Nashville can be a difficult place for new styles and talents, there is a long list of great country artist that were never accepted by the Nashville machine but great talent almost always shines through in the end.

Jamie Laszlo Most are following the money and the current trends - and these practices become traditions - and that results in 'artists' not straying very far from what's already been recently successful. The difference between good leaders like Sturgill and followers is that leaders learn a thing or two from history, while followers tend to repeat. That's my pet theory, anyhow. Great insightful post. btw!
