Welcome to my channel! This is a music reaction channel. For the longest time, I've loved creating content on the internet. I started off with a gaming channel right here on RU-vid, which eventually turned into a Twitch gaming channel, but as time has gone on I've evolved into doing other things on RU-vid. For years now I've wanted to create a music channel on RU-vid, and recently just figured "why not?", so it’s time to give this a go! Give me any suggestion you have for music reactions, and I will do my best to get around to them. As music has fallen further out of my life, I figured this would be a great time to get reintroduced to music.
If you enjoy this video and my reactions make sure you subscribe to the channel, like the video and comment down below which video you would like to see me react to next.

Saw Styx, a few times back in the 70's, they never, ever, failed to disappoint...definitely worth a "deeper" dive...Rock ON!

i'm from the midwest and lived in the chicago area when styx first started playing in high school gyms and local bars. this is one of my all-time favorite bands and i love their early, more progressive music like this song in particular. i graduated from high school the year that this album was released. thanks for bringing styx to your channel.

💜💜💜Love STYX! "Grand Illusion" is great. So are "Lady", "Babe", "Too Much Time On My Hands", "Renegade", "Boat On The River" and "Blue Collar Man".

I’ve seen Styx many times live, starting in the 70s. Always, I would forget some of their songs. But they’d play them and it was always amazing ☮️❤️

Their best known song. Have your woman by your side as you react. Dedicate it to her as it finishes. The name of the song is Lady by Styx.

My favorite Styx song from my favorite album EQUINOX of all time. The prelude ( Prelude 12 ) leading into Suite Madame Blue even adds to this incredible piece of music. Thank you for playing & commenting on this song

A Styx song that nobody reacts to is Father O.S.A. It is one of their older songs and a true gem! Go for it! And, of course, “Lady”, which I was fortunate enough to hear the play live at a high school in 1974! Phenomenal band!! Keep up the good work, my friend! 👊🎶💙

This, in my not so humble opinion, is peak Styx. This was from their very best era of creating and performing, and again, in my opinion, is their best song. A great choice and reaction, once again. I note that others have touched on it, but this song allows you to hear it as about a woman if you're a radio or shallow listener, or about the USA if you listen closer, and is still relevant both ways. A more straighforward but nonetheless excellent song fromt their same era is called Lorelei.

Immerse yourself in the world of unearthly voice. I recommend making a reaction to one of the best vocalists in the world. Meet Diana Ankudinova! 1) super unique voice (dramatic contralto with polyphonic overtones); 2) the most complex vocal techniques, a bewitching voice; 3) Diana sings in 6 languages : English, French, Russian, German, Spanish, Arabic and any musical genre; 4) incredible charisma, artistry and living of any song; 5) a range of 4 octaves, which at the age of 19 is far from the limit and will continue to grow; 6) a large army of fans around the world; 7) an independent artist, without producers and labels, only with the support of fans and reactors like you; 8) more than 17 thousand reactions. Some reactions have 3.6 million views. The incredible fate of a girl found with a broken collarbone at a bus stop and ended up in an orphanage.

On October 1, the premiere of a stunningly beautiful OST video for the song “Baikal” took place on Diana Ankudinova’s RU-vid channel. The soundtrack performed by Diana became the main musical theme of the film “The Spirit of Baikal,” which will be released in wide release on October 19, 2023. In the film itself, Diana voiced two roles - the spirit of Lake Baikal and the voice of the soul of the deceased mother of the main character of the film. The film received several top awards at film festivals. Baikal is the deepest, oldest, freshwater lake on Earth (22-23 percent of all fresh surface water), it is a place of power, the spiritual center of shamans, different religions - Shamanism , Buddhism, Christianity, Islam, a pristine place not yet touched by civilization.Baikal is the deepest, oldest, freshwater lake on Earth (20 percent of all fresh water, it is a place of power, the spiritual center of shamans, different religions - pagan, Buddhism, Christianity, Islam, a pristine place not yet touched by civilization.

