@@ggali09 how does that equate to me not liking to have fun??? I dont find listening to something over and over and over and over and over and over, (see how un-fun that is) again any fun. When you get older you'll understand. Cheers👍
I was at XI and also Fan Fest the day before. I met Chris Candido and Tammy walking around Fan Fest, and Chris told me he was about to debut on TV. They had a booth set up for commentary, so a friend and I did it. We got to commentate a 5 minute clip of the ladder match from WM10 with none other than "Gigolo" Jimmy Del Ray of the Heavenly Bodies, and we got a copy on VHS. Wrestlemania itself was a blast. Beforehand, when we got the tickets, they told us we would get to keep the commemorative chair. What they didn't tell us was that we wouldn't be able to take the actual chairs we were sitting in. At the end of the show we all realized the chairs were zip tied together, and it was pure chaos as everyone attempted to pull the chairs apart. The chairs were actually sent to us and I got mine like a month later. Good times.
I am ashamed of this WM.. because it was absolutely SHIT LOL. The Hartford Civic Center is aproxminley 5 mins away from me. I'm happy I didn't go lol😂 Episode starts at 4:00 BTW Oh and here are some Facts on Wrestling in Hartford, CT👇🏿👇🏿👇🏿👇🏿 1. The Ultimate Warrior Made his WCW Debut at The Hartford Civic Center August 17th, 1998 2. No Way Out 2000 At The XL Center AKA The Hartford Civic Center February 27, 2000 3. The First WWE Raw "Get The F" out was at The Hartford Civic Center May 6th, 2002 4.WWE Vengeance July 11th, 2004 5. MITB at The XL Center May 19, 2019
I became a fan in 1991, so I wasn't around during the WWF's first hot period where they were a media darling. I remember my Math teacher turning on ESPN and seeing footage of the Wrestlemania workout. Seeing all these WWF wrestlers on ESPN in their goofy ring outfits was very surreal to me at the time.
ummm Conrad.....how much research did you do? lol. You said Wrestlemania has never had a Tag match as the main event? WM 1 says hello. Hulk Hogan and Mr. T. vs Rowdy Roddy Piper and Mr. Wonderful Paul Orndorff
@@jessecola1079 yeah, me too. Though maybe we could give him a pass, cause it was Wrestlemania 1, and they haven't done it since. And at the time if Wrestlemania 1, Conrad was still shitting his diappers. Lol
I remember watching Wrestlemania 11 as a kid and thinking this is a shitty Wrestlemania. I remember i was pissed that Lawrence Taylor beat Bam Bam Bigelow
I recall thinking 'So who the hell is Lawrence Taylor?'. WWE have long suffered from catering to their local American market only. And Jim Ross' attention to details and expansion of the characters is part of what makes Jim Ross the greatest wrestling commentator ever. It's fascinating how disrespectful Bruce has become towards Jim Ross since he signed with AEW. I will agree that Diesel singing christmas carols was horrible.
Agreed. It wasn't Jim Ross' idea to turn cool heel Diesel into a white meat babyface, he just tried to give the character some credibility by talking up his athletic background. Massively hypocritical of Prichard to say he didn't care about what anyone did or achieved outside of WWE considering the PPV was based on outside celebrities rather than their own stars.
Razor should have faced The Undertaker. It would have made a lot more sense for Razor to steal the Urn ⚱️ and melt it down into another gold chain he could wear. Imagine the match they could have had. Would have salvaged the ppv.
In no way does a babyface v babyface match between those two make any sense at this point and neither was turning as they were shifting loads of merch.
For the 27 years of my life..I've ALWAYS hated JR's commentary about a Wrestler's collegiate background and other extra curricular activities, 100% agree with Pritchard.
Doesn’t care about Nash’s college basketball, yet fawns over Angle being an Olympian. Both are athletic endeavours, both make you think “wow, this guy is actually good at something I’m not”, but god forbid Bruce let Nash seem human during the cartoon dark ages of WWF, when WCW went the opposite and got him over more by having him be him. Good thing Kurt didn’t join around this time as he would’ve been given a gimmick and “don’t bring up his background pal, he isn’t that anymore”.
I still remember Razor and HHH had the exact same gimmick in WCW and just changed their names ( The Diamond Stuff & Jean-Paul Leveque )and pitched it to Vince.. Those 2 WCW guys seemed to work in WWF without being called " WCW guys " and bring held back since Vince didn't " create " them.
Exactly, I was actually coming to the comment section for this video to say the exact same thing myself, but you beat me to it!!! When I heard Bruce say that fans were cheering Diesel, I was just waiting for him to say "people were cheering Diesel........and then I woke up!!!"
