JSU was just the better sounding band......simple👌🏾 SU definitely sounded good but you could tell who the better sounding band was in this battle just by the warm up and marchs they both played in the beginning. Nice battle tho.

Real talk, JSU just has everybody’s number this year. SU is having a freshman and discipline problem this year. I have very high hopes that in 2024 they will have that polished and clean sound we have been looking for from the U. This is just what happens when you have a lot of freshmen in your band that need to catch up to speed with the rest.

It wasn’t a extra note played on sunglasses at night thts how it goes it’s a split part. 1st part comes in on beat 1 and 2nd and 3rd parts have a rest on beat 1 and play on the & of 1.

King KVO, I like JSU. The band is precise, and they are never too loud. I started playing the piano in 1963. I'm 66. And I have an ear as a pianist and for music.

The song right after the intermission the trombones and btones have a split part. There was no out of turn playing.

Your explanation at the end is actually fairly common in sports especially college sports. When a coach is getting all the criticism the former players usually say that the players are the problem not the coaches. Or at minimum the players arent getting their fair share of the blame. And you're essentially saying the same with regards to the the players and directors.

There is no way that SU won this. Their trumpets were being swallowed if they were there at all, the song selections were horrible & The tempo and tubas re off. I’m actually surprised he didn’t just hear some mishaps from SU but he also heard some mishaps from JSU as well. Also you win some, you lose some and apparently it’s just like GAMB vs NOASB. GAMB beat NOASB last year in New Orleans while NOASB beat GAMB this year in Georgia. It’s just like JSU took an L at their turf last year but it seems this year SU was the one to fall. There can’t be a coincidence right?

The Human Jukebox over the past at least 5 decades has damaged so many until they hate us. Has run things for so long until they wanna see us gone. Has been the standard and set the tone for imitation bands to succeed. There's a pasture full of those who fall into these categories. So naturally they want revenge. They want to giggle. They want what they think is the end of the greatest. So they finally found a bandwagon to hop on. Their band when they marched couldn't do it. And the band(s) they think are up to it now, ironically had to imitate the Jukebox to even come close. They cannot name 1 band that hasn't imitated this band to rise in relevance. Steal their formula and you can compete. Stay tuned folks. The Jukebox is, and will always be the standard.

I thought that the repertoire of both bands left something to be desired, few impactful songs and confusing arrangements for songs that were difficult to assimilate, I really missed the explosion and quality that the two bands presented in their first meeting some time ago, I would give it a technical draw At this meeting, despite Southern putting its power into action, some of its arrangements lack cleanliness, on the other hand there are arrangements of some songs that only they perform with impact and quality, necessary songs, but oddly enough none of them were part of from your repertoire that night. Jackson State, on the other hand, greatly improved the performance of many old and new songs, but unfortunately they made mistakes in the repertoire, also playing inexpressive songs that on one hand seemed not well rehearsed, that is, ready to be played, especially at an event like this. So I understand that we wouldn't have winners that night, but rather one band trying to control the other with similar songs, and I won't even talk about the half-time show that Southern performed as the first song, I thought it was appealing, putting two songs together is one thing , but four with percussion between them, it's an appeal!

Su won hands down
