Gosh what a place. I probably say this in every one of your videos haha but you manage to find the most spectacular places, truly! Those views, the weather (though I don't envy sleeping in a tent in the cold haha) good company 😊You must have an immense sense of freedom up there, it looks like you're the only one on earth when hiking in a place like that. Monday mornings are certainly not bad when you wake up to a view like that 😍 It's a miravle that you didn't get the arse when passing those sheep hahaha maybe they were sensing the fishcakes and wanted to make a good impression😂These green fields towards the end were a beautiful sight. The photos you share throughout your videos are all amazing! Wonderful adventure once again Sue and Dave, I had a great time watching!
@FIVE-FOOTLyth
@FIVE-FOOTLyth 9 месяцев назад
Of course! Maybe the sheep had heard about the fish cakes 🤣🤣 The Lake District is very compact, and especially beautiful which makes the solitary moments all the more enchanting. Thank you for joining us Frederike, I often think of you when our hiking, you would capture some wonderful footage with that Canon of yours! Well done on your new video diaries, I’m watching as always 😊😊😊 Just to add, I feel quite a connection with you after watching the last of your videos. Keep going, my dear. You have a following, and they care for you. I just hope we are able to cheer you with our comments 🥰

I camped on glaramara last year, it’s a great hike up, and the little scramble is good, looked like a big tough few days in the lakes Sue, the views from Steeple and pillar looked class 👌, spot on that guys, atb Mick 👍
@FIVE-FOOTLyth
@FIVE-FOOTLyth 9 месяцев назад
Hi Mick! Good to hear from you 😁 It’s a great place, a bit quieter up there than many of the nearby fells… Glaramara is such an easy place to lose yourself, figuratively and literally! 😂

The grandest of times out that Sue. Getting cold up top with the ice. Gotta go steady on them slopes eh? Ha, Dave got the lump. That was like me the other night sleeping on a slope. All good! A great memory ip there of the Pillar camp - wow how can you beat such glory? I donlt think you can - unique! Well, a good hike with awesome views. All the best. Mark

Hi Mark! Ha, yes one of us got a good night’s sleep 😂 I watched your latest, minutes after you published 😊 I really do love a frost, don’t you? We all deserve it given the rainfall we’ve had lately. I wish great weather for you 🤞

Simply wonderful ❤You covered many of my favourite fells there Sue and Glaramara will always have a special place in my heart as you know. A cracking round and boy were you blessed with good weather. It would be lovely to see your route on Relive or similar if you've got the .gpx file for your track. I'll be down there 5-8 December so let me know if you'll be around the Borrowdale area. TTFN, Ian

We were thinking of you Ian. Your ears may have been tingling when we were standing on the summit ❤️ I’ll see if I can get the .gpx from Strava. We can always get to Borrowdale, would be great to meet up 👍😃

Brrrrr 🥶 bit sketchy climbing on icy rocks! Wonderful views! You guys certainly seem to know your way around the Lake District. Frozen banana sandwiches 😂 I'm convinced anything tastes good when camping. I have those packet grains as well, usually with a tin of sardines 😅 Very envious of you living close to that scenery. Well done on getting the front of the sheep 😂 your last trip up there looks amazing. Ah Black Sail, I remember that from the C2C. Honister too. It was horrific weather when I was there. Blimey you're brave having a dip 😳😂 Keep on adventuring Sue and Dave, great stuff 🎉 couldn't finish the video without a sheep's arse 😂

A-ha! One of the least spoken about joys of hiking…. Old kit that you absolutely love, always reach for first, repair, stays with you for years, brings a mild panic when you think you’ve lost it, then the joy of finding it again! Am I right, or what?

That's quite a trip, covered most of that route, but over a few daytrips! We've still to get up Glaramara And Allen Crags - the tops look quite complex on the videos, lots of humps and bumps, but great view down Borrowdale. Linda wants to know if you two are ever at home? ATB, Roger
@FIVE-FOOTLyth
@FIVE-FOOTLyth 9 месяцев назад
Ah! I’ve had a work break, return on Monday for a 6 month contract, then we will both be retired 😀 You’re correct in your assessment of all those lumps & bumps. We’ve both got lost on Glaramara more times than we’ve got it right on descent. On one occasion a local farmer’s dog latched on to us for our entire walk then showed us the way down 😂
