Thunder press magazine had a eagle story, so I sent them my eagle story. Thunder press published my story in 2 issues, Sept an Oct 2009. My eagle encounter was July 28th, 2009. Since, July 28th is my eagle Day, doing something special for them. I told Harley group about this pair when I saw the trip we were taking is right where event happened. I told them story an watch out for eagle pair. Eagle pair flew with our group for miles, but half way up tree height, instead of handlebar. Now I'm going to rock you! This pair lead me for ride landing in a school front yard. Because of eagle encounter La Conner Indian council invited me to beautiful Lodge. I told them about working around pair of eagles I named Fred and Wilma. Fred always ate next to my left side. Wilma would hop on my lap bend down rub her beck and face against my face giving me affection. I actually have a pair of eagles that love me! So LaConner Indians at this lodge named me: eagle friend! At same gathering another elder asked me about whales? (I have no idea how he found out about my whale encounters?) I was in Hiro straight next to San Juan Island Washington State in 16ft rubber zodiac raft, when orca swam right at me. Closer an closer until I could scratch his back, inches from me. He liked that, he stopped, turned, looked right at me, nods his head in short movements. I find myself in middle of 5 orcas fin to fin around me. Waiting they're turn for affection. So this elderly Indian is asking me about whales? I tell them about these 5 an other encounters! At same gathering now Indian elder names my swims with Orcas! Knowing my history here about orcas an eagles, I graduated from #1 teacher college in nation, teaching math, science, then moving to islands doing research with island Labs. Back to eagles guiding me, landing on school front yard. I look at school they just took me too an wonder how weird? Now it gets weirder! This pair of eagles guide me to school another time. Instead of landing in yard they land on barge rafter of school roof. One eage sitting on one side of "Orca" school mascot, an other eagle on other side of Orca school mascot! I went to talk to school principal, actually told him about eagles landing on his building! He wasn't impressed, all principal want are substitute teachers. Always on call. Swims with Orcas over time just got shorten to: "Orca". Interesting elders called me "friend of eagles ", younger group called me eagle friend! Personal I like all three names!
