Sinead O'Connor, singer of the popular song "Nothing Compares 2 U" died at the age of 56 on July 26 2023. The family conveyed the sad news.
“It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Sinéad. "His family and friends are devastated and ask for privacy at this very difficult time," the family said, according to Variety.
Sinead O'Connor was born in Dublin in December 1966. Her name became increasingly known when she released her second solo album entitled I Do Not Want What I Haven't Got.
The success of the album cannot be separated from the song "Nothing Compares 2 U" which was written and composed by the late Prince and brought the Dublin-born singer to the peak of world popularity.
The song "Nothing Compares 2 U" itself has sold more than seven million copies worldwide and received four Grammy nominations in 1991.
