I’ve watched a lot of reviews on this car and this is by far the best….this guy really understands what a WRX is, unlike the majority of other reviews out there
So true. He is funny as well with the hilarious dialogue and delivery. This car is not politically correct and doesnt pretend to be either. A superb solid car that would last a long time and cope with any weather and road condition with ease.
Great review. I’ve got one as a keeper. 2016 STI Premium spec in Australia in pearl white. Have a 3-inch turbo back Invidia Q300 exhaust and a ECUTEK tune. Love how raw it is and is my weekender. I have 3 kids, so the whole family fits which is a plus!
Great accent and commentary. I agree with him here on all of it. Im 54, ive driven most performance cars of the modern era as I worked in the motor trade, and I don’t like most of them either. German cars are far too common on the roads, I find nothing special about them whatsoever. Ive had three Subarus but not this model and its not like anything else on the road and it doesnt pretend to be. As for the power kicking in at about 3500 revs, thats so true of Subaru boxer engines. I had an Impreza, non turbo, and could tootle around nicely at low revs but it came alive at about 3000 revs. Keep it about that in each gear and it was a lot of fun. I really like CVT transmissions so for a bargain id probably go for the Forester XT if I wanted a turbo Subaru. Failing that, for a comfortable choice I would get the Outback again (last shape, I had the 2016 model).
Had a blob eye the past 11 years, now putting that away in storage (180,000 miles 😂) to go pick up a Final edition in a few days. Glad I saw this video as it helped me decide to get a later one
I have a 2004 nissan almera after I buy my first house (Soon) I will get a car upgrade. That being said reliability is a big concern and unfortunatley boxer engine scares me. Otherwise I would love this car; i love the design. Its way cheaper than the new Type R
LOL "sending 300 PS to each corner". No it isn't. There may be some crazy-modded GT-Rs that do that, but not a stock STi. Still - this guy totally gets this car. I still love mine after almost 130,000 miles. It needs an exhaust and a tune to keep up these days but after that, glorious!
Your Wrong ! ****the first impreza wrx model was actually launched in 1992 not 1994 as you stated. No no no also wrong ****subaru actually launched wrx Sti in 1994 not 2002 as you stated. At this point I gave up viewing the false facts .
What a daft , uneducated comment . The ej25 NA is unreliable yes but one google reveals it’s more a maintenance issue than engine problem. Doesn’t bother us Subaru fans though it keeps them cheap

Porsche doesn't make a "boxer" engine. It makes flat sixes. The difference is the way the pistons move. I own a 981 Boxster GTS and an STi. Both are great but in different ways. I have well over 400,000 combined miles on three Subarus. The first two were WRXs and now I'm on my first STi. All three were modded and completely reliable with proper maintenance. Maybe I just lucked out on my cars because I've definitely heard horror stories about fragile engines and gearboxes, but proper maintenance goes a long way.
