STUPID NÜRBURGRING CRASH!🤦🏻 & 690HP BMW M2 Competition 

I've had the other way round: a GT3 going around the carrousell, trying to overtake me immediatly on exit. I was obviously focussed on the fun and photographer and NOT expecting an overtake on the right on tourist drives

@@Gochsener You can NEVER overtake on the right in TF. You are absolutely right to not expect it! The other driver was completely in the wrong

He's essentially hitting a very high curb at 50 - 60 miles an hour, if it was me i'd be very glad if it's just a tire and wheel damage. Wouldn't be surprised if there's suspension damage across the board.

For sure he ruined the tyre, the weel and some suspension components, the curb there is huge.

But that's only half of the story! Misha always waits till the car in front of him has noticed him. Always! The reason is simple: people simply are busy to watch ahead on the road! *And it sounds that people forget that, too! Drivers should always watch the road ahead first and mirrors only second or third!* You can simply suspect that when an unexperienced driver enters something like the Karussell, he has all hands full with concentrating ahead and looking where to drive instead of inspecting mirrors all the time! The E46 simply was impatient. And the damage with that curb may have been much more severe to suspension and tire than a gentle "bump" into the Merc. It should be less expensive to fix a bumper than the suspension and tire.

The problem is: they rely on those factors way too much so they “lay back” and just do whatever

@@stfu6397 this is exactly what is happening. everyone should learn to drive in a bare bones basic car with no safety stuff at all. nothing. no abs, no traction, bad brakes, heavy steering, manual gearbox, all that stuff. make them learn how the car works. then getting into a modern car with all the bells and whistles, they're probably going to be much safer drivers.

All this technology ain't shit when cars get heavier and heavier

I’d say tire tech is getting better but the arrival of cheap Chinese tires has wrecked the market for people who don’t know how important tires are. So many people will show up to our local roads on fucking linglongs and lionharts and wonder why they are sliding at 80MPH and others are gripping at 120MPH in the same car with the same suspension setup.

That’s a really valid point. Out of sight, out of mind. So yeah, not seeing how it could go wrong, might feed some dangerous egos that need a reality check.

Agreed! While it can be bad press for the track, the fact is its the freaking green hell. Its no joke and its complicated even if someone's doing their 10000th lap... Hell I'm even cautious in Assetto Corsa on my first lap. The fact that people go out there and just push without any thought is crazy. That track has taken lives but is the price of having a road like course!

@@d1sturb3d119 I think you nailed it right there though. Would be bad optics for the track, which at the end of the day, is a business. I don’t doubt that’s the chief and only reason for having such a restriction.

@@AP-op4rc I can see that being bad for business but isn't a death also bad for business? With less exposure of the risks you get ass clowns who think their skill is top notch. I see that problem with motorcycles. Some people are hyper aware and stay away, some take proper precautions and then some think they are bullet proof and just do dumb shit. I guess in the long run you're right. The chances of a death are slim but present but showing off crashes would be bad press. Wish there was a better way to educate people without covering up the reality of a track. It is safer to crash on track than a public road, but this is a mix so its got a mix of danger.

I imagine it’s some kind of attempt to keep the general image as clean as possible, especially in the internet age. Probably don’t want the top like 10 video search results for the ring to just be cars turning into tissue paper.

But Misha didn't make the same mistake as the BMW driver: he waited till the Merc driver had noticed him and put on the right turning signal! Only then it was safe to overtook (like it should be done).

well you just don't enter carrousell so late. it's the SLKs fault for me.

@@Gochsener it's TF, you have to expect that 50% of the drivers don't know the track or most of the rules. So better stay behind someone until after the corner/carrousel. I'll never drive on a Saturday/Sunday morning again, probably will stay away from TF alltogether. Closed events with ~100 cars are so much better.

To be fair, the guy dropped into the carrousel super late. It’s not normal to transition over that sharp hump Al low loads and scrape the crap out of your underside…

@@Gochsener it's a tourist session. You can't trust people to always enter the carousel the same way. Yes it's SLK's fault but with just a little more patience that E46 would be fine

right? On the Autobahn I'm usually (one of) the fastest with my merely 230hp TDI because that thing just eats up kilometers in bulk without spending too much fuel. On the Nordschleife, I was actually one of the slowest but not because I wasn't using my horses. ^^

@@wullxz 230 from a little 4 cylinder, turbo diesel is nothing to spit at. Must be over 300 lb ft of torque at that hp too. Pretty sweet. I just realized it’s probably a V6 TDI lol.

I’m glad you pointed it out. Used up a quarter tank of gas, and it wasn’t even a full lap at speed. 😮

@@AP-op4rc it is a V6 TDI ;) It's a 2007 A6 3.0TDI quattro avant. I love that thing but on the Nordschleife I felt really slow :D I have my 3 laps uploaded on my channel btw.

Their ZTR tyre is quite well known in the UK trackday scene for being a particularly good track tyre. Don’t be too surprised, it’s similar to when people started running Nankangs and everyone thought they weren’t going to be good - now most people think they’re great.

Merc driver was a total knob. You should have to take a class before you enter the race track.. it's dumb they just let anyone on here