I think most neutral sports fans loved LT at that time. Of course maybe Eagles, Cowboys, or Redskins fans didn't but everyone else I think thought he was a beast and liked him. So yeah i do agree with Bruce LT was a bigger deal than Rousey. Maybe it Rousey were still undefeated and came to WWE it would have been different. But come on it's LT probably the greatest player in NFL history other than Jerry Rice or Tom Brady
@Hybrid Eye78 Undertaker vs. Psycho Sid was a better main event than Bam Bam Bigelo vs. Lawrance Taylor you idiot. And Bret Hart vs. Steve Austin was better than every WM11 match combined.
I agree with Bruce on Diesel. Imagine if they had talked about Undertaker's history prior to becoming the Undertaker. "Good old Mark was a college basketball player and football player before he became the grim reaper that we know as the Undertaker"...... pffffffft! That destroys kayfabe completely. Jim Ross could be such a tool sometimes. Fans are interested in the DIESEL character, not Kevin Nash. If he was going to have a history, it should have been a KAYFABE history like being a bouncer, or being a personal bodyguard. Make something up that sounds good and stick with it. In WCW they actually did break kayfabe and started referring to Hulk Hogan as Terry. WCW was dead shortly thereafter.
People hated Shawn but liked his work? Uh...no. I've been rewatching WWF. They were literally shouting Shawn is SHIT on Raw. His matches, nobody cared up to this point. Yet WWF is still on Shawn's dick.
My favorite wrestlemania is wrestlemania 14 is awesome Shawn Michael vs stone cold 1998 mike tyson punch out Shawn Michael at wrestlemania 14 is awesome my favorite wrestlemania all time undertaker vs Kane was good wrestling match at wrestlemania 14
The difference between a wrestlemania fan experience and an NBA fan experience is you have a chance of going home alive at a wrestlemania fan experience and a lot of the kids there actually have both parents with them unlike the NBA fans
Fishbone did not stand up this Wrestlemania. Vince heard their unique rendition of "America the Beautiful" and hated it, so he canceled their performance even though he still paid them. McMahon should've known better. Weird that they were even booked in the first place.
The quality of this show has gone down tremendously......... Bruce is in excuse mode.....I can't say I blame him because he works for WWE.... Just cancel the show and let Conrad build up his other shows more..... My amateur opinion.....
@@nosyargerdna where else can we find a carny that will tell us the most whitewashed, Pro-WWE version of any given story? WWE Network, for starters. Good for Bruce though. He obviously knew that he still had a shot at getting rehired and kept his nose clean.
I gotta say thank you to Bruce for still putting this out there when he's probably under more stress than Nell Carter's knees. He's sometimes a twatwaffle.......okay, usually he's a twatwaffle. But he's our twatwaffle. Thanks, Bruce.
JTT was huge. Obviously, Home Improvement.. But he had also just done Lion King which was a roaring success and a huge market to similar age fans of the WWF.
I doubt STW will actually see this but could we please get a Wrestlemania 14 episode. You guys mentioned doing it in either episode 39 or 86 when covering The Undertaker but we didn’t get it. I searched through the archives many times in case I missed it but I’ve yet to find it. If they didn’t do an episode on it and if there’s fans that wanna get this episode as bad as me let’s get the word out to them. Now is the time with WM season.
frank aresco True. I actually forgot it was on there but even so the network episodes didn’t have the same feeling as the podcasts. Good to know it’s there though.
Listening in 2023 and a tag match now has officially main evented wrestlemania while being the night one final match it still is technically the first tag match to main event a mania since the original mania .
I find it hilarious that " Papa Shango " dropped the ball at WM 8 , so the bring him back a WM 11 as a new character to fued with taker and he still sucks
It was Kevin Nash as diesel that got the reaction, not the actual diesel character, because when they did the fake diesel character played by someone else it was crapped on straight away and rightly so.
Absolutely hated this WM. Have always thought it was/is the worst. Probably since i started watching(late 84-early 85) the worst year in wrestling for me.
@Chris Terry hey as a little hulkamaniac i actually was happy hulk won the title. Just wished 9* wouldve had savage v hbk like randy wanted. Lex v backlund, razir vs perfect and the event wouldve been great lol
@Chris Terry that would've been awesome. Also i wish adam bomb had a better gimmick i thought inring he was really good. Nothing like waking up to watch todd pettengil on the weekends 😂
He makes a good point though. Most of my friends who are solely Wrestling fans could care less about someone's collegiate or professional sport background (excluding Greco Roman Wrestling.) They just wanna have someone with a good workrate plus entertaining aspects in their pro wrestling.
Personally I feel Bret Hart had better matches with diesel than Shawn did. Though overall in his later career Shawn def had the best matches in general.
LT was more famous in the 90s than Ronda is in the modern day and that was without social media. No disrespect to Ronda but she had to do UFC, Movies, and WWE to reach her popularly. All LT did was kill quarterbacks and win a super bowl. God forbid he had a Instagram back then.
