If you experience a Subaru with a check engine light flashing and the fans constantly going on and off, check these green connector on the kick panel that probably has been left connected. It's a connector used by Subaru to perform some self-test on some of their systems.

This saved me on a 2001 Subaru Outback Limited - but the green connectors are on the right side of the driver seat, next to the center radio console.

Had a cruise control misuse cause a flashing cruise and solid check engine light to appear. After properly turning off the cruise control and resetting dash lights i though id run an obd scan, noticed it was unplugged and thoughtlessly attached the green plug. We panicked, seeking solutions for hours online and on Sundays everyones closed. Helped me save my car and family roadtrip, thank you!!

Brilliant! Just saved me loads of hassle; vehicle ('09 Forester 2.0d) was throwing a PO5000 fault code (Veh. speed sensor) and several others - this has cured it, no codes and no fan cycling. Thanks. For RHD/UK owners the green plug is on the RHS in the mirrored position to this video.

thanks! but on a 2013 forester the green plug is on the passenger side under glove box top left, i spotted the disconnected plug while working on other stuff and thought it came unplugged.. so i plugged it in and tucked it away. next thing you know its throwing 9 codes.. p0851 p0140 p2195 p2196 p2096 when it previously had none. now i know its suppose to be unplugged, thanks.

My goodness! I could not figure out this issue for the life of me! Dealership told me about my issues just like in this video, I just dropped 4K to fix a couple other issues (requiring the complete dismantling of the dash), so I said nope, I'll figure it out. Well, I couldn't until I saw this video. THANK YOU! Literally within seconds of watching this, I got it. If you're still active on here, know anything about a P0852 code? Do you think that this could have been the cause of that somehow?

Look for this green connector on the driver side kick panel or inside the engine compartment next to the fuse block and unplug it. It is normally unplugged.

I don't get it, my car went to the garage after accident and they had to plug this green connector in to fuck me up? Are you really sure keeping this green connector unplugged isn't going to break anything and that's how it should be?
@MRDIAGNOSTECH
@MRDIAGNOSTECH Год назад
This connector is usually unplugged by manufacturer and its used to run a system diagnosis test.
