The waters edge would be a nice place for the hide too. A bit more of an open view. Cheers, Phil
Thanks Phil, I do totally agree and love being on the move but sometimes it's nice to sit and chill! That Coyote was captured whilst I was there hence why I heard a noise in the undergrowth! Must of got wind of me. Yeah, hide and the waters edge. Very tranquil indeed. R👍
Fantastic stuff Rich! Some stunning bird there including the blue jays, Baltimore orioles & scarlet tanager. Personally my favourite is still the coopers hawk, I’m drawn to raptors & owls & there’s just something about them for me. A great vlog showcasing some wonderful species, with some great tips and advice too. Keep on keeping on mate! Best, Nick
Thanks Nick, some real brightly coloured birds here in North America! Yeah, the Coopers is such a treat and although I don't always see it when I do it never fails to give me a buzz! And for me, truly amazing. Cheers Rich 👍
Another great video showing people what stunning wildlife is around for all to see. Your videos are in sync with my days out; first the vulture, then the loon, now the oriole - one flew across the road in front of me yesterday 😁 Couldn’t find it to photograph but the app confirmed it was singing. Great footage of the oriole displaying. And the tanager, what a beauty! Wow! Anyone who thinks you’ve lost your excitement for this probably hasn’t seen your howling coyotes short 🤣
Thanks very much for watching, always nice to have someone in Country watching the video! Such stunning wildlife in Canada, especially in the Spring. It's great we are aligned, lol... The Orioles are so beautiful and the Tanager came down lower to the ground when the wind got up allowing me to get a few better shots, such a beautiful bird. Yeah, Lol.... I did get just a bit excited! Did I say incredible... Thanks R👍
Great video Richard. Long Point (Norfolk County) on Lake Erie is ‘Warbler Heaven’ at migration time, probably just over 100 miles from where you are. A day spent there in early May, you would clock up plenty of new species and no doubt it would offer some superb photo opportunities! I’m from the UK, so no experience of the spot but I know folk that have been. 👍
Hey Mark, thanks very much indeed for giving me that info, I've heard it's an amazing spot and one for a visit in Spring and Autumn, will have to check it out. Appreciate the watch from the UK, nice to see some people from home watching my adventures over here in Canada. All the best Rich 👍
Another superb video!!! Really enjoyed watching. Oh just wait till later in the summer when some of the birds up in the canopy now drop down to a more reasonable height.
Hi Richard wow that was an amazing video the wildlife in that park is fantastic, it must be difficult coming from a different country it’s took years to learn about different birds then coming to Canada it’s like starting all over again, your making these fantastic videos well done for sticking with it , that Baltimore oriole was one of my favourite the colours just amazing, the colours of these birds are so amazing hope you don’t mind me asking what do you think of the RF 100-500 on the r7, truly a amazing video Richard thank you for sharing it with us. Martyn
Thanks Martyn, There was so much to see and so many species it was hard to know where to look, lol.. You hit the nail on the head there, it really is like starting again and on RU-vid its a battle getting a new different audience! Still it's going really well to be honest, gain a few, loose a few! Yep, a special bird and such vibrant colours! Didn't get bored of seeing them for sure. Not at all, it's a great combo especially for on the go photography and it's a birders dream outfit! I'm never as keen on the smaller viewfinder on the R7 as the R3 but it works most of the time, quite narrow with the R7 and Rf 1-5. Cheers 👍
Great video, what an amazing array of birds! Have you noticed any difference in the image quality between the 200-400 vs the 100-500? Would you recommend the 200-400? Thanks.
Thanks Richard, such striking birds for sure! That's a really good question and I not actually noticed any difference but I will look in to it and see if there is much in it. Hard to totally compare but my money is on the 200-400 as its an incredible bit of glass and the AF is superb. I would certainly recommend it, the zoom flexibility is so handy, you can got out with it all day and never need to change lens which is a bonus. R👍
@@richardpill8322 Best of luck getting one Richard, the 1-5 is a great lens too and it’s pretty much my go to lens on a daily basis over the 2-4, but out all day and low light it’s hard to be to have that range 👍
