Mini Jam jar looks like the right size for a sample. Your Belter bottle is beautiful!! Enjoyed the metal detecting, laughing each time Jack "located" treasure. Thanks Willie, Sarah and Jack!
Thanks Debbie! A sample! You know, that's probably right! I didn't think of that - so well done you. Glad you're enjoying the boogies too. Jack is absolutely hilarious whilst detecting. If I don't give him a ball, he makes his 'own fun', so it's just easier to deal with his ball antics! A pleasure to share. Willie :)
Another fabulous day/s out, love Jack's ball deposits in the holes ... and now there's a Georgian bloke wandering about the paddocks with mis-matching shoe buckles, well-done, Sarah, great finds 😍😆
What a fun video. Thanks for the 'History Bit' about Lipton's. I always thought that was an American company, which it was sort of, but with a surprising history behind it. How enlightening. 😉 The Wilson bottle was of course the best find, but the tiny jam jar is so unbelievably cute I literally laughed out loud when I saw it. When you said you had to take your gloves off for it and then reached down with two fingers I thought it was trick photography and you were playing a joke on us. It's SUPER cute. I enjoyed your metal detecting part too. The mystery find looked like it might be the arrow on a sundial. That's a total guess, but I thought I'd throw it out there. Jack did not fail to entertain, as usual. Him tossing the ball into the hole each time was just hysterical. I'm sure it got tiresome, but it sure was funny on this side of the camera. 😂 Thanks so much for another great video. (I was away for 2 weeks so I'm just now catching up with yours and Sarah's videos. It was fun to have them to watch when I got home). 😉
Jack reminds me of a Border Collie that we fostered once named, Lola. We got a hyper pet ball launcher for her, because she loved to chase a ball and the ball launcher gave us a few more seconds before she was back for another throw. Lovely finds this time as well!
Yeah! He's obsessed with any kind of ball! When we take him on walks, he gets about an hour of walking first, then 20 mins of running after a ball that we throw with a ball launcher. He would happily run for ever though! Glad you enjoyed another adventure! Willie :)
I enjoyed this very much, wondering if that last metal bit might be the hour hand of a clock...seems like the fastening would be different on a clock, but that was my first thought.
Really enjoy seeing the bottles where they end up on your kitchen windowsill. Always the best finds on DSoS. Look forward to your videos each week. Thanks Suzy AZ USA
I miss these videos Willie. I used to dig vicariously through you from edinburgh. I wish I had more time to look for my own dumps and it wasn't such a secretive hobby!
Lovely bottle finds today. Also lovely is the sounds of the bird's songs. You are very fortunate to be able to spend time in such an enchanting part of nature. 🌻🐕🇺🇸
There didn't seem to be much quality control back in the day but the cream pot is still lovely, I would love to find one. The amber bottle is stunning, what an amazing find! I would have been dancing home if I had found all those stoneware ink bottles! The treasure hunting was fun, the shoe buckles are lovely and, as always, Jack made me smile 😁💗 x
Hi Amanda - and, I know right! Just throw anything on the prints and ship it out! The amber is an Uber-belter! Jack is the real talent in this outfit!! Willie :)
Yay, I was hoping you'd show us the kitchen window collection!---I wonder what the benefits are of glycerine & cucumber!---Is it time to urge taking the glasses along?!---Could that watzit be a writing nib?
Hi Alana - thought folks would appreciate seeing the window ombre´. I'm not sure if there would be any health benefits... they had a vivid imagination with what benefits certain ingredients had in their 'cures' back then! I've started taking a reading glass along with me now... my sight was absolutely fine only a few years ago... the joys of getting older! I'm now leaning towards the metal item being a book clasp now, from viewer suggestions. Willie :)
bbbbbbbelter hehehe what a great bottle. lovely colour!.... laughing myself off my seat at your second belter dance hahaha.... Jack has so much energy lol ....lol @ Sarahs dig and Jacks ball lol.. .mystery item? maybe a book clasp?
The wee jam jar is super cute, will be straight into Sarah's collection I imagine. Might have had just enough jam in it for one scone perhaps 😂 The amber mineral water bottle is just amazing, I wonder what other rarities you are going to uncover at the tip Jack was very cute by the way, playing his version of fetch golf 🟢 had quite a chuckle watching him repeatedly put it in the hole as Sarah was trying to locate her find
Thanks Laura - didn't know your real name until now! Thanks for adding it to your RU-vid title! Very happy you enjoyed another adventure and the music too! Willie :)
What great finds this week. Wonderful stoneware and bottles The shoe buckles that Sarah found looked so big. So interesting, thank you for another great video. I just love Jack too
that amber bottle with all of the text & pix is amazing! My fave: i found the wee trio truly enchanting & delightful. i also enjoyed the my-head-is-in-a-box dance 😏
Hello Willie. MR Lipton founded the America's cup and also the first world cup . the cup was stolen in the 1990's and is still missing. stay safe..V.R..
Salut! ....from the states.... I've learned more here in a single sitting than on the go the whole past week! That exceptional bottle, I had never seen anything like it until just now.... what a beauty! ....surely it has to be exceedingly rare, congratulations! And there, at the close, that little bit if metal seems to be hinged; perhaps too early for a zipper, but could it have folded over and sorta locked like a clasp? That could have been utilized on many different items from a hair beret to a jacket or even a shoe, it was pretty though, if not severely so with it's spike! Great show! Cheers and Blessings sent your way, shareable with all yours!
