Trying to imagine the psychological impact of looping around to re-engage the enemy and seeing pieces of your wingman showering down in front of you without warning.
I just wonder why the Gripen Pilots would fly into the coverage area of the S-300 and S-400 sites. Now you have not only the R-37M Hypersonic missiles from the SU-27's to worry about, but you also have the 300's and 400's to contend with. The Grippens should have just stayed on the very outside of the 300 and 400 sites coverage area and played cat and mouse with the SU-27's. When the 27's came out from their 300 and 400 site coverages(if they even ever would), then the Grippens could lob Meteor's at them and go cold. I believe the Meteor is the all around superior missile and they just have a nasty habit of loitering around. GS got wasted the other day by a Meteor when he was flying an F-15 Eagle with the advanced AMMRAM missile, the meteor just came out of nowhere and got him. The R-37M is a mean missile too, fast and scary, but to fly your Grippen into a host of S-300 and 400 sites, along with the Su-27 and the R-37M, well, that's like a suicide mission, there is pushing the envelope and then there is just tempting fate with the odds greatly stacked against you. I think it would have been much more interesting, if GS had thrown in another SU-27 on the Russian side, and then say throw in an F-15E for SEAD only for the Grippens. Now you have SU-27's to hunt the Grippens and one SU-27 to try and hunt down the F-15E while the Eagle is trying to destroy as many of the S-300 and 400 sites !! That would be very interesting to see if the F-15E could take out enough of the S-330-400 sites so the Grippens could or could not push the SU-27's
@@traviswalker8933 I guess because the f-16 is cheaper and better and the F-15 is probably the best fighter jet ever made (if you can afford it), and the F-35 is the new hotness (if you can afford it). What does that leave? The Rafale? Whatever India is making nowadays? I'm not even sure why the Gripen exists to be honest. It is a beautiful jet but the F-16 is probably the better choice.
@@Arkeo36 the F-16 is not cheap to maintain when runway conditions are not ideal. It also not ideal for short take off and landings. Ask Iraq how their maintenance for the F-16 is going. The F-35 maybe the "new hotness" but the quality control issues and the problematic engine and avionics mean that it mostly stays on the ground rather than in the air.
Im pretty sure the gripen thats modles in DCS is a C model so it doesn't get the best of everything that the E model would get, but hey, a pretty decent fight but shame the E model probably wont be in for a long while....let alone, its ECM would probably be working hard against that S-300 lock and launch
Great video as always, I really appreciate the picture you paint regarding the employment of all the systems. Can you do another one like this, or similar, and show the TACVIEW so we can see the tactics from all angles.
As always, the element of immersion, the way you are putting yourself in the role mentally, is enjoyable. It's also nice to see that the growing number of subscribers is not affecting your videos in a bad way, congratulations on that.
Oh nice. They fixed the sound for the SA10. It now cold launches instead of hot as it should be. It even hangs for a sec before the rocket fires... so much better.
Your right about the new effects, from the snow coming down up high to the rain and water blowing on the windscreen and the sun in the clouds, just keeps getting better!
Yeah, I think the s300s really pulled their weight here, heard those gripens can carry 7 of those meteors now. Would be very hard to 1v1 that. Heard that their making eurofighters that can hold 12 though, idk where they found all the extra space suddenly.
The meteors can look and shoot from 110 km so if the gripens just shoot befor the enemys could shoot there missiles they could have made this video 1 minut long LOL But where were the flares and chaff?
I’m not going to lie. I think it’d be very interesting to see the Apache vs the SU-57. He’s done the P-51 vs the F-22 before so he’s gotta do a helicopter vs Jet
Please fly The F-15EX with AIM-260 JATM's VS The MIG-31 with R-37M's! Please fly The F-16I Sufa with Python 5's VS The Jas-39 Gripen with IRIS-T's! Please fly The F-4 Phantom VS The A-4 Skyhawk guns only! Please fly The Rafale VS The Typhoon guns only!
I'm just wondering are those hypersonic missiles really capable doing that kind of maneuvering as simulations allows them to do (as seen in 12:10)? Wouldn't that high air speeds tear whole missile a part?
Hey man, patiently waiting your next Tomcat streak!!!! I know that's always a request, but it is fun to watch you fly the shit out of that bird!!!!👍🔥🔥🔥🔥
AV-8B VS F-35B MIG-29K VS SU-33 F-86 Sabre VS A-10 Thunderbolt II MB-339 Aermacchi VS MIG-15 J-10 VS SU-27 Mirage F-1 VS Panavia Tornado P-47 Thunderbolt VS SU-25 Frogfoot F-111 Aardvark VS MIG-27K Please guns only and fly Planes on the left!🙏👍
That was the A and B model. C was built with NATO standard and with air to air refueling capability and NATO pylons. The radar was improved and the meteor was developed into the C model from beginning, making it very well integrated and a full blown BVR fighter.
Sweden actually has very few fjords (that’s more of a Norwegian thing), and they don’t represent much of the country’s geography. But yes, mountains, forests, farmland, and countless islands dotting the coast (with beautiful archipelagos).
What?? No. First of all we don't have fjords in Sweden, that's Norway... Secondly the mountains are along the western border, designing a fighter specifically around those is just giving up on 90% of the country. And finally no, Gripen was not built solely around flying down low, the aircraft you're thinking of would be the strike-variant AJ37 Viggen.
You did great in this scenario. How about a similarly enhanced ground setup, environment and aircraft (or a MiG-29) vs Su-57 Felon? I suggest for the 53rd time in terms of dogfight or to mix it with BVR
Do you know if ther be modern versions of Aircrafts too like Su-27SM, Su-25SM and so? I mean after JATM and R-37 was been involved so will modern east birds will com too in the future?
SEAD, but also you can use your super long range missiles (something both sides hard) and lure the other guy close while keep your own altitude low and then if he makes the mistake of getting even 1 mile too close (or outside his SAM wez) you can smoke him. Just cuz he has SAMs helping him doesn't mean hes not killable (also if his altitude is too high his SAMs still can't help him, as shown by my wingman being killed cuz he was too high)
The fidelity improvements alone are amazing, really jumped it up to current standards; this could just be me, but it seemed like things were operating smoother and snappier...is that just bc I need to watch more Flanker content or are things more responsive too?
I would imagine thats a critical problem that would have needed to be solved for the missile to work at all. But admittedly I know nothing about hypersonic missile engineering so take my opinion with a grain of salt.
