Wow, that was actually some really strategic play from Shion. I've yet to see a card game show where the other player was just like, "Let me see your drop zone." I was actually kind of shocked at that.

Shinonome is literally the viewer. Think about it, always predicting what is next, the supposed "sick sense of joy" from hardship and the hero he mold Shion to be. He would be us if we were demented and in the story wanting enjoyment from others' lives. Just wow, this is how you do a great villain Vanguard.

Shion: "You know where you can stick the future you are offering!" Me: Daaaaaamn!

to basically sum things up, he used Shion like a book, the story of a hero, he know the hero would grow more after falling and over come every wall he had to, and he know even if the hero hated the villain, because he is a "true hero" he wouldnt let the villain die, so he was not that shocked that he saved him..... but he was shocked that he died.... "Heros dont die ... ths cant be ..... this is the part where you wake up right.... stop playing dead... this is not how i pictured your story ending ....." basically he finally snapped when his favorite "story" (shion) randomly got canceled (DIED)

I didnt truly understand his motivations until just now. He liked living in a world that was predictable and play according to his expectations, but then Shion arrived and initially met expectations but eventually came back and shattered them. The thrill of realizing the world can throw you a curve ball being addicting and since Shion was the catalyst, Shino became obssessed with taking that thrill to the highest peak he possibly could.

If he wanted shion to stand up why didn't he just use a stand trigger.

SHINONOME SHOUMA !! My favorite deck in the hands of my favorite character, and in front of him my second favorite deck played by the character I find the most epic of the show. Amazing episode. And that grand finale left me breahless. Thank you Bushiroad for this episode :)

I'm honestly surprised nothing happened to Taiyou now. Anyways, I predict that a lot of Chrono's friends will get killed, and during Chrono's final battle with Ryuzu, Ryuzu will try explain to Chrono that they can be saved if he gives up and accepts the perfect future Ryuzu envisions. Chrono will be on the verge of giving in, when Taiyou shows up and encourages Chrono to keep fighting so that their sacrifices won't be in vain. Chrono will then win with Groovy and there will be a literal Deus Ex Machina in that Chronojet will use the power of the freed Zodiac Time Beasts and the Stride Gate to bring the fallen back to life. We'll see how close I get.

So what I'm getting from Shouma is Shion is his favorite toy and never wants to give him up... ever

Don't be silly, guys, there's no way that Shion and Shinonome are dead. Remember that the world of Vanguard is all about 'picture' and 'imagination'. The space in Stride Gate is obviously not anything like the real world, or how do you think they can teleport to some floating rocks for a card fight? Shion and Shinonome only blacked out, and they would wake up after Chrono VS Ryuzu. I discovered that I like Shinonome very much, though. This character enriches the story very much, with the 'fluctuation' that he brings.

Okay, from the very beginning when the current ending came out, I knew Shinonome would play a big part in the fight, but now my predictions are confirmed. Shinonome is probably gonna fight for the good guys after what happened with Shion...

OK, this was not the kind of episode that I expected out of Bushiroad, in a sense, not even Shinonome could've foresaw this happening. I never wanted Shion to go out like this! He was becoming such a badass!

The one thing I ams urprised about is that Shion checked the drop zone seriously how long has it been since someone has done that? Oh well with the Shion death knowing vanguard the deaths will be nullified by the final fight between Ryuzu and Chrono. Kinda wouldn't mind if Ryuzu had his perfect future world come to fruition just to see something different.

I love this season, really dark.... but this is good considering I want to watch darker anime.

Shion lost that game the moment he used Fides, simply because the moment it turned into a card his deck became illegal and he commenced with the turn anyway. Now that's sad. he lost and he died.

One month later, (Or 2 months AFTER in the anime rather) Shion is somehow up and managed to bring back the Kiba family to life again. What the actual fuck? Shion is Superman confirmed.

So weird the last part of the episode, I liked it.
