In this video I will take you with me for a drive through one of our National Parks in the epic Subaru Impreza 555. This video contains a review of the Subaru Impreza GT Turbo 555 and some footage of the 555 rallycar. In other countries this car is also known as WRX or UK Turbo. I will tell you a bit about its history and how it drives.

I've wanted a WRX since I was a teenager and worked at the local Subaru dealership in the late 90s. I bought a mint silver/black '92 SVX LS-L from one of the salesmen and fell in love with Subaru. I currently own a silver 2005 Forester X 5mt and a silver 2005 Impreza Outback Sport 5mt. I still haven't bought my long desired WRX, and while my Impreza may not be turbocharged, it does have full STI interior, Feels gravel suspension, OZ/Sparco wheels, Primitive Racing skid plates, Group-N motor and transmission mounts, unequal length header, aluminum 3 row radiator, and other rallyx goodies. One day it will get an STI short block sitting in between it's SOHC heads!

Wow, great video. Sums up the Impreza Turbo perfectly. Subaru themselves could never have made a promotional video as good as this.

Thanks for the big compliment! I actually have an Impreza brochure and Subaru AWD videotape from 1998; their promotional material wasn't really good in that period... Probably because of the fact that they had a smaller budget than other car companies. They weren't used to selling a lot of cars in the Netherlands until they introduced the Impreza 555 :-)

Loved my WRX, most fun car I ever owned, the 4wd and the turbo combo brought me so much joy, especially when I was sideways on gravel @ 70mph 😵🤪 Love your videos too, very well produced, this channel has enormous potential. ✌️

Lancia Delta, the first and the second gen too. Alfa Romeos (all of them). Peugeot 309, 106, 306. Citroen Xantia. JDM cars from the 80's and 90's.

Cool cars! I think we have a similar taste. I hope to own a Delta Integrale someday. At the end of the summer I have planned a film about my Honda CRX VTEC (JDM 80's/90's). After that I want to film my Alfa Romeo GTV 3.0 V6 24V. Towards the end of the year or beginning of next year, we can hopefully film my Peugeots 309 GTI 16, 306 GTI 6 and 106 Rallye.

Hi Aaron, yes they did. It was before they introduced their World Rally Car and started to call the fast Imprezas WRX. Hope I can share some interesting facts in other videos as well.

That was only in Holland. They used the WRX name since '92. In Japan they got a 555 special edition wich was completly different to the Dutch 555.

Heb een 555 GT Turbo gehad, gekocht bij 60.000 km en ermee doorgegaan tot 250.000 km.... probleemloos...zoveel plezier en elke keer deed de auto wat je ervan verwachtte. Waarom weggedaan? Benzine verbruik en de elke 12.500 km onderhoudsbeurt...ik deed indertijd veel kilometers en dit brak mij toch op. Fijne wagen....niks dan lof voor de auto. Kleine afsluiter; dit is de enige wagen die mij van NL naar CZ in 6 uur deed rijden....gezonde tuning; maximaal 250 km per uur en ideale koppel in de juiste versnellingen.