All those guys LT came out with were STUDD’s on the defensive side of the ball. McMichael & Spielman were all-pro’s on multiple occasions, and Rickey Jackson is in Canton.
Here's my re-booking for what WrestleMania 11 should've been, based around the feuds and the storylines that were going on at the time, with the roster we've got: 1.The New Headshrinkers (with Capt. Lou Albano & Afa) vs. The Blu Brothers (with Uncle Zebekiah) [These two teams had a brief feud on a couple episodes of Wrestling Challenge in February and March, so it makes sense for them to get on this card for a quick PPV payday, with the Blu Twins getting the win.] 2.Jeff Jarrett (with The Roadie) vs. Razor Ramon (with The 1-2-3 Kid) for the WWF Intercontinental Championship [We're keeping this match in, and you can still have Razor win by DQ.] 3.Davey Boy Smith & The Smoking Gunns vs. Irwin R. Schyster, King Kong Bundy, & Nikolai Volkoff (with Ted DiBiase) [Just get six guys on the card, and Bulldog and the Gunns get the win when Bulldog pins Volkoff with the running powerslam; Charles Wright still makes his WWF return, but as Papa Shango instead of Kama the Supreme Fighting Machine, and he can still feud with Taker throughout the spring and summer of 1995, culminating in their casket match at SummerSlam that year as Taker vs. Shango instead of Taker vs. Kama; imagine the back-and-forth mind games between these two.] 4.Bull Nakano vs. Alundra Blayze for the WWF Women's Championship [This match was held on Raw the night after, but it would make more sense to have it take place at WrestleMania with Alundra winning back the title; then you can have Bertha Faye make her debut the next night on Raw by attacking Alundra during an interview.] 5.Lex Luger vs. Tatanka (with Ted DiBiase) in a steel cage match [This feud had been building since SummerSlam and Survivor Series in 1994, so the blow-off should happen here; after the match which Luger wins, DiBiase berates Tatanka, who tries to attack him, only for Luger to return to the ring, beat down Tatanka, and shake hands with DiBiase, thus cementing Luger's heel turn so he can feud with Diesel, Shawn, Bret, and Taker.] 6.The 1-2-3 Kid & Bob Holly vs. Hakushi & Yokozuna (with Jim Cornette & Mr. Fuji) for the WWF Tag-Team Championship [I think Kid and Holly should've had a longer title reign after winning at Royal Rumble 1995, and Hakushi would've also been a suitable partner for Yoko; that way, Kid and Hakushi can exchange high-flying moves, while Holly and Yoko exchange stiff punches, kicks, and chops; we can still have Hakushi and Yoko win the titles here, and then go on to In Your House #1 to defend against the Gunns.] 7.The Undertaker (with Paul Bearer) vs. Bam Bam Bigelow (with Ted DiBiase) [Since Taker is feuding with the Million Dollar Corporation, it makes sense for him to battle their crown jewel, who would obviously be Bigelow; obviously Taker would win, but he and Bigelow can still have a decent big man match.] 8.Diesel (with Lawrence Taylor) vs. Shawn Michaels (with Sycho Sid) for the WWF World Championship [Instead of wrestling Bigelow, L.T. can be in Diesel's corner to counter Sid, and Vince gets the celebrity coverage that he wants.] 9.Adam Bomb vs. Kwang (with Harvey Wippleman) [Just a quick toilet break match to cool down the crowd between Diesel/HBK and Bret/Owen, and allow Bomb to get the win so Kwang can disappear off TV and come back as Savio Vega at In Your House #1.] 10.Bret Hart vs. Owen Hart (with Bob Backlund) in a No DQ match with Roddy Piper as the guest referee [I know that this match was held on the Raw prior to the PPV, but it should've occurred here; also, I don't have Backlund in a match on this card because his victory over Bret at Survivor Series 1994 was just a chapter in the Bret/Owen feud; the finish could involve Backlund trying to interfere on behalf of Owen, only for Piper (who would be the Old Generation guy sticking up for the New Generation) to knock Backlund the holy hell out, and Bret manages to make Owen submit to the Sharpshooter, thus bringing an end to their year-long feud.]
