Definitely going to try this, I always stayed away because I wasn't sure how to do it and hae it look good. Thanks for all the tips, you make it so simple and clear💖
This question crossed my mind today, ive been using infusible ink sheets with my cricut mug press.I ordered my sawgrass sg500 last night and it's due to arrive tomorrow or friday. I jumped on amazon to order my sublimation paper via prime and realised omg there are so many brands 🤯 As usual, this channel has and continues to answers all the craft questions I've faced along my journey....Great content. Thank you 🙏
Thank you so much for explaining the difference between the different A Sub papers. I’ve been sublimating for 2 years now, and I’ve only ever used A Sub, was just lucky enough to have stumbled upon the best to start with, I once tried another only to be disappointed and went right back, but couldn’t never figure out why there was more than one kind. Thanks!!
I have been following you since the beginning of the pandemic when you shared your face mask patterns. You are an amazing inspiration, teacher and artist. I am so appreciative of you and your generosity. Love your tips and templates. Thank you for all you do.
I love the door mats you made ,i am just getting into sublimation and am waiting on a few more items and i am all set to go , love what you do for us crafters and i have learned a lot from watching your videoes .thank you Jennifer
In terms of rear paper feed printers, the blank white side sits facing the front and the printed side of the paper to the back. Very useful video. Thank you ❤
This may be the magic tutorial that will cure my perplexed printer! Right now it thinks it's a toaster, and every time I try to print, it starts yelling, "JAM!" Now I see that the poor thing probably can only handle 105, which I didn't even know was a thing to look for! Thank you sweet crafty teacher! At one point, I saw a setting in my advanced print options for heavy paper/envelopes, but for the life of me can't find it now. I do wonder if that would help with the Epson-heavy paper issues. I'll spend the next 3 hours looking for it so I can find out, rest assured.
Hi Jennifer. I love your teachings, they are very detailed and easy to understand and follow. My I make a suggestion, why not have a search open in your library so we can just type in a keyword like "Subler Flower". I have been trying to locate the sublerflower but you have so much info in there that it made it impossible to find your flower.
I love your clear, concise explanations! You are a gifted teacher!! 💞 I’m totally following all your recommendations! In choosing paper size, if the screen is 8 1/2 x 13, would you ever use paper that is 8 1/2 x 14, thereby wasting an inch? Or should my paper size be 8 1/2 x 11? I will be doing Duufin MDF rectangular keychains… 4 cm x 6 cm I figure I can put 9 on a page of the smaller, 12 on the legal size, if not too close! Haven’t researched that yet either… Still buying supplies. I really NEEDED this video! Thank you! 💞 Your thoughts on which weight for MDF?
Hello, I've been watching your videos. I do have an important question about after the design is applied to a mug, I noticed that the design will fade pretty quickly and I use ceramic mugs and Cricut's mug press and quality subliminal paper that you use. Is there a more professional technique that I am unaware of, please help.
Hi Jennifer! Thank you for all the wonderful information! Just getting started with this amazing process. I’m intending to sublimate on larger scuba knit sheets (84% polyester, 16% spandex). Can I use a washable spray adhesive instead of the heat tape to keep the sublimation transfer from shifting?❤
I am a photographer and thinking about an Epson 8550 to make metal prints. Your channel has helped me a lot. I thought I’d try this before moving up to the big printers for large metal prints. Any suggestions appreciated.
I am new to sublimation and your videos have provided a ton of help. Thank you. I am printing larger graphics on Asub 130G 13x19 paper and every time, it comes out with smears. If I reduce the size like 2 inches and change to a smaller print and use my Sawgrass Truepix 8.5x11 paper, it prints fine every time. Any idea what might cause that? Thanks again for what you are doing!
Hello Jennifer, thanks for this great video! I just got my new pack of A-Sub 125gr paper (becuase of your recommendation). Which paper settings do you use on the print manager of the Sawgrass for this? I don't see an option for "A-Sub" on mine...
Thank you for this informative video. I watch your videos before I start a new project because you offer great advice. I hope you can offer some advice about the A-Sub 125 paper. I'm having trouble with it sticking to the light grip blue mat and completely ruining my design. It has happened almost every time I've tried, no matter what I do to try to prevent it. It could be a large image with very little detail down to a fine cut with many details; using the brayer or not using the brayer; reverse weeding (or attempted to) and with or without transfer tape. I'm about to try the light grip mat with lint pressed into the mat to see if that makes a difference. Please help!
awesome info... i have et-2760.. and a-sub 125. what paper choice do i use in the advanced drop down window ..you kinda went past that...been using premium matte...but nobody seems to explain the ink load dif between any of these settings...LOL
Have you had issues with the "coating" chipping off of the sublimation paper, causing a white spot once it's printed? I've looked at several sheets of my A-sub eco straight from the package and wondered why I was getting occasional white spots. When placed on a light box the blank, unused paper shows these spots on nearly every sheet. Since I am putting on aluminum it really shows up.
Hello Jennifer, How are you. I hope everything is good, my question is if I were to purchase the Brother sublimation printer can this printer be used without purchasing the artspira app.
Yes, you can use the Brother sublimation printer without purchasing the Artspira app. The Artspira app is designed to help with designing and managing your sublimation projects, but it’s not a mandatory component for using the printer.❤️
Thank you so much for showing that you're doing for the individual as myself!🦋 I have followed the steps as shown, for some odd particular reason, my images are not getting on to the mouse pad or cotton fabric; is there anything that you could think of that I am doing incorrect please?!? Please Help!
Sublimation needs a high polyester count to work well. jennifermaker.com/sublimation-for-beginners/ Here are some work arounds for cotton. jennifermaker.com/how-to-sublimate-on-cotton/
Thank you so much for responding! I've watched your videos before starting! Everything prints beautifully on A-Sub papers but nothing appears on the shirts or mugs! Thank you so much Ms. Jennifer! 🦋
If you use a lower GSM paper does it effect the quality of image. I've seen so many mixed reviews. Some say the lower the GSM sublimation paper the more vibrant the colours are. Some say use a high GSM but your colours won't be so vibrant. What do you recommend for mugs and tshirts please. Thanks from the UK
What is the best way to wash shirts that have a sublimation design on them? Or is there something that can be done to the shirt to prevent the ink from resublimating later?
Can you use A-Sub paper and another brand of sublimation ink? I'm new but I'm considering Hiipoo ink in a new Epson printer (ET2800) but it seems the A-Sub paper is the best to start out to keep variabilities to a minimum. And what ICC profile would you recommend for this combo? Thanks for any help you can offer with this.
You are very good 👍I’m making mugs but I’ve had different results from my mugs and I would like to know a recipe to heat time and pressure standards I understand it’s 400 for 2 to 3 minutes and set the temperature set to 200 to start but there are so many variables with mugs or paper. Im trying to make a clean video and full proof standard for working. And preparation for mugs tape is it better to use less tape with silicone wraps.
It does not work with inkjet ink. The printer would need to be converted to a sublimation printer. Here is a tutorial for setting up an Epson EcoTank printer. jennifermaker.com/epson-ecotank-setup-video/
Yes, you can. Check the Print Managers Print Settings window, the Print Manger may use a profile that is not adequate for your paper, inks or substrate which can result in incorrect colors. Hi Jennifer, I am hoping you can help me I just recently tried the printers jack sub paper, and I am having the worst time with it sticking to my tumblers and cups do you think it may be because I am using a Epson wf printer?
