Hey guys, this one is a doozy if you have the newer Sambar with the welded on mount bracket. It can be done! Just be prepared for a fight. Have some big tools handy and eat your wheaties!

I applaud you for using hand tools getting that bushings out! That doesnt look fun lol. If you have an air hammer that would knock that bushing right out of there. And to install the new bushing you could cut two metal plates, drill a hole thru the center and use a thru bolt or threaded rod to sandwich the bushing to press into the crossmember.

I was thinking how nice it would be to have an air hammer to do this lol... And good idea on the installer. I was just afraid to mess it up since the bushing is not flat but i suppose that rubber could withstand some pressure as it's pulled into the mount. The center shaft sticks out about a 1/2" or so.

@@OhKeiGarage Yeah once you give it some pressure that center bushing will flex a bit then the plate will mainly be pushing on the outside of the mount. Since the center bushing is wider than the mount it obviously wont be able to fully be installed using the plate threaded rod method but you could give it a final few love taps with the hammer to get it installed the rest of the way. If you do these all the time it would save you some agony for sure. So glad my truck doesnt have that style lol

I also have a '97 Sambar with worn out mounts. :( Not looking forward to this. Mine also has the EGR valve. I'm 90 percent sure it no longer works and would like to remove it. Do you know if anyone who has done a EGR delete and what are the changes of being able to unscrew the pipe from the exhaust manifold? Thanks

there was a guy making the egr delete kits. i will try and get some from him. you can just cap the ends in the manifold and the valve with the o2 bung caps. i believe it is the same thread pitch as an o2 sensor
