Sub-90 Golf in 2023?

I'm like totally determined to live in the awesome 80's in 2023 with a scoring average of like under 90, especially on my home course, Salem Golf Club in Salem, Oregon. It's going to be RAD!
Okay, in all seriousness I'm tracking my average score at my home club and shooting for an average below 90 strokes in 2023. Ideally, it's going to be well below 90, like in the 85 or lower range, but I've got a ways to go to get my golf game to that level consistently.
I have a secondary goal of breaking 80 at Salem GC. My best to-date is an 84, and that was in January winter conditions, so this golf goal seems very doable.
According to my stats on The Grint I drive the golf ball like a 36 handicap (no surprise there if you've watched any of my other course videos), while all my other stats, approach irons, wedge play, putting, and penalties, come in around the 15-14 handicap range or better. Guess what I'm focusing on at the driving range?!
Since I golf at least one round pretty much year round, rain or shine, I am going to attempt to update with a new video every week or maybe every two weeks. I've got some ideas about how to format that in a way that is less tedious for viewers than slogging through a 19 minute video, but I'd appreciate any feedback or criticisms you have on my videos. Well, other than criticisms of the actual golf. I'm working a program for that and will get better.

I was surprised to see a new video on my homepage this morning considering we in Portland got 10 inches of snow yesterday. Surprised but pleased.

Received 6 inches at my place in Salem an hour south. This round was recorded Sunday (19th), so it just shows how quick the PNW weather can turn on you! Looks to be cold but really nice on Saturday, so I'll probably be back out playing, if not filming as well. Thanks for watching!

Good luck with the quest! This is my goal this year as well (that and hopefully breaking 80 for the first time). First two rounds of the year at Heron Lakes Blue came in at 89 and 92 so I have some work to do

Fingers crossed. Starting out with 89/92 bodes well for livin' in the 80's. Think how much better things get once we get the warmer, drier weather! Good luck, and hope you smash through 80 as well.

We all have our moments! On the chip I hit my spot down to the blade of grass practically, so it was a huge relief to see my chip do what I thought it would. That's an incredibly tough green (#1 handicap hole), especially if you have to putt downhill. On the putt, I honestly took less than 5 seconds to look at it and just had a feeling that if I hit my spot it was going to have a really good shot at going in. Turns out I was right on that one too! But golfers know that this means the karma pendulum will swing hard back the other way. I can't wait.
