Thanks to Justin Purser & Lee Fleming owners of Smash TV for recording and releasing this amazing footage, rock on fellas! Club Zoo & Groove Tube in FL
This is the closest most of us will ever get to a true Sublime live show. I was only 9 or 10 when this was recorded, but I've been a fan since 2004. It was the first band I ever really loved, and it still is my favorite to this day. Those three worked perfectly together, and the magic that happened can never be duplicated.
Well, I saw them live and couldn't tell you one fuckin memorable moment about it beside my buddy paying the $8 cover and them playing 20 feet away while we drank beer.
Hahaha I love Brad's little "solo" at around 7:45..Sucks so much he passed away so soon, right as Sublime was about to get huge. At least his spirit lives on through the music he left. Also his son seems to be a pretty talented musician himself these days, cool to see him following his father's footsteps but has his own style/sound rather than staying in Bradley's shadow..Wish him the best hopefully some day he sees the kind of success his father did. RIP Brad, you're missed by so many.
The ladies could crowdsurf, "toss her over this way" so much unity n respect in Sublime fam, i remember when 40oztf came out and it changed how i loved reagge n punk, i orginally came to cali in 91 as a deadhead and bands like Sublime opened so much more up to me. Most Grateful for Sublime
Of the folks I’ve met who have actually seen Sublime live, everyone says one of two things; 1. It was magical. Or 2. It was garbage. There’s no in between. You either get a show you’re going to remember forever, or two drunks and a dope head sloppily playing. Rock on and thanks for posting, homie! Really enjoyed “youth are getting restless”
I saw the original sublime right before Brad passed I believe it was the bfd tour or vans warped cent remember, they were on point when I saw them , lou dog walked right in front of me I remember throwing Lou a piece of my bbq sandwich he loved it lol
Thanks for the upload dude! Bradley's magic should always be spread & celebrated for the uniqe soul sweet reggae punk that no-one else has ever pulled off in such a way as these boys did🤘✊✌
I honestly believe if he would still be alive today, he would have made it to a level in which he was compared to Hendrix or Clapton on guitar. Such raw talent, he didn't even need to focus to blaze through a badass song. Combine his raw talent with his soul, and more experience, he would have been listed in the top ten guitarists of all time. Just went way too soon.
It's his voice and song writing thats amazing imo. He was a very good rhythm player on guitar but no where near the lead playing of Hendrix or Clapton.
I'm pretty sure Bud is quoted saying that Eric was an even better guitar player than Brad but he obviously killed on bass. Brad was a solid player and very unique in how he plays but no savant. I think the only voice that rivals Brad at the time was Eddie Vedder and that's a tough man to beat.
Talk about a rowdy crowd...but I guess their music and lifestyle kind of inspired that kind of crazy, funny behavior... One of the greatest bands ever, with personality and humor, and just amazing music. Those three together made one of the best sounds I've ever heard.

7 originals outta 24 cuts . That's how sublime did it; ea album had 7 originals & the rest renditions... wouldn't call them a cover band...they were a rendition group. ,🤺
Man I wish I had seen them play. Not seeing these guys play live, or watch MJ play ball live are the two biggest regrets of my life....then again I was just a teen back then without the funds to really make that happen anyways. RIP Brad, you were awesome bro.
Great footage. I wonder what a well rested, hydrated, healthy Bradley would’ve sounded like playing live. This shit is amazing but all footage he seems completely wasted and exhausted and out of it but still pulls off sick performances but seems like glimpses of what he was really capable of. Plus Bud is a sick drummer and obviously Eric on the bass
I agree, not everyone is a videographer or photographer despite possessing a device that takes videos or pictures. It's not so much my issue with technology but people not participating to focus on THEMSELVES. Look at me LOOKING at this band, deaf vanity at its worst. Bands would rather have a crowd that's actin' like crazy fools than smug hipsters taking shakey videos. It just depresses the musicians and doesn't help promote the band either nearly as much as good videos like this. Not to say you need expensive equipment, it's just that bands looking to get off the ground prefer something that preserves their craft without perversion. Sid Vicious may have been a douchebag junkie but at least he was cool enough to let himself feel the music with everyone else.
visited the old groove tube a couple days ago in indiatlantic florida, highway A1A 980 to be specific! too bad it’s a church now and looks different. still was very cool.
I gotta say. I'm absolutely heartbroken that I'll never get the chance to see brad play live. I'd give anything to him play but I feel like it's a good thing he died young. Think about it. He could have been changed with the changing technology. Some of my favorite bands from the 80's and 90's are now shit these days. I just enjoy these live tapes and keep wishing I could go back in time. Keep smoking Sublime fans!
its not all freestyle its from get out...get out was a song on the first 40 oz. to freedom copys but the song got taken off because they used a zepplin sample in it without permission.
I was just talking to my friend about this exact same thing yesterday. That's what struck me about Sublime the very first time I heard them in . . . Jeez, it must have been '93 or '94: I heard this band melting all of my favorite music into one cohesive mush. Love at first listen.
The Zoo - Greg , Jeffy , one leg mike the biker at the door . Great show ! Cause I was there and worked that show . Yeah bud finally made it from orlando jail ✌️🤣👍
The Groove Tube went out of business in 2006, but I can't seem to find any information on Club Zoo in Melbourne. I assume it went out of business too, but does anybody know when and why? What's the former address?
