I enjoy watching your video’s and has inspired me to purchase hp peddles assist trike. For all the people that watch your channel, some people were asking what are some of the health benefits that you get from ridding your trike? I have Parkinson’s and pretty much confined to a wheel chair. I am very unstable on my feet, and have a occasion freeze up and can’t move. The doctors told me not to ride any form of a bicycle, but watching Tim ride I just had too. I have had my new trike now for about one week, and have put 80 miles on it. When I am on the trike, I don’t shake and my speech is even better. How ever it took 13 weeks for the trike to get here to Tennessee because they had to make special modifications to the trike. For people who like to ride a trike and willing to spend a extra money for a trike that is designed for their handy cap ability, hp is the trike that I would recommend. My trike after all said and done was $15,300, but I was able to get help from my medical insurance to help pay for some of bike. Tim you have inspired me and gave me back my life just watch you travel around on your trike! Thank You!
Thank you so much for your wonderful comment Dennis. It really inspires me too when I read about people getting active due in part to what I have created. I hope you go on to enjoy many many miles on your trike. I'm sure it will bring you much happiness. 👍
Well this is the first comment I've made on your channel, though I've been watching since your channel begin. Just wanted to say I've enjoyed all your rides and thank you for sharing.💙⭐🕸️
Great Video Tim! I'm looking forward to more from you. Maybe you can give Matt Galat some useful information about Trike Maintenance, lord knows he needs some LOL. It was nice to see he finally got the Tigerduck back in order while he has been in Vietnam. I will be interesting to see what your plans are for longer get-a-ways on the trike, wasn't sure if you were planning to head back to Morocco this year or not or maybe head to another part of the world. I'm still working on plans for the future and touring of parts of the world by bike or trike, I'm still on the fence there LOL. Anyway looking forward to future videos, Cheers! I like the LED idea on the whip pole front and back. Bravo!
Hi Richard. I normally end up in Morocco at some point each year. I'll let you know... if and when. "Other plans" will have to wait for later videos 😉 (cant spoil all the surprises). Better get your mechanic hat on later in the week. I know you always have the good info. 👍
No questions here... until it gets hot and you forget to try the light colors and wear hot, dark colored clothing. Anyway, I will offer an observation. I love the triking and detail on gear but your subdued voice, easy going manner, and environments traveled really lends itself well to a "Slow TV" style of relaxing entertainment (albeit with a touch more action). Who doesn't have stress? Flip on a TTT video and relax. I think that's your best niche, what sets you apart and what will keep subscribers. I would hash tag to try and catch people who are browsing for stuff like that. Who knows, you might inspire more people to pick up a trike... I know I will as soon as my wife says we can afford it ; )
Hi Matt. Thanks for your kind words. I don't actually set out to create relaxing videos but somehow they often seem to turn out that way. So long as people think that's a good thing then I'll be happy to keep it that way. ...and don't worry about the clothing. I haven't forgotten 😉
Hey Tim, I'm glad I discovered your RU-vid site! I like your flag and light configuration and may copy it eventually. Nice video! FYI: I've made my own flag configuration - about 10 years ago - with two orange safety triangle flags in tandem on one pole and two neon whips with reflective strips. I figured that two flags would be seen on one pole easier than one flag. For rear lights, I put a high speed white strobe light low to the ground near my rear wheel for day or night use - because car drivers notice things lower to the ground about half the time they drive. Been riding trikes for about 20 years. For those car drivers who don't see me - I use an AIRZOUND horn - keep the button mounted near the ball of my hand when holding the steering handle. The AIRZOUND alerted fast moving cars of my presence around blind curves on country roads in Yosemite National Park - saved me from getting hit from the rear as the cars slowed down after the drivers were alerted to my presence (If that makes sense).
The tent pole is an excellent idea. How do you attach the pole to the trike? My Catrike came with a flag, but I wonder if the pole attachment is the same diameter to fit the tent pole.
Hi Tom. The tent pole slides into the cut down end of an old fishing pole I had. I used the section that's just the right diameter for the pole. You can see what I mean in the video I just posted today. 😉
Hi Tim we are going through videos and wanted to say how much we are enjoying them, they are very well edited and getting better. Especially enjoyed the halloween one had to get the defibrillator out after. Keep up the good work. Kind regards Mark, Julie says hi.
