Hello everyone after seeing a fb member talk about a great deal from a seller on eBay I went ahead and ordered the oem illumination kit for the brz and thought it would be a great idea to make a EASY HOW TO video on installing the kit. I will also list the instruction PDF for anyone who wishes to follow that as well and will also list the eBay seller unfortunately he updated the prices from the $8 I paid to currently $122. Although the price is significantly higher then what I paid it is still a bargain compared to the MSRP price of $149.99.

Mines was from one of Subaru parts sites with a “freeship” code totaling about $120. Since the lights are 2 wires it should be an easy conversion to splice in a custom-board one with multi-color.

I just ordered these because I needed a way to splice my light-up door sills to the doors and because they’re ECU controlled it’s a PITA. Had the door sills for over a year (Aoonuauto, should’ve gotten the battery-operated ones with the magnet), and didn’t find a reliable way to set them to the door without battery drain. Tried figuring out the dome light too but gave up, wonder if I can use these for the puddle lights too since I have a base. I found a live wire by the light (base model is missing some wiring), wonder if I can just use the negative on these to complete the connection, but I guess the puddle lights would stay on while closed…maybe not an issue.

I was wondering the same about the puddle light. If you try it out do tell us if it's easy to use that kit to wire this kit to the puddle light.

The OEM one comes in blue only, but you can buy different led connectors to switch to red if you wanted too

@@ZeroPlanet_ Thanks. I found red ones Subaru part # 66237SA120. They work but the only thing is the driver side led unit locks in but you can't turn it all the way in past the black tab. They seem pretty secure though.

having some trouble routing the cable throughout the center console - any tips on how to route the cable from the passenger to the driver side?

A few tips would be have someone with smaller hands try it out. If you can’t maybe use a metal wire like a hanger or try zip ties. It took a while to get it through tbh 😅

I’m so curious what are those 2 buttons at the bottom of your center console right under the climate control toggles????

Those are custom 3D printed covers for the wireless charger cubby I designed. I just added 2 buttons to it incase I wanted to wire something up to them.
