For reference, the Xmen stuntwoman who broke her leg was Holly Raczynski. She recovered a year later and actually helped film reshoots for the second half of Dark Phoenix, so that's really goddamned impressive.

@@dota2u that's a waste of your Jackie. I think the stuff he made in hong kong is way more impressive. A lot of the stunts in his hollywood movies are repeats of stuff he had already done earlier in his carrer too. I mean, you could get him to comment on a few stuiff he did in hollywood, but mostly that would be him being salty that the schedule is too tight (and the insurance being too worried about the risks "required") to make anything worthwhile.

David Belle is such a legend. It's crazy to think about the fact that parkour is technically such a new sport(? I guess) even though it has kind of been around for ages. It's just amazing how he and his friends found the beauty in it and really made it what it is today.
@SuddenReal
@SuddenReal 2 года назад
I think it's technically his dad who came up with it? If I recall correctly, his dad was a veteran stationed somewhere in east-Asia and he combined elements of martial arts to make his movements more efficient. He taught David these tricks and then David used them in his daily life, teaching his friends how to do it.

Listening to the stunt guy talk about his job makes me feel bad for stuntmen. Seems like they have to do a brutal, thankless job. Which sometimes you don't even end up seeing as it's covered by smoke and bad cgi. And that you're one bad day away from the end of your career with a broken bone sticking out of a limb the wrong way.

@AdamSmith-qu5bv 4 года назад
My guess would be that the underside of the cloth used is waterproof, letting water run off the sides of the actor's head.
@dax421
@dax421 4 года назад
There’s 2 methods. The 1st is Only showing certain things in a shot and picking cuts deliberately. Like never showing both characters in one shot. Instead u have a POV shot of the water being poured and a shot of the hostage reacting to the water being poured. The audience has already seen the water so the water doesn’t have to be poured on the actor. The 2nd way they do it is by using perspective, like that old clip of Batman and robin walking up the side of a building, which was actually them walking on the floor. The camera being placed horizontally was the reason it looked like they were climbing vertically. With waterboarding u do the same thing. Since The actor is standing water isn’t poured it’s thrown which removes the effect that makes waterboarding torture. I prefer this way as im not restricted to one type of shoot.
@tyrantbossmedia2230
@tyrantbossmedia2230 4 года назад
Waterboarding only simulates the sensation of drowning so actually getting waterboarded would not be a big thing especially since you know in that film environment that you don't have enemies pouring water on your face, and when you can cut the camera you can make several very brief clips of waterboarding shot from different angles look like one very long session.

Jake: "L'enchantée" Video editor: Le chante??
@LotFrat
@LotFrat 4 года назад
"L'enchantée" is a french title ;-; And "le chante" is just because it's youtube. "Le chante" is something that really exist in french! But it's different. "Chanter" is "To sing" in french. In english, you say: I sing You sing He sings We sing You sing they sing But in french, "chanter" is: Je chante (Je -> I) Tu chantes (Tu -> You) Il chante (Il -> he, elle -> she) Nous chantons (Nous -> we) Vous chantez (Vous -> you) Ils chantent (Ils/Elles -> they) As you can see "Le chante" haven't: -S -ons -ez -ent at the end of "Chante", but what would means "Le" ? Well, it's complicated, "le" means "The" ("the" means: Le, la, les. At the same time) but also... Ahhh I'll try to explain it, if we add "Je" in "Le chante" we will have "Je le chante" that's means "I sing it". But if you replace "le" by "les" ("Les", itself, means (Example): *Les* filles sont intelligentes! / *The* girls are smart! ), we will have : "Je les chante", that means "I sing them". I just tried to make you understand what means "Chante" and why "Le chante" was there (First, he probably tried to translate that on Google translate , and it's french, but say "Le chante" like that, means nothing but the words ARE french). If you want to know more things about my language or if you didn't understand something, tell me! (France isn't my country, i'm Belgian, so... Don't ask question about France x) )
