I miss these videos Willie. I used to dig vicariously through you from edinburgh. I wish I had more time to look for my own dumps and it wasn't such a secretive hobby!
Hey, Willie! I'm traveling back in time with you from the Skye Life and enjoying the bottle digging. I've never seen a digger fill in their hole when they were done, and I'm impressed. Is that because you're digging a permission?
The iridescence on that bottle could be an indication of lead in the glass. Lead was definitely used in both glass and glazes on ceramic pieces back then.
I knew a fella who was ultra serious about his ginger beers ❤their was one ☝️ he had never dug in 40 yrs digging but a single section of one with the name ,and no one else had one either 😂so he got one made and just put the name on it lol 😂 😂❤
I found an old bottle. It says McLean and Edinburgh in big letters down the sides. The makers mark is Riley Manufacturing co ltd. I cant find anything about McLean Edinburgh online. Wondered if you knew anything about it? looks a bit like the Kirkcaldy bottle you found.
