Creating sub plans is one of my most dreaded tasks as a teacher. I find it hard to find engaging activities that will last a full 90 minutes for my students. I tend to error on the side of overplan so the students don't have a lot of down time.

Great video! Teachers work so hard to ensure sub-teachers know what they’re teaching 👏👏👏Hope your foot surgery is ok.😀

Most of the time it is just easier to go to work than make sub plans!!! Surgery went well, and working on recovering now. Thank you.

Most subs have very limited math knowledge. The activities for the students which the sub can do is turn on videos or hand out work sheets. I was a math sub who was allowed to teach math when teacher was out. One comment. Most kids will not watch on line videos. Instead they go to the web for tic Tok etc. I asked the teachers to let me control the video , by showing it in the front of the room. Any video more than 10 minutes long needs to be stopped and content reviewed. On the campus I subbed the teachers were great about leaving me sub plans.

I completely agree! I always leave work that covers concepts students have already learned and should be able to do independently. The only exception is for my Dual Credit PreCalculus class. This is a college level class, so I set these expectations at the start of the year. The kids in this class care very much about their grades (since it also impacts their college GPA) and they watch videos and take notes.
