This works! I was in the same situation and did what is shown on the video and had the door opened in under 3 minutes. The replacement handle was around $40.00 at the parts store. Not OEM but it will get the job done. Thanks for making this video!
In the event the handle is still salvageable, and you don"t want to drill holes through it. Subaru not having any trim around the top of the window makes it easy to fish a coat hanger to a handle or power lock. I personally zip tie one underneath my car in the event I ever lose my keys. #hacktips
I guess you didn't get the memo, you can't " Undo the Child Lock" if the outside door handle doesn't work as you can't "get" to the child lock lever to undo it. Duh!