As a fellow recumbent bike rider, even though mine is just a two wheeler. I tell people my bike is a work in progress. I'm always thinking of ways to make it better. As for a question, what type of tires do you use? And, have you ever thought about using a small trailer. Also, its great too see you ride along the canal. I follow alot of narrow boaters and there RU-vid channels. Stay safe and keep the fleshy side up and the rubber side down.
Hi James. I also like tinkering with the trike. Its easy to go out and buy everything if you wanted to (and had the cash) but I find it much more enjoyable to try and make something up myself. I'll answer the question about the tires and trailer later in the week if thats ok? Thanks for your comment 👍
Just discovered your channel via RU-vid's recommendations. Subscribed. I have one question at the moment, unrelated to the video's subject: what is your typical speed while cruising and talking? It seems rather fast, but the camera lens probably contributes to that perception. Thanks. I'm looking forward to exploring your channel. I ride an ICE Adventure FS.
Hi Dave, hope you enjoy what you find 😉 They say "the camera adds 10lbs". Well in this case it adds 10mph. I think my average while filming is about 12 to 15mph but if the background is close then the perception is much faster than that. It's something I've still yet to learn.
A tent pole! Good upgrade from the excellent fishing pole idea. Also, I've been thinking about where I would put the white lights and the front of the pole makes sense for me, too, since they would not be used to see, but only to be seen. Still waiting for the end of the rainy season here...
@@TimsTrikeTrips Nope. I'm gonna be lit up like a Christmas tree! We have some places that should be good for riding at night, too, in three major cities within 150 miles. So far, the only trikes I've seen out at night are in Arizona. Tempe has a huge man-made lake park where they ride after dark, but that's partly because it is so hot there during the day. Here in the Pacific Northwet we have several waterfront trails with views of the big city lights. Now, if it would only stop raining...
Hi Brian. Glad you're enjoying the channel. The flag mount is the same cut-down fishing pole design that the tent pole slots into and that is attached to the rear cycle rack with cable ties.
Hi Joe, I use cable ties every 8 inches or so. They slide up or down from the bottom to slacken the strip enough to pull the poles apart. Only the top cable tie needs to be really tight to stop the whole thing sliding down the whip. Hope this helps?
Hiya Tim: Based on your recommendations, I got my own HP Scorpion fs26 at the end of last summer and have been loving it. One thing that does make me wonder, though, concerns folding it. I've done it a few times but have never been able to figure out exactly how the bike can do that without bending the chain in the dimension it is not meant to be bent. Do you have any explanation or demonstration which can show how this is accomplished?( I always get to the point where the rear wheel is supposed to fold over the handlebar and I feel that the chain is being put under a lot of lateral forces and have occasionally backed off thinking "this doesn't seem quite right?")Unfortunately HP offers little explanation.
Tims Trike Trips it’s Mark, he keeps going on about going electric. We always watch your videos whilst we are eating dinner, we are really enjoying them!
I have made the whip with lights flagpole. I really like it, but the battery pk keeps timing out. Any suggesting son how to have it stay on for an extended period?
Do you have electric assist on your trike? Me personally, I am not a fan of the whole electric assist bicycles/recumbent trikes, as well as automobiles. It seems like everyone gets EASILY caught up in this new facade. No one ever thinks about the highly toxic Lithium batteries; and the absolute major problem with disposing of them. Plus, I am a person who holds to old traditions of...pedal power by only human power. That's true exercise and achievement.
Wow Charles that's such a huge question. Maybe I should talk about it in a video? For now I would advise to buy the best camping gear you can reasonably afford but make sure it's also light weight. Heavy gear makes triking hard work.
Got a question about your headrest. How do you like it adjusted for fit, up/down and back/forward? I’m new to trikes and also tall and still trying to figure where to position it.
Hi Eric. I'm not sure I have a certain position for the headrest to be honest. Sometimes I pull it forward and then ten minutes later I push it back again. Its always at the same height though... just on the lower back of my head, but not so low that its on my neck. I'll talk about it this week too. Thanks for the question. 👍
It the River Lee Navigation, (also sometimes spelled "Lea" Navigation). The River lea runs from Hertfordshire in the north and empties into the River Thames in central London.
i no nothing about fixing my catrike i call her orange peel i allways have bike shop do everything i ask bike shop what if i get a flad and i did how to chnge it i dont no how yet can u help me tim
There are many videos on RU-vid that will help you with bicycle maintenance. I show people the fixes on my trike when I need to do something. Try searching for what you need, maybe?
