Been driving commercial for 40 years. If you were working for me I'd fire you.Don't pinch people off because they misjudge an interchange. You could have slowed a bit and let that guy merge.Hey may be an idiot but what you did was intentional. When you see turn indicaters on slow and give a bit, you'll get it back when its your turn to screw up.
I've been a driver for many years, and I can remember when we showed each other common courtesy, and had a sense of brotherhood. The covenant driver clearly didn't know what lane to be in, but rather than back off and let him in, he felt he should cut him off. Everybody feels they're the most important person on the road, the basis of road rage.
sorry steve n. i've been driving many years also(26 to be precise) but call a spade a spade covenant was CLEARLY wrong. yes the driver videoing this could have moved over IF the left lane was clear. sorry i'll side with the driver videoing did all he could.
Yes, and I would not assume that Rusty wasn't looking around. When I see one of these videos, I am already informed that a problem will present itself. So, if Rusty is looking left for an accommodation, he hasn't had the time to decide whether to brake or simply speed up.
Steve n - Sorry, but I don’t agree with you for the most part. The blue/black truck seemed to do exactly what he was supposed to be doing. Why the Covenant driver decided at the last second to conclude he was in the wrong lane is anybody’s guess, but he should’ve slowed a little bit down and merged behind the cammer’s truck, or should have gone ahead and kept to the right and made corrections later, like taking a detour so to speak. I have seen so, so many cars do exactly the same thing with some even backing up on the highway in order to rectify the missed exit, ramp, and the like. From my observations of big rigs, I don’t think they can switch lanes as easily as a car can.
You can see Covenant flying up on his right with the turn signal on. The was long before they got to the split. Why didnt Covenant slow up and get in behind? Instead of doing extreme maneuvers?
Ok..... Im still trying to figure out which of these 3 steering wheel holders was the stupid one. The werner with the left lane violation, the one not paying attention to what lane he needs, or the cammer being an jerk sitting in the middle lane like he owns it. I've been driving truck for over 23 years and I don't want to share the road with any one of these idiots.
The Werner was passing. Believe it or not... a big truck can pass in the left lane in most states. 🤔 We do not know if there was traffic in the left lane to know if this driver could have moved over. None of this gives the driver any right of way to do what he wants if he misses his exit mark. That driver was most likely an inexperienced driver who hasn't been driving very long, or the driver was an extremely stressed out driver, and that should not be in a truck on the highway.
As a 2 million mile driver, 29 years, the camera truck should have just lifted letting the other driver over, I would have, it's about courtesy, and not wrecking cause you didn't like what you saw. Be safe regardless of what others do! Kevin
The way i see it and the driver in the wrong lane shoulda just backed off or just took the exit abd look for a safe place to turn around and get going in the right direction again instead of trying to force his way into the correct lane. However, the driver in the correct lane should have recognized the driver in duress and atleast tried to assist the other driver and attempted to give him room, even if it meant he had to brake/slow down and get behind him and let the guy merge safely. Yea, you can get pissed and radio rambo the other driver to your hearts content. Atleast you helped avoid an accident and you're still moving to your destinations. Having CDL is also protecting the motoring public, even if it means protecting another CDL driver from himself. That's a professional driver, anything else just makes you a steering wheel holder.
I dont know if BRC had traffic next to him, keeping him from moving over and letting the Covenant in after his foolish aggressive move. If I see someone foolishly dive into shallow water and injure themselves, Im not going to let them drown because of foolish or even wreckless behavior. If I had room to move over and let him in, I would move over rather than risk that driver making another bad move and hitting me. As I was moving over, I would be on the horn letting him know he is a selfish idiot for driving that way. BRC planned well ahead and was in the correct lane to continue on his best route. Saying that he shouldnt have been using the center lane so far in advance of the split is what got Covenant in trouble. We got a lot of hard nosed unforgiving truckers out there. None of us is perfect. How about we all get along and try being a little less judgmental and let the newbies and dimwits in whenever possible.
Well said sir! B.t.w, i could not move to my left in order to let him in. And though the video is long and one may analyse and critique my actions, it all happened very fast. Either way, his trainer should've told him to keep on 820 and take the 1st exit to come back to 20. This is the trainer's incompetence in my opinion. Thank you for your comment!