Huge Styx fan here. In the era of AOR (Album Oriented Rock), you listened to the whole album, side 1 then flip to side 2. On the "Equinox" album this song has an intro track "Prelude 12" by John Curulewski on a 12-string acoustic guitar; and on the original vinyl record there is no gap between tracks. Boston was smart enough to put "Foreplay" and "Long Time" on one continuous track called "Foreplay/Long Time" that forced radio stations to always play the intro track as well as the main song. Back then there was so much pressure to keep the lengths of songs short to get radio airplay, so you had radio-edit versions and early fade-outs (so the DJ could talk over the end of the song before playing another or starting a promo or commercial). Since you've heard "Come Sail Away" and "Renegade" (I think that's the one you were trying to think of the title), I have some suggestions of what Styx songs to do next: "Man In The Wilderness" - deep cut by Tommy Shaw (Extended version: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-biKrDFBp0ns.html ). "Lady" - their first hit, by Dennis DeYoung (the lead on "Suite: Madame Blue"). "Fooling Yourself" - A Tommy Shaw song that is the song that got me into Styx. "CASTLE WALLS" - deep cut and deep meaning personally for Dennis. "Crystal Ball" - A song Tommy wrote as an all acoustic one before joining Styx where it was morphed into a Styx song. "A Day" - A jazz-rock fusion song by John Curulewski(the original member before Tommy Shaw). "Queen Of Spades" - A hard-rocking song by Dennis. "Snowblind" - A blue beat song by James "JY" Young and Tommy. and many more...

What a really interesting and fun reaction man. This was actually the only Styx song that I deeply liked. I liked a fair amount of their stuff and some of it just didn't really do it for me compared to stuff I was listening to at the same time when all of this came out. But this album, I played this song so much. So much. And it just hearing it for the first time in years, it seems like a really stands up as being pretty solid rock and yet it still kind of has that stage thing going on that they always brought to their stuff. This would have been in junior high for me.

GreaT tune and the bands classic years consisted of Dennis DeYoung, James Young, Tommy Shaw, and The Panozzo brothers on bass and drums. This song was co-written by Dennis and a former member John Curelewski. It is about the crisis of the U.S. as it approached our BiCentennial.

Haha! Ya musta been living under a rock, which was under another, much bigger rock if you've never heard this one! In my book, as a '70s anthem, this is second only to "Stairway to Heaven"! ;-] It's amazing how the lyrics are as apt today as they were in 1975... Perhaps we should listen, again.

I just looked, and you've done a lot of great classic rock bands, but you missed two that are my favorites: Boston and Heart. For Boston I think you've heard "More Than A Feeling" (BTW don't do the official video for this since it is edited), so I'll suggest "Peace Of Mind", "Foreplay/Long Time", "Hitch A RIde", and "A Man I"ll Never Be". For Heart, I'll suggest "Crazy On You" (live 1997: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qVcl0Iw3fs8.html ), "Magic Man", "Love Alive"(from "The Road Home"), and "Alone".

Early Styx could rock. I wasn't a big fan of them in the mid 70s but only because one of my best friends only listened to Styx, and it annoyed the hell out of me 😆 But they are a great band. This album and Pieces of Eight are my favorites. The Grand Illusion is a great album also. I didn't like the Mr Roboto and later stuff at all.

Styx has many great rock songs, but fell victim to the trappings of fame with the hit rock ballad “Babe”. They abandoned their original sound, and lost a lot of fans with the “Mister Roboto” album. Still, their earlier albums “equinox”, “the grand illusion “, “pieces of eight”, and “paradise theater “ all have some great songs on them.

Mr. Roboto was years ahead of its time if you stop to analyze what the meaning truly was about. Yes it was different and some people refuse to adjust as a fan to the differences of their favorite bands. I saw them on the Roboto tour and it was good. I just wanted them to then come out play some of their best songs on stage. Since Dennis left they have performed well live though never reached the quality of songs or albums since then!