Thanks - really happy you're enjoying our videos! The amber bottle is for sure one of my best ever finds - and extremely rare, as you said! I'm leaning towards the wee metal spikes item being a book clasp now... could have some serious age to it! Willie :)
Get Jack an automatic ball tosser, so he can drop his ball in and it tosses the ball for him… but he’s got so much enthusiasm you might want to put it on a timer to keep him from running himself into total exhaustion! 🐕🦺❤️
Amazing dig mate, that tip just keeps on giving! I am pretty sure your mystery item detecting is part off a musket trigger guard that would have been inset into the wood 👍 7k subs is epic, well done, well deserved 😁👍
Thanks mate, just when I’m cursing because I can’t find any fresh ash, something like that amber bottle pops up and shuts me up! That’s a great suggestion about the mystery metal item! Could well be that! And thanks man - really excited to get to 7k. We appreciate your encouraging words. Watching your latest video tonight! 😃👍
And I have enjoyed Lipton Tea (loose or in bags) for over 60 years. It is my 'go to drink'. One lump, no milk. Willie, that wooden screw cap can be preserved. The pointed metal piece is maybe an escutcheon cover? The plate that swung over the hole to keep weather out of the lock. The aerial shots of the field shows a series of various patches that look like former detecting holes. Or possibly well fertilized grass??

Watching you from Seattle, Washington State USA !!! Love your channel its so interesting, I'm 74 years old now, and disabled1, but when I watch, I'm there with you, thank you for the escape !!! Told all my friends about your channel, answer a question for me why did they use so much poison ??? I know that they had to deal with rats and mice, but why so many large poison bottles ?? God Bless, love to all, Cathy from Seattle.............
Hi Cathy - I think I just replied to this question in another thread - sorry - I'm just catching up in the comments section - it's been a busy week! I'm very glad that our videos provide an escape for you - that was always a big part of this. I'll paste my answer from the previous comment below, just in case it doesn't reach you. In answer to your question - the poison bottles contained lots of household cleaning products etc too - not just poison for causing harm (to mice etc). Anything that could cause harm to human life was bottled in these. Willie :)
What a bunch of cool finds! I love all the minis! I really enjoyed the metal detecting! I’m pretty sure my buddy Jack was the big winner! He sure could make a hole in one! 🤣🤣
That was a brilliant dig Willie! My favourites were the tiny dolls house jam jar and the Wilson & Co rare bottle you found, well done for finding that belter! When you read the stopper, it got me curious why old 1p's were called '1d', so I googled it, google says 'pennies were confusingly abbreviated to 'd', this is because the Latin word for this coin was 'denarious' '. You probably knew that already though 😂 Thanks for another belter video 🤗 Forgot to say - I laughed at Jack when he kept putting his ball in the holes you and Sarah had dug 😂 I bet he thought you'd invented a new game!
Ho hum - another fabulous dig. ROFL I hope you aren't getting blase about all the great finds, Willie. Those miniature finds were the stars for me, although your amber Wilson's bottle IS a belter. :)
doorknob is more likely the knob off a kitchen dresser door or kitchen table drawer. interested in that flat bottomed hamilton tho... was there any print on the base? I have a couple with base markings only and crown tops and can find zero about them love that amber... goes without saying. proper treasure
Love the mini jam jar. Great amber bottle find and possibly rare. Jack certainly wanted to help with the holes. The last piece you found in metal detecting looks like it could be from a clock part. Like the hands to a clock? Great video.
Only recerntly discovered your channel, what fabulous finds at that dump, that bottle was stunning! Popped over to your etsy shop and treated myself to a birthday present, two gorgeous little perfume bottles, I just loved their shape and colour. Edit, I remember the Lipton's shops here in Wales there was one in Swansea and one in Merthur Tydfil that I remember going to up until the 80's.
Hi Catherine - welcome on board! A very happy birthday to you when it comes! Thanks so much for purchasing treasures from our Esty! It really does make a huge difference to small channels like us when our viewers buy items from our store. I love when items we find spark memories for our viewers. Thanks for sharing that with us. Willie :)
Just got back from your “shop” and am now looking forward to delivery! Congratulations on your rare bottle find. I’ll let you know if more contractors hear me shout, “Its my dirty secrets!” When they arrive as the city has begun rebuilding our stretch of street and there are workers on the property all day!
Thanks Karyn. That would be very amusing! Thanks for supporting our channel. Your purchase goes a long way to help finance making these videos! Willie :)
@31:14 Could it be a book clasp? Looks like one I've seen on other channels. Love it when you and Sarah and Willie go out together. Great finds though in the tip -- love that Amber bottle.
That's a top suggestion! I think you might be spot on! Sarah joined me at the tip in this Sunday's video... plus a VERY special guest!! Hope you can join us! Willie :)
What a great video! The amber bottle was an amazing find. Of course I am still partial to the wonderful stone ware you found. I still don’t know how you tell between an ink bottle and blacking bottle. Could you please explain it to me? Loved the shoe buckles Sarah found. I think Jack was her good luck charm. Have a great week. 🙂🇨🇦
Hi Diann. Good question. The inks tend to be simpler in design, with a standard bottle type lip - about 1.5" in diameter. Blacking pots tend to have a much broader, fluted lip. Aside from that, they are quite similar. Hope you have a great week too! Willie :)
Hey how, Willy and Sarah Not sure I'm anywhere right about the metal you detected, but to me it looked like a mediaeval pen min, it has that SHAPE! I'm probably very, very wrong, but... Oh well, love the detector work and bottle digging.
The amber bottle is beautiful and definitely deserved a belter boogie! Was that vogue-ing you were doing for the creampot find? What’s next…twerking? If you do, I’m outta here!😄😉
Haha! It was a bit of Vogue-ing I guess!! I just sort of did something silly really! Don't worry - you're definitely safe from twerking! Imagine..! Haha! Willie :)
