With all that she’s been through, Future Hikari deserves both a hug and Amina’s home cooking…and maybe a headpat for later. I think she’ll stick around for the next episode, but afterwards, it’s hard to say. Maybe after season 1 ends Future Hikari will return to her time, but we’ll get a time skip and see Hikari taking on her future self’s appearance.

Surprised we didn't have a joke of, well, where is she staying? Would she try to go with Akina (but put the mask again) and Akina saying "is an online friend that came to visit me".

Maybe, she'll merge with the current hikari (similar to that one character from "date a live")

It would make more sense writing wise for Future Hikari to disappear/go back after Akina wins and changes the future completely, so as not to "spoil" the modified future she returns to.

The difference though it’s her dialogue was about it changing the past, and as a fellow gear chronicle player we focus more on forwarding time to the future.

@omegafaizdive5519 TBF Nao used a divine skill against Mondo even though that shouldn't be tournament legal considering how it came from Cray and not from a card shop, so as far as anyone knows it's not an official vanguard card.

That'd be so unfair and yet so in character for Future Hikari Mondo. She'll do anything to beat Akina and maybe even Suo down the line just to save her brother regardless if her condition gets cured or not. Idk if Bushi would go thatt far, arguably they can just show a bunch of present day cards and have the in universe reason be that, they're still relevant.

It could also be her using cards from dz02 that doesn’t exist at the time in universe

It just reminds me of that G episode with Shin vs Ryuzu where they showed a flashback front years before and still used not only a G deck, but a pretty advanced one (with Success and Shadowstitch abilities) and I just HATED IT. Yes, with 6 attacks in 5 dmg, you clearly need to take risk. But with Rezael and Heavenly Bright, that risk is lower due trigger manipulation and deck manipulation.

@@kodokutamashi1569 they have the same, six card at their final turn(Akina in Hikari turn, and Hikari in Akina turn). Hikari just didnt get enough shield on hand to guard, and thats pretty common for keter. Akina too didnt have enough shield but he use the sixth heal to compromised with lacks of shield. Now one more problem, is Liael deck contains card that discard hands or not? I still didnt get much of Liael decks so i cant really calculate her deck too much, so i just calculate Rezael.

But legion is not in this season tho?

@@archerexiv3740 I mean all we've got to work with, on that premise is Mikoto vs Megumi, and Nao fought the Hero guy after she already lost the Fated Clash. Although,fun fact I learned this from another commentor, wish I remembered his name, but Suo is actually the first person on the right side of the Fated Clash table to win his fight. No joke, rewatch all the fights and check it out. This is a kind of detail that a lot of Yu-gi-oh duel scripters do for the anime, where the guy we're suppose to be rooting for is on the right side of the screen for the vast majority of the duel. Think Yugi vs Atem, Jaden vs Yugi, Yuma vs Astral, and the one time reverseal of that, Shun vs Sora

Nope, Liel=Amorta is the dead Girlfriend of Rezael who died in a Keter civil war, reborn somehow and found in the Gear Chronicle Ruins by Welstra who lead Rezael and Soel to her. She basically said "I am both the Liel you once knew, and not at the same time", and left Rezael the same cryptic "You will die" line like what Hikari said to Akina. Meanwhile Rezael was holding back his emotions of seeing her and wanting to talk to her more about things than just fate and stuff but Liel said something along the lines of "There are more important matters to attend to than idle chatter, talking is a waste of time". Also, the fact that it was Welstra that found Amorta and brought Rezael to meet her fits well with Taizou's part in aiding Hikari in her endeavors. Ekekekeke!!

I don't think it's in character, but maybe Akina can wish that the disaster in the future never happened? He will be able to save Hikari like he always wanted to (even if it's the future Hikari) and now he has heard what Hikari felt after the accident and doesn't have to be guilt ridden

I think the key card here is Heavenly Bright. It looks inconspicuous but it has the ability to call a PG from the top card of your deck (D-BT PGs can proc even when called from anywhere other than the hand), which would exactly be the anime miracle needed for the final Fated Clash.

@@ahmednizamani1746 What do you mean? The PG will still work even if its shield increases. Or rather, it is actually mandatory to resolve the ability of the PG if it's placed on (GC), lol. Blangmire will only nullify player and vanguard abilities, not the abilities of cards placed on the (GC). No OT (which is Suo's strategy to put all power on the VG) would matter in the face of a PG. Suo triggering an OT would be pure game-over tho, I'm not sure myself how to counter that since Dark States OT is too powerful for its own good. PS: Corrected, that's Brandt Gate woops, but an early game OT would be an almost instant gameover nonetheless.

I really hope it’s Hikari. Akina being so sure he can change fate, when it literally is shown in front of him that Hikari can manage with the sickness, just makes him come off as so selfish and blind. Akina will probably beat Hikari, but I won’t really be happy about it.