Not a stacked card: LT vs Bam Bam Bigelow Diesel vs Shawn Michaels Bret Hart vs Bob Backlund Razor Ramon vs Jeff Jarrett The Undertaker vs King Kong Bundy The Smoking Gunns vs Owen Hart & Yokozuna Lex Luger & British Bulldog vs Eli & Jacob Blu
There may be the same amount of fans but if so most like me just like going back and watching the older stuff better. I grew up on late 80s and watched through early 2000s and Punk's era. I watch just don't care what happens on the show except for the older guys still there. Love Bruce hate Conrad I love Corny to I don't agree with Jim about some older stuff but hate new shit especially All Petite Wrestling 2 best podcasts. Corny a little better after Bruce went back
I think Owen Hart would've had a lot of fun working with Lawrence Taylor. If you're talking about smaller guys bumping around for Lawrence Taylor Owen Hart would have made it entertaining
Just for fun if you were to rebook this card Bret vs Owen ( Cage Match ,saved for this show) Razor Ramon with Pam Anderson over Luger with Jenny McCarthy. Owen,Yokozuna over The Gunns ( C) HBK over Bam Bam Bigelow Jeff Jarrett vs British Bulldog I.C title Undertaker over Diesel in a casket match ( WWF title) Could've been a fun show.
Did HBK purposely fluff the finish with Diesel? I think Kevin Nash suggested he may have done, and it looks like he did. He should have got HBK back up and done the move again and told him to take it properly.
geez they talked more about everything else than the actual card. also i don't remember wwf using Nash's real name, maybe once somewhere away from the show, but i didn't hear it.
How is the new Doom? I love the 2016 one and I was so amped up for the new one but I heard the difficulty and learning curve was through the roof. Along with limited ammo and frustrating boss battles. Thoughts?
@@deepblue8143 Ok, ....Bong hit!!! ......At first i thought it was a downgrade visualy but atleast they took care of the texture pop-ins with this one and actually think its a powerhouse graphics wise is some areas. It's got a visual flair that you can get behind. And quite the display of Manchild imagery in the background like huge hulking warriors in stone and metal fighting huge mega demons (Been a fan of DOOM since the 90's and couldn't tell you what characters in the lore they are but you'll see what i'm talking about) And also at first i hated the limited ammo cuz i love doing everything in with my super shottie but as you power your weapons up and equip runes and up your praetor suit you'll be addicted to the gameplay in no time. I love 2016 DOOM but im equally loving the hell out of this if not more. And it feels hella good to rip chunks out of these demons. The levels are huuuge btw. I started playing the game early this morning and im at the beginning of the 4th level right now. The cinematics i was standoffish about being its Doom and i wanna kill shit but im digging anything with DoomGuy in it. The game is always showing you something. Not to mention the endless amounts of unlockables, collectables, and cheats to acquire. Tell ya dude, a quarrantine to a gamer is not bad at all lol. Afterthought: I can''t wait to play this with no HUD and enable the infinte ammo cheat, fuck yeah!
@Heath Vance Not OP, but the game is definitely worth the money. As long as you understand the ammo mechanics, you'll be fine. The game forces you to use different weapons for the most part, as some will be better against specific enemies as others. All in all, get it.....definitely worth the $60. I've owned it since it launched and I've already gotten my money's worth.
This is the worst wrestlemaina out of the first 15 wrestlemaina. And people in uk barely knew who LT was at all and probably all the other country’s.And I don’t know why wrestlemaina 9 gets so much hate I like that wrestlemaina it stands out a lot been in ceasers palace and it had a lot more talent then 11 with million dollar man n the Steiner brothers and bob buckland and mr perfect and many others etc.Wrestlemaina 9 is way better then any wrestlemaina in past few years
@@dalynsanders i think bundy was just a look guy w his avalanche n splash even in the legion of doom. I dont think he was as versatile as one man gang tbh
Poor ‘Taker… Bundy absolutely sucked!!! Giant Gonzalez, Bundy, Deisel, Sid, Boss Man… it’s like he was punished with a stiff every year. Nathan Jones must have given him flashbacks
This just proves that Bruce and Vince are so outta touch with this sports entertainment bullshit. Most people don't want the corny gimmick crap, they want reality. We want total kayfabe at all times as well as real men fighting each other...not performing. We need to produce it like a legitimate sporting event. God dammit Bruce, we want to believe. Please help us believe, no more shittin all over the business....
Diesel is very triple h like hes not the guy he the guy to work with the guy. Not with Shawn Michaels and Bret Hart are there, nor with Goldberg or sting in WCW. Getting cheers isn't enough to be the guy 😂
JonAthan Taylor was the voice of Simba that’s what Todd Pettingail would always say lol and Conrad didn’t mention it once I guess he wasn’t watching at the time.
This was a shitty wrestlemania, but Shawn Michaels vs Diesel was a great match was definitely the redeeming factor of this wrestlemania I did not care for the Bam Bam Bigelow vs Lawrence Taylor match because I do not like Bam Bam Bigelow and I am a wrestling fan not an NFL fan did not care for Lawrence Taylor and I’m not from New York not a giants fan HBK vs diesel was the best match. I would rewatch it over and over again
Gotcha. That would make Bam Bams segment with them during his entrance confusing if this version is missing their performance. Is it included on the vhs version. Is that complete