After watching the vid again, I see that Covenant had a chance to back off and fall in behind BRC. Covenent clearly realized he was taking the wrong route way too late to make a safe adjustment. When Covenant initiated his aggressive selfish foolish merge across a solid white line, there was a maroon vehicle coming up on BRC's left. At that moment BRC had no safe way to merge into the far left lane. Covenant screwed the navigation pooch and should have excepted his mistake. That said, once the maroon vehicle passed on the left, I would have moved over letting Covenant off the shoulder if he hadnt already done so. Always be polite and forgiving first. No need to be a jerk and unforgiving because "you are in the right".
It's obvious what happened, the guy wasn't paying attention and wound up on an exit ramp. If there was room (and only if there was room) you could have changed lanes and let him in.
When Covenant first appears onscreen, his blinker isn't even on, so he evidently doesn't know he needs to change lanes till the 2:00 mark on the video when the blinker DOES go on. At that point he should have dropped back and gotten behind the camera truck, if traffic permitted, but he apparently feels the world revolves around him and continues to try to pass. Bad choice. As the road split, it was pretty much too late for Covenant to slow down and get behind him without driving on the what had now become the shoulder. . It was a REALLY poor (and dangerous) choice to use the shoulder as a traffic lane. It is unknown what traffic was behind the camera truck but there was apparently nowhere to go. Apparently, the choice to eat crow (so to speak) take a wrong turn and find your way back on course, was not even on the radar but at that late stage, it was the best thing to do. It is unknown if the camera truck had traffic on his left but he was under no obligation to accommodate Covenant's self imposed crisis. It's not a dance out there. No doubt there were signs well before the split that he didn't pay attention to. Covenant was WAY wrong and his poor choices in his self imposed dilemma. could have spelled disaster. GREEN, stupid and selfish.
It's the other truck drivers fault not the driver that uploaded the video. This has nothing to do with being courteous. The other driver should have slowed down or planned ahead instead of crossing a solid line and putting this truck driver in danger. If you miss your exit you keep driving and turn around not cut people off.
The reply I got for a long time was "YOU DRIVER YOUR JUNK YOUR WAY, i WILL DRIVE MY TRUCK MY WAY". Ay, STUPID. PISS POOR PLANNING PROVIDES PISS POOR PERFORMANCE.
it has everything to do with safety though. You miss the point. Nice feeling good getting there on time and killing somebody doing it. The other drivers poor decision has absolutely nothing to do with how he should be treated on the road as a matter of safety. In this case, the truck speeding up and leaving him stranded on shoulder is nothing short of an absolute cunt act
@Mary Wagner I have seen some middle lane drivers refusing to change lanes out of courtesy, and if he had a chance to do so, damn him, I don't care who's job it is... it is etiquette for the middle lane to look to merge and make way for the right lane... HOWEVER, Right lane should absolutley recognize that middle lane just ain't gettin over, wether middle lane simply can't move because of a car in the left lane, or is just being an Ass, right lane guy needs to slow down and look for a place to merge behind him. this move should have been made the very minute he realized he was about the get forked out... ALSO, at the point where he crossed two lanes to get into the shoulder was an ABSOLUTE NO NO, at that point he needed to just take the loss of time and live to fight another day. He could have taken out both trucks w that move. So yes, right lane passer is the sinner here. But anybody watching, just know if you are in the middle lane and don't get over for me and I can't find a car for miles, I'm writing down your license plate and truck number.
I was trained by the Smith System. It's not wrong for the cammer to be in the 2nd lane over if there is a lot of merging on and off in the far right lane, or if you know you need to keep left at the fork ahead. Being a trucker requires us to be responsible, but we don't have to babysit stupid drivers who don't plan far enough ahead resulting in them being in the wrong lane. Covenant was probably speeding cuz he knew he was in the wrong lane. Trying to force the cammer over is absolutely dead wrong. Just cuz you're in a big rig, you don't have the right to bully other drivers who are paying attention to where they need to be. If you disagree, you need to find another line of work.