Keter's The Fated Ones do know each other in Cray. Liael is--or rather was--Rezael's GF who died in a war but then got revived by Gear Chronicles for some reason (which allowed Liael to take/absorb some of the clan's thing, hence the Gear theme and ability in her gameplay).

yeah, I feel like DivineZ would've been better to have at least 24 episodes but alas, 12/13 format is the norm for most animes nowadays with some outliers 😔

@@dindapriskahonestly this show sometimes gets into my shower thoughts and I think: what would it be like if it was a 2 cour show. The first 12 focused on Akina with the cliffhanger being Suo destroying everything. That would be a metal thing to force people to wait months pondering on. Then we get a cold open into an alone Hikari after a timeskip and get drip fed the context for how she learned the news of her brother’s disappearance and how she copes with it, with maybe a short Fated Clash Run (maybe she wins around the 8-9 mark of cour 2). Then we could have the remaining 3 or so episodes being Akina insisting on continuing and trying to change the future.

With more episodes, Hikari could stumble to people closest to other participants (maybe they were doing the same thing as her) and know who were with Akina and so on. That could add personal influence to her decision on who should be approached and relied on to try and stop her brother in earlier episodes, even if they already lost, and made their inevitable fight even more impactful. Alternatively, they could've given each participants 3 chances to fight for their wish in Fated Clash with the third and final chance be the make-or-break moment, like in Will+Dress. This allows to not only pad the episodes to 24+, provided they're willing to be fair and show every fight -unlike in Will+Dress,- but also lets Akina to make more mistakes until he couldn't (at least in the Clash).

@@dindapriska Spending more time with Hikari is absolutely critical for any hypothetical fanfiction rewrite. Something that’s insane to think about is how far Hikari has been pushing herself on sheer willpower, and I feel like that could be delivered much better. Also we’d get a clearer idea of who Akina is from the perspective of someone who knows him personally. To everyone else in the Fated Clash, he’s the One of Miracles. The never give up person who will create and open third doors for his dream. To a Hikari who lost him, he’s a guilt wracked jerk who abandoned her to play hero. Drawing parallels between him and Suo (both went 110% into a set of beliefs in the aftermath of a trauma involving a loved one(s)). Also I just like her insert song so inject more of that in my veins. Personally I think the one and done format is fine, depending on how you balance Akina’s time training and theorycrafting (the Taizo fight was amazing off of the strength of his deck construction and mental game), but 3 chances would be an interesting way to keep players in the Clash. I think if we take that route, then the morality of Akina would be something that’d be a lot more pertinent to delve into. For being the Fated One of Miracles, his Miracle comes at the expense of everyone else’s and in a more extensive Divine Clash he’d be doing that a lot more often. We see glimpses of this in the Nao fight, when he realizes how much the Fated Clash means to her. It would be interesting if he was using extra slice of life episodes to observe the decks and play patterns of potential opponents like Mikoto and Suo, and theorycrafting to counter them. He’s willingly taking aim at their wishes and destroying them for his own. Maybe this would be why he catches Masanori’s eye so much, being a paradoxical beacon of hope and harbinger of despair.

But one thing, Hikari couldn't talk to other participants since they were also gone though, that's why I mainly brought up the people closest to them instead. We may be unable to know Akina directly from them, but we could see some insights on Akina's presence with said participant from their perspective. For example, Hikari could know about Suo from Akina's classmate as well as Suo's uncle and draws the parallel of them that way. She may keep on hating him forever, but she'd know his backstory and how much Akina had been trying to "help" him. This would make the line 23:18 more meaningful because she already heard the story from those two, not just because she knew his personality. Either way, it's truly a missed opportunity to make this series not a 24 episodes. So many things could've been developed better and delve deeper.

​@@ryoshusuke2108There is nothing unfair about it I'm pretty sure that the previous timeline Akina was already aware of Blangdmire by simply watching Masanori and Suo fight(just like the current Akina).The Akina that lost against Suo already knew that Blangdmire was a bad match up against Rezael before their fight.The difference would be that the current Akina is more experienced(stronger)after defeating Taizo and Future Hikari.Also,he has been made aware the stakes so he will be more motivated to win.

Obviously it is restricted like any other Divine Skill if the opponent is at g3. Amorta is basically Minerva, but with tweaks and more power from rgs.

Ain't no way you legit thought he'd keep that deck build for good lol. That deck is built solely to beat Taizo, it won't see the light of day again unless he needs it for the second time

@@dindapriska It was made to beat Taizo because Taizo was stronger than him so he needed it. And if Suo is supposed to be stronger than Taizo, then why would he go back to his old list then? Surely the same logic should apply for both fights since he’s facing superior opponents.
