In just the first couple of minutes, Quinns has 4 citizens in the same area (population limit is 3 per hex), and 2 tiles have been placed illegally (after setup, new tiles must connect to at least 2 other tiles).

It is important to follow the rules when playing a game, but it's more important to have fun. If some rules seem to restrict your fun, then by all means ignore them!

This kinda feels like Anno the boardgame but they couldn't/wouldn't get the license. Except of course in Anno all the land is conveniently empty and available.

Twenty seconds in: The trash cardboard #5, which is the top trash cardboard in your video, clearly states (in multiple languages, no less) to put all the garbage cardboard under the plastic insert in the box, making "turning the box on it's side" an action which doesn't have a negative outcome. Having your trash cardboard on top of the plastic insert = doing it wrong. Archipelago fungineers even figured out how to do punch out cardboard better than other games. It's amazing. I just turned my box upside down entirely, shook it a bit, then turned it back over and opened it. Nothing out of place. Yeah I'm not even going to comment on the gameplay. Looked like it was fun. Jameson is incredible whisky. I think I'll go have some!

More Rules mistakes: You should take exploration tokens for your explorations in turn 0. The trade blockade resets every turn (never saw this happen - but might have). Seems like you completely forgot that (most) cards can be used by any player.

How good is this game for 2 players?

That desert tile is a misprint. You should look at the back of the starting tile (where the desert is actually supposed to be) to see what the back of that tile actually is. (Addition: Of course, barely 5 minutes after writing the previous sentence I see you ignore a bunch of rules which, at this point, I assume you regard as simply suggestions).

This box insert problem again. Why won't designers also include the box being oriented in different ways when designing games. I also got the same problem with the Ethnos box insert.

A lot of wrong rules. Still, even playing it right, Archipelago is such an overrated game. Its mechanics are clunky and the negotiation aspect of it feels forced most of the times. Sold my copy and never looked back.
