About the material... I've been using similar materials for props and sfx for more than 30 years (literally) and it looks like the basic foam used in "floor insulation". Technically it is Styrofoam, but the most common variant of that is granulated. The floor variants, easily bought at hardware stores, are compact like this and fairly cheap to buy in bulk.

Florists use oasis green Foam .and I find it works just as well it generally absorbs a lot of water but you’re not worried about that .your water-based acrylics will stick to it just fine and then topcoat with whatever you desire just something I’ve learned over the years it’s not especially cheap though.

You could coat it with PVA glue or PlastiDip to coat it so it doesn't absorb water or paint so much.

I’ve used the green floral foam in place of sculpting foam. It’s cheap it crumbles so Definitely need to hard coat it right away

You are doing fantastic no need to apologize for anything. My father is an English teacher in Mexico and he would tell you keep on learning. Maybe you can start making Spanish Videos yourself or help video creators with subtitles. Where I live in Seattle you can make 14$USD an hour at home if you can translate. There are people who need help on dealing with employers, with legal paperwork and so many other things. Your learning English to help yourself, it can also help others. Plus - Your name is awesome!

Hi @ImaginationWorkshopStudio, We would suggest Foam Mart's website, but we don't know your location, and because of it, we are not sure if their shop is available in your region. Tim uses yellow carving foam (aka gold foam). With a little internet scouring, you can find the nearest shop to purchase this foam. - Adrienn

Where do you get these tools from?
@StanWinstonSchool
@StanWinstonSchool 2 года назад
Hello Jake, Tim uses the sculpting tools he'd acquired over the years. Some of them were made by himself. You can look around at www.kenstools.com/, where you can find a lot of excellent quality handmade sculpting tools. Also, check Amazon, eBay, or type "sculpting tools" to Google, and you will find tons of shops where you can get them near you. - Adrienn

Hey Eric, 2-part polyurethane casting resin. The exact type Tim uses is Pro-Cast A and B by Motion Picture F/X. - Adrienn

Hey M W, If they sell the so-called yellow carving or sculpting foam (aka gold foam), yes. If not, a little internet scouring finds you everything you need. - Adrienn