As far as I am concerned, the Cammer was in the lane he needed to be in. Which incidently became the rightlane after the split. Werner guy was impatient and most likely speeding, couldn't tell if he had signaled. The Convanent truck os most definetly in the wrong, once he noticed he was in wrong lane he should've slowed.
I've learned that if you're not hammering down stay out the way aka stay in the right lane. If you have a left turn or merge to take, get in the middle lane or left lane 1 to 2 miles ahead of time. Then that keeps you from being a center lane Larry and the green horns from killing everybody. Road edicate... it's gone.
Reading the comments here i understand my the ones in Washington push the regs right or wrong back off let the guy in everybody makea a mistake but what i have noticed you people with cams sure think they make you right
@Bugz Murphy Totally agreed. I see TWO shitty truck drivers. Big fucking deal if you are 'in the right' if you fucking wreck and dump your load all over the goddamn highway. Your goddamn job is to get from Point A to Point B without wrecking your rig or injuring or even killing someone, numbnuts. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
How is safe driving an accommodation if someone is putting your life or vehicle at risk then you should make the proper adjustments to protect yourself the recorder clearly had an opportunity to get into his left lane to protect himself but instead he thought being right was more important
Cammer had correct lane choice for what was going on . Didn't have to change lane at the divergence and wasn't getting tangled up in On-Ramp merges . Werner truck Overtook perfectly well and safely . Final Truck , however , once he realised there was a divergence he needed to take , should have lifted off and tucked in behind . Just a DUMB choice trying to barge in like that . Put EVERYONE in danger . I drove for 30 years and that guy/girl was a COWBOY .
Wow some of the comments here are ridiculous. It’s clearly obvious why the dude was in that lane. That lane became the right lane once the road split. the Covenant driver should have followed Werner. It’s not about courtesy, it’s about knowing where the heck your going and which lanes end. Pay attention. Damn.
Not only that but if you was really paying attention at the start you will see a No trucks in left lane and it wasn't till about a Minute or so after the Covenant driver got ran on to the shoulder did it become End Of No trucks in left lane. This is down around the Ft Worth area. If you are driving trucks You better do what that signs says its not a suggestion.
I just wondered why you drove so long in the center lane, at the start you were pacing the car in the nearside lane and that's when I started to wonder why not pull over Werner overtook you in lane three. So you hogging center lane in a way forced that move. I was waiting for a split in the highway that would condone the lane placing, but it didn't come for miles and miles. Yes the attempt to undertake you was wrong but you brought it on yourself. Common courtesy, defensive driving and you guys will live to see another day. Remember yes you may be in the right, but don't be dead right.
Camera truck was positioned correctly since that center lane soon became the right lane after the split. Poor planners or those not paying attention change at the last minute. Say, that wasn't you in that Covenant truck was it?
GREAT JOB DRIVER SCREW THAT COVENANT TRUCK HE JUST ASSUMED YOU WOULD SLOW DOWN AND LET HIM IN . HE WAS THE ONE IN THE WRONG LANE HE EXPECTED YOU TO SLOW DOWN AND SLOW THE TRAFFIC BEHIND YOU. YOU DID THE RIGHT THING I WOULD'VE TOO JUST LIKE TGE IDIOTS THAT CAN'T MERGE ON AN ON RAMP THEY BELIEVE THEY HAVE THE RIGHT OF WAY . WRONG YOU MERGE IN SAFELY WHEN POSSIBLE ESPECIALLY WHEN YOUR SPEED ISN'T UP YET.GGOD JOB AGAIN!!!
@@marywagner3644 can tell you wasn't reading signs or driven trucks in Texas. There was a sign that said NO TRUCKS LEFT LANE. wasn't till about a minute after The Covenant Truck stopped that it became Legal for Trucks to go in to the LEFT lane again. SO please tell me how the driver filming is looking bad or at fault for a dumb ass that should of slowed down and pulled behind him. That must of been filmed on a Sunday there was like no traffic around there. I've been through there and you don't have room enough to change your mind at the last second.
@@bloodmoongrizzlythefirst6492 drove trucks in Texas quite a few times North to South , East to West. . Maybe things are done differently now adays but if you got a semi next to you on the shoulder , then regardless whose fault it is maybe some type of maneuver on your part might help . Hey I'm retired , you folks enjoy . Hehe , keep the shiny side up!
