Yeah was just that reaction at the end, seeing the fox 2 would miss and instantly taking the gunshot as he crossed your nose, very very clean and classy
Honestly, longshot is criminally good in a flanker. Watching a flanker vs tomcat fight with longshot and gs respectively would be such a treat. Both of you go to such lengths to bring out the best in those aircraft, It's a joy to watch.
If two aircraft are stealthy enough to dodge each other's bvr Missiles, then it indeed comes down to maneuverablity which is enhanced by thrust vectoring.

This fight really ought to be used as a source for a movie or in-game cutscene. There were enough near-collisions and physics-defying maneuvers, it only lacked an epic soundtrack. The final round was a bit of a shock, though.

There was a development line that tried to build an engine variant for the eurofighter with thrust-vectoring. It never made it out of laboratory till now but just imagine what you could get out of that combination... Might by the only Gen4 that can push the F22 to the limit.
Just had a EF2000 flashback from my late youth (90s). Glad the Flankers weren't able to do that back then... They were already pretty hard to beat. Really enjoyed this upload man!
That was quality, can't believe you got some of those gun kills, it didn't look like you had them and your switching from missiles to guns was lightning fast! Having seen a Typhoon roar out of clouds above me at a summit in the Lake District before spinning then boosting away, then another at an air show this summer, I can't get enough of it. I'd love to see you fly it more though! Cheers for another enjoyable video. :D

That was epic, I think the Eurofighter Typhoon generally has the advantage in this fight, it takes an exceptional SU27 pilot to do so well, and my man you are an exceptional Flanker Jockey!!! (your reaction time in the 1st fight was superb!)

This was incredible!! I now see how europeans designed their fighters to defeat Russians in their own game. And it was just like wrestling. So close and technical. Both were using their techniques on each other. Great fight, amazing sportsmanship! Loved it man!
The Cobra / turnign off the AOA limiter is working out well in 1 circle- i figure it'd be REALLY useful for a two circle, letting you point your nose at anything, a Falcon, Hornet, maybe even a raptor pending how fast you can wing it around, though it would help to be in a su 35 or 37 ... wonder if DCS lets you use the 37 and it's thrust vectoring combined with the aoa shenanigans... Excellent work of splitting throttles- and of using the flanker. Surprised the eurofighter made it so much of a fight, but that goes to show turn rate matters a bit as well, AOA isnt the only way to look at your opponent(though it lets you look from any situation if you can twist around) ...and the IRIS T is the nuttiest off boresight missile out there lol
Having "flown" the Flanker myselfe (used to play it quite a bit back in Flaming Cliffs - I mean the Su27 was the reason I bought the game Flanker back in the mid 1990s) - I was more than a little worried about how you would do Longshot...against a Eurofighter...I would not have stood a chance - and yet again you surprised me....and this only reinforces what I have been thinking for a long time - "I do not want to run into Longshot on some online PvP server - would be a short evening for me...." Love your videos Sir! Looking forward to the next one!
Round 5 (8:21) looks IDENTICAL to the gun kill shot from Round 1 with the Fox 2 miss followed by gunning off his right wing. Quick switch reflex between Fox 2 to Guns!!!
LS you are an amazing top tier pilot in DCS. Your round 4 missile shot should've been a kill 100%. With that being said, I would like to see these maneuvers performed in real life with these fighters. Part of me thinks they won't fly the same, but what do I know? ;D So that's what cause the power outage in Russia and the EU. ;D
Hey LS, I was thinking if you could show the difference in some of the very dominant dogfighters (like the Raptor and Eurofighter) against older jets like earlier MiG-29s by having an "average" pilot fly the technically-superior jet? I feel like sometimes it can be hard to see just how dominant XYZ fighter is when you or GS fly them because you two and your opponents are so good, so maybe an underdog fight where it isn't a "joke" matchup like a training jet vs. Raptor c:
Great video Longshot. It would be cool if you could swap planes that way if one is dominating you (we) could see if it was the plane or just pilot skills (Growling Sidewinder should do this to)