The driver in this video certainly lacks the courtesy of old school truck drivers. Driving in the middle lane, forcing multiple vehicles to pass on the right and one truck to pass on the left, is evidence enough that this driver is totally self absorbed and has no intentions of contributing to the free flow of traffic. Then to title the video Stupid Truck Driver is to emphasize that driver's oblivion to his own social deficiencies.
Guess you lack the ability to read signs just like the driver in the white truck did too. Amazes my you dumb asses that have no clue about trucking trying to say whats what and guess what the White trucks driver was 100% at fault and he should of been pulling behind that driver way back there since the driver filming could not get into that left lane Huge ass ticket down there if they get caught. So STFU.
If you really wanna see what i eat for breakfast, I'll be glad to film it next video. 😂😂😂... Sorry i bored ya brother. Don't know how to edit. But ima learnin'!! 👍
The driver that didn't move over was n the right lane for his exit. He also had traffic n the left lane for his exit. Covenants fault for not paying attention
So cars passing you on the left lane and a cars passing you on the right lane and you are Filming and waiting for something to happen like … I don’t know I go straight
Hi, how's it going? May I feature this clip on my channel? If so, could you tell me where this happened? Also, do you have any additional comments on the incident? Thanks for your consideration
Always know what lane your supposed to be in and be there before it changes I can see if it wasn’t marked and you only found out when you got there than you have no choice but to scramble to your exit but when it’s marked or has signs way before the exit there’s no excuse Just like when there’s road construction and it goes to 1 lane but people take advantage and keep cutting in front
"Do unto others as you would have others do unto you." Be courteous and helpful to other drivers. Obviously the other guy needed a little kindly help to keep from taking a wrong direction turn. You might need a little help from that guy yourself someday.
Got to agree with you there Bro. All the guy shooting the video had to do was just let him over. Just a little bit of grace goes a long way. It's something that every single one of us needs at one time or another. Not a sermon, just a thought. No ones blaming anyone, but just don't be so hardcore ALL the time. Wow!
Well, I wouldn't want others to aid me in breaking the law by crossing over a solid white line, so I'd do exactly what the trucker with the camera did.
Some times its better to back off u know the covenant driver was stupid but would y'all fell the same if the caption on this video said taken from a dead truckers dash cam our job as professional drivers is to deliver our freight safely and prevent accidents I want to make it home not win a pride race
Good job driver. I almost slammed you early in the video until I realized that you in the proper lane for the split. You knew your road. The steering wheel holder on the right was, well, a steering wheel holder.
Yes the covenant driver made a mistake and should have been more aware but you could at least got over in left lane let him back on 20. Every driver I don't care who you are made a mistake once in your life. You could have been professional enough to get over to allow covenant get back on.
Ridiculous, why you didn’t brake a little bit … take the other driver place.. everyday is different .sometimes truck driver do mistakes driving and you guys as a partners need to help each other
Why are so many idiots saying he should of moved over. The other trucker was 100% at fault. Bad planning & then tried to force his way over. Should lose his licence!!!!
This was a student driving. His trainer should've told him to stay on 820, take the next exit and come back. Instead he risked both their lives and taught this young driver the wrong way to do things. You are correct and thanks!
David Tyler, thank you for defending my action. You're correct but arguing with these people who think that their way is the only way to drive is futile! I suggest you ignore them! Keep on trucking safely my friend!
@@marywagner3644 its called foward planning. Driver obviously knows the area & got in the correct lane well in advance. Traffic was passing both sides so how is he impeding traffic.
Get the same thing here in the uk,for some strange reason they think its your place to get out of their way,my view is,the covenant truck is trying to join the others road, and tried to do it by out dragging him,and failed, should havejust joined the road by pulling on behind him, instead of trying to be a dickhead
Had a bobtail try that with me next to my trailer. There was no one behind me for a quarter mile. Actually drove beside me for a few hundred feet before he gave up and got behind me. It was a simple freeway merge. For all you wheelholders that don't know any better the one coming up the ramp has to yield.
